Video: President Obama at the Varsity!
Amanda Ozment came to Atlanta to visit her friend Bradley Loomis, and ended up running into President Barack Obama.
“As we’re finishing eating this gentleman comes by and says, ‘if you’d like to move to our lower seating area the president’s coming by.’ I’m like the president of the United States or the president of the Varsity?”
Turns out, President Barack Obama was on the way, and Ozment’s independent filmmaking career was launched.
Here’s the video she took with her phone:
The video quickly made her a Twitter sensation, and a number of media outlets asked if they could use the clip. She graciously tweeted approval for anyone who wanted to use it.
“I was like, I want to remember this so I pulled out my phone. I was thinking my friends would think this was interesting,” she said. “Before I knew it I’ve got 100 mentions. I was like, oh I guess this is newsworthy!”
After her chance encounter with the president, Ozment headed downtown and ran into “Extra” personality Mario Lopez jogging in Centennial Olympic Park. Then came … you guessed it, the presidential motorcade, ferrying Obama to his fundraising visit to the Westin Peachtree Plaza.
“I’m a good luck charm,” Ozment laughed.
A 27-year-old nanny, she describes herself as politically interested but not a huge partisan. But hey, who wouldn’t think it was cool to stumble into a presidential photo opp?
“It’s been kind of a wild and crazy weekend!” she said.

I’ve got one nerve left and this inexperienced, over inflated, narcissistic, corrupt community organizer is stomping all over it. I’m with you Brad, GET OUT OF OUR CITY AND STAY OUT!!! Downtown right now is a complete mess, people standing on the street corner hoping to catch a glimpse of a man who cares NOTHING for them. I doubt very seriously if the Varisty was even a planned stop. I leave downtown at 4:30 and his happy fundraising arse better be gone by then. WOW, i love the level of respect shown to this President. I can understand your dislike for his policies, but the man? Lets take a look at this Bush was in the city several times, and while we complained about traffic it wasn’t disrespectful.
Question: I know you all Hate OBAMA CARE, but how many of you don’t have health care and hate OBAMA CARE? If so please explain why? Be specific don’t through out cost unless you have the figures to back it up. I am not interested in who is right, i am just trying to get a better understanding?

@ Lady-D … was that even English? So Obama spent more than any other U.S. President (7.2% more than Bush currently) and yet we should give him a pass when there haven’t been ligitimate results!? Nothing was dumped in his “lap”, he took the job knowing the circumstance and made promises with a passive plan that never happened. Thats the Reality & its time people take a stand because its clear we’re going in the wrong direction. I was supportive of Obama years ago, but its obvious he is out of touch. Who came after Jimmy Carter? – REAGAN. Did Reagan spend any of his time blaming Carter for anything that happened during his administration? Of course not! And you know why? Because Reagan knew what it would take to turn the country around and he focused on that. He didn’t have time to blame Carter for anything. Besides, Reagan was way too much of a gentleman to badmouth anyone.
Now comes Obama, and he has yet to take responsibility for any single thing he has done. He’s even got you people convinced that your lot in life is all Bush’s fault.
No other President in the history of our country has blamed his predecessor as much as Obama has blamed Bush. And you want to know the funny part? What Bush got thrown in his lap was from Clinton. But no one thinks that far back because Obama has got you so brainwashed you don’t know up from down, left from right and unfortunately, right from wrong.
FACTS are a very powerful thing.
