Report: Obama wants to visit Atlanta movie set

President Barack Obama heads back to Atlanta for more fundraising this week, and reportedly wants to visit the set of a movie filming here.

Deadline reports that Obama wants to visit the set of “42,” the movie about baseball great Jackie Robinson. Actor Chadwick Boseman plays the athlete who broke MLB’s color line by joining the Dodgers in 1947, and Harrison Ford stars as Dodgers general manager Branch Rickey. The movie, which has been filming in Birmingham, Chattanooga and Macon, is wrapping up with some final background scenes in Atlanta this week.

AwMBRKyCMAAFla4According to signs going up in Midtown over the weekend, filming will take place this week in Midtown – on Cypress, West Peachtree and Peachtree streets. Thanks to Travis Nichols for sending the image of the notice, at the left. The notice points out that off-duty Atlanta police officers will be there to direct traffic. Traffic’s always affected when movies take over a city street, and of course if the president shows up that’s going to kick things up a notch.

“Well, of course I said it would be OK” for Obama to visit, Legendary Entertainment chief Thomas Tull told Deadline. He has donated $35,800 to the Obama Victory Fund 2012, Deadline reported.

Alliances with the stars helped Obama’s war chest when he was here in March for a number of fundraisers, including one hosted by entertainment mogul Tyler Perry. Obama raised more than $734,000 from Georgians that month.

The president’s star-studded March event did cause a minor dust-up, though, as entertainer Cee-Lo performed the original version of the song rendered into the family friendlier “Forget You” on commercial radio. Cee-Lo’s performance featured a hand gesture familiar to Atlanta drivers who have just been cut off in traffic, too, and a video of the episode made the rounds online.

Details of the movie set visit were still being worked out.

Percentage wise, blacks tend to vote Democrat to the tune of, usually, well over 90%, In the 2008 election, that PERCENTAGE stayed the course. What DID change, however, was the NUMBER of blacks voting, and THAT was DIRECTLY due to Obama’s race. His supporters pretty much told you what it was all about that year; how many times did you hear them say this was a historical election? Why was that? We’ve had presidential elections before, right? Obama WILL get over 90% of the black vote, once again, mainly because he’s a Democrat. The trick is just HOW MANY black voters come out, not the percentage of that vote he gets.

Hey Obama 2012. I don’t care about his race. I would have voted for Herman Caine in a heartbeat, so take race out of the picture. Fact of the matter is…. it is a PROVEN and historical FACT, that if you lower taxes, the Government’s revenue goes UP. IT GOES UP!!!! So, if that is a proven FACT, then the ONLY reason to raise taxes on the so called rich is for only a couple of reasons. It’s so the working class man can have an “I GOT YA RICH BOY” mentality and it’s for the Dems to essencially “buy” votes from the lower classes. The rich DO pay their fair share. They pay way more in taxes than anyone else.

If the rich person and company have to pay more in taxes, then there is a trickle down effect. Meaning that they will have to charge more TO YOU for their goods and services they offer to offset the higher costs. They may have to eliminate some jobs, generally jobs filled by “Working class” people, because they can no longer afford them. They need to maintain a certain PROFIT MARGIN or they will go out of business. Or, perhaps just go over seas now because, thanks to Obama, the US now has the highest corporate taxes in the WORLD.

This is what I mean when I say that stupid people don’t understand business or basic economics. You all think too small minded. You don’t see the BIG PICTURE.

@OBAMA 2012

Sir/Madam,
An “inheritance” is something, usually a gift, that is bestowed upon an unknowing and typically unsuspecting recipient. Obama ASKED for the job of the American president. As a matter of fact, I think he toured 57 states asking–BEGGING–for people to vote for him to GET that job, as all politicians do. He has not performed well, but this is not because of anything he “inherited.” He asked for the job, and should be held accountable for his failure. If he wasn’t up to the “inheritance,” he should never have asked for the job.

Let’s face it: we put an amateur in the White House simply because most of us hated Bush and everything Republican. We put an amateur in the White House because many of us (white folk) wanted to cleanse our racial souls and do something good for the country–or something we THOUGHT would be good for the country. We put an amateur in the White House because we thought it would be “cool” to have a young, hip president who listens to the Black Eye Peas, and named the Fugees as one of his favorite groups. And some of us put that amateur in the White House quite simply because we agree with his Marxist leanings (sorry folks, it is what it is, and he is what he is–a Marxist).

So we either end this nightmare in November, or we extend it and continue to hear the lame excuses for four more years. Imagine: 2016, the economy still stinks, and Obama and the Democrat candidate for president still talking about the damage Bush did! HA.

How is it in most people’s daily lives we are, in deed, post racial. It’s Obama and the Media that can’t let that go.

In my cultesac, I have a single, divorced white man, an Iranian familty, a white familty, a retired white couple, an elderly white female widower and a single divorced black female as neighbors. And that’s what we are, neighbors, in the best sense of the word,

Herman Cain is a nice guy, but president? President of the United States? NAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH……I love that guy to death, but let’s not get carried away.

But he did build his brand with that run!!

It’s funny, though, that the same black people who’ll laugh at Cain running for president are probably the same black people who voted for Al Sharpton for president.

Ok, the Supreme Court is about to rule on a key provision (individual mandate that every adult must purchase medical insurance). Does anyone out there know how this ruling (if it’s overturned) would effect ROMENY care since the state of MS has the same provision (but it’s a state mandate)?

Also, if the federal government can’t force you to purchase medical insurance then how can the states force you to purchase car insurance?

You I don’t get it…..the same states that sued the Feds in court over the “individual mandate” provision of Obama Care are the stame states that force or requires it’s citizens to have car insurance.

I don’t get it. How can the states say it’s not right to force us to purchase medical insurance and yet they force us to purchase care insurance and if we don’t we can:

1. Get a ticket
2. Have to pay a fine
3. Possible serve time in jail.

Wow………..what hypocrites…………..

I will not make the same mistake as I did in 2008. I was lied to as were all of you. This man is the most divisive, negative person I have ever seen…plus the fact he is a 1% elite.

Obama is going to get beat in this state by 20+ points. Liberalism is a loser as it always has been..it was just re-branded in 2008.

It’s going to be ugly for you haters. Oh a glorious day it will be.

So I choose to drive….why can’t I choose to purchase or not purchase insurance…….that’s the point you idiot…………

BOTTOM LINE: If a black person votes for Obama, simply because he is black, the “Real Truth Is”, that is their f_g right and business to do so. I am so freaking tired of whites having issues with blacks when they do the same darn thing. In other words, if you are white, you must be right! Wrong People! If you do not like Obama or his polices fine, exercise your right to vote for his opponent. But, to say he lies, hell show me a politician that hasn’t. Does,”No New Taxes”, ring a bell? And do not belittle blacks or any other race, that believes he is the better candidate. Why in the heck would black people, when finally allowed to vote,(by whites) vote for anything other than Democrat, when that is how they have voted all along. Ask yourself, as Republican, if Mitt Romney were black and Obama was white, would that deter you from voting Republican? Please stop it with these ridiculous statements, I am, beginning to see more than your true colors,I am beginning to see your true ignorance.

@American you are silly – Obama and the Democrats had the full-monty of control from 2009-2011 and the good will most of the American people (he did win the Presidency) and he blew it. The results are terrible – to any intelligent person that can engage in critical thinking… Unless of course you enjoy massive debt, a poor economy and a leader the entire world of world leaders DOES NOT RESPECT. Well then you’ll go pull the lever for Obama and blame the everyone else for your problems. Good luck!

Black Unemployment May Exceed 20% by November Elections :
http://www.blackeconomicdevelopment.com
the most divisive pres on record…1% vs 99%, black vs white, poor vs rich, green vs oil, govt vs free market, God vs ?? ,tax payers vs 99% (lol), smokeers vs non smokers, med size vs big gulp, Marxist vs capitalism,
the rich pay 70%+ of all taxes…is that not enough..talka bout fair share…what about half the country doesnt pay fed taxes..and youre debate is well “all politcians lie”…and thats ok for you?..wasnt obama all about transparency, uniteing, Obama will reduce the deficit by half of first term, unemployment will be under 8% while in office, close down gitmo, stop the wars, will go line by line with all pork, this man is way over his head…and you look at romney who has made great desicions his entire career…well at least romney has had a career..Obama has never run a business or lead anything..cmon!!!
he has failed, his own party doesnt want him around to endorse there re election…if he does , they get beat!!!
and i do a majority of black voted for Obama because of color…and i have no problem with it…but dont hide it…dont make the same color blinded mistake…

Most of you are barking up the wrong tree with your arguments, the true victims of the two party system are the American people. There is hardly a bit of difference in the two parties that we can vote for and the results are almost always the same, we get screwed while the wealth is redistributed to the ruling class.
Many people will vote for Obama because they see him as an opponent of the ruling class, but his brand of government is hardly different from George Bush’s. Both have done severe damage to the economy, both fought wars that we should not be involved in, both have allowed Wall Street and the Banking Oligarchy to fleece us of our (piddling) wealth, both have shown that they think govt. knows best and should be the biggest company in America.
Sadly, we will again go to the polls in November without a real choice of anyone to take us out of this mess. It was really my hope that out of all this mess, a candidate with different ideas and a true understanding of freedom and personal liberty would be able to emerge victorious; alas, I was sadly hoping for more than I think is possible. The media will not allow anyone who will shake the status quo to see the light of day during the obfuscation contests that we call primaries. Guess I will go to the polls and write in Ron Paul for the third consecutive presidential election, only to see Obama or Romney be our next elected president and the country continue its’ same sad spiral.

Hi Lucy- always nice to meet another So B. it fan. I’m flattered that you’re doing an author study on me. If you look on my website, you’ll see a button on the upper right hand corner of very first page that will give you all kinds of good info for your report. Also, make sure to visit the So B. It Page in the section called BOOKS. Here’s a little bit from that page: Where did the idea for So B. It come from and why did you choose to make Mama’s mysterious word soof? The idea for So B. It didn’t come in one big chunk the way some book ideas do. Instead it came in smaller pieces, which eventually began to take on the shape of a story. One thing I remember thinking about as I began working on the book was this idea that people are like locks, and in order to find out what makes them who they are, you have to find the right key to unlock the mystery.
