Comic Adam Carolla tells the New York Post that women aren’t funny.
Actually, the former co-host of a program called “The Man Show” featuring “girls jumping on trampolines” at the end of each episode, said, “dudes are funnier than chicks.”
Asked to elaborate, he said said some women are funny but most aren’t. He then illustrated his point with some racial-religious commentary: “When you’re picking a basketball team, you’ll take the brother over the guy with the yarmulke.”
Was that supposed to be funny?
Carolla did allow that some ladies can be funny. He cited Tina Fey and Sarah Silverman, the former girlfriend of his former “Man Show” co-host Jimmy Kimmel, as evidence that females can be humorous. He also saluted Kathy Griffin, who filled Atlanta’s Fox Theatre last week. (Carolla performed last fall at the Tabernacle in downtown Atlanta).
But he slammed several female entertainers, too. “If Joy Behar or Sherri Shepherd was a dude, they’d be off TV. They’re not funny enough for dudes.”
As you’d expect, reaction was swift and animated. Carolla trended for a while on Twitter as people debated his comments.
“That’s OK, Adam Carolla. We don’t think you’re funny either. Love, women,” posted a user named Molly Kats.
Carolla does not appear to be addressing the issue on his own Twitter feed, instead using it to promote upcoming events supporting his new book and tweets excerpting the hilarity to be found in the tome, “Not Taco Bell Material.”
A sample: ”My family was the opposite of the Make-A-Wish Foundation: They took able-bodied kids and did nothing for them.”
Also: “Being a depressed hippie is a lose-lose. It would be like if a rice cake had the caloric content of a MoonPie.”
And: “When things are going well, breakups aren’t nearly as devastating, like getting a parking ticket when you’re rich.”
Funny, huh?

Oh and Jenny if this blog and what you wrote here in this particular blog are any indication of your level of humor, then you are lacking in every way and fashion.
You are EXACTLY the women Adam was referring too… Except you would never be confused as a comedian.

The Regular Guys show mocked this article all day yesterday.
They even invited this Jennifer girl to call in and state her case.
Guess she didn’t have the “guts” to face the music. (hiding behind her laptop)
Men rule, women drool

Wrong. They sent a message (via Twitter) about 7:30 a.m. I saw their message at about 9:30 a.m. and said I would be happy to talk to them, but by then I think they had probably moved onto other topics.

So back in the day, I went to war to protect American’s freedoms. And this is what they have done with it?

Carolla never said that women are not funny, making the title of this article false and irresponsibly worded.
Since women are just as funny as men, why don’t women have a better sense of humor about being told that they aren’t as funny as men?

Just look at Jennifer Brett. You can tell she knows funny. Tina Fey knows funny too. Fey has no females other than herself in her writer’s room.

I like how he picked the LEAST funny women on television as his examples of funny women. Kathy Griffen is annoying, Sarah Silverman is the un-funny kind of racist, and Tina Fey is only funny when she’s surrounded by a talented cast. Where the hell is a mention for Wanda Sykes? Amy Poehler? Ellen? Janine Garofalo? Margeret Cho? The female half of the “Friends” cast (still hilarious, years later)? It’s easy to point out a few examples of unfunny women and claim “all women are unfunny”, but I could just as easily point to The Man Show and say that Adam Carolla is an almost offensively unfunny, borderline racist-narcissist.
