I love to run. It’s a bit more difficult now since I’m a disabled veteran from chemical exposure with breathing issues. I’m stubborn…and I still keep going. I did it last year and it was one of the most fun and unique experiences of my life.

This is an exciting and fun event! After participating for nine years in a row, this will be the first time I didn’t receive a number. I guess that’s how it goes with the lottery. Would love to continue the tradition though.

Running is a way of life for me. I started running 10 years ago as a way to lose weight. I was 60-70 pounds overweight and I thought it was the quickest way to shed the extra pounds. I lost the weight and now run everyday to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I plan on getting engaged July 1 and I wanted to celebrate by running with my new fiancee. She was given a number from the lottery but I was left out. Please help!

I’ve run it 8 years straight, having a qualifying time each year (back when it was just sub-seeded + Time Group A/B), but I didn’t get selected in the lottery this year. I was hoping to continue to qualify with at least Time Group A for as long as I could run…but now would just like to run it again this year.

I’m also kind of curious how many weren’t selected this year…I think last year was something like 2-3%, but haven’t read anything on this year’s stats yet.

My wife told me other day that she made a bucket list. On the list is She want to walk at Peachtree Road Race. As I’ve run in the past year of 1993. I want to celebrate on the Fourth of July at the race with my wife. God bless the America.

Since last July I have worked hard to lose 50 lbs. Running has been my method. One of my New Years resolutions was to run the Peachtree in under an hour. I was so disappointed and discouraged when I didn’t get in through the lottery. Maybe this is my chance. I’ve continued to run and train in hopes of an opportunity. Hops this is it.

Have run this every year since I have lived in Atl! I love wearing the t-shirts and showing my dedication to Atlanta. Thought I was going to be out of town, and my sister just moved away (I ussually run the race with her), so I didn’t sign up for the lottery. I am totally regretting this decision, and I would love to win these numbers!!!

In the decades that I have been living in Atlanta, I have never at the pleasure to be involved in the Road race. As I work to better improve my family and my personal health, I believe this will be great jump start to a life long change of a better lifestyle!

I have had multiple broken bones in the past year: right foot two places, 5th and 9th rib, and pelvic. I have looked forward to running this year and my two nephews from Florida are going to be here on the 4th and want to run, but because we were uncertain they would be coming we didn’t register them to run. They are 16 and 17 and want to run badly! I would love to include them in this “bone building” event.

Participating in the Peachtree Road Race is a great way to kick-off the 4th of July. Waking at the crack of dawn to join 60,000 others running thru the 3 H’s (heat, hills and humidity) for the distinction of earning your Peachtree Road Race shirt! It is a true Atlanta tradition and now that we’re going to be in town for the 4th, I’d love to be a part of it again. Thanks for the chance to win a number!

I entered my wife for her very first Peachtree Road Race after she expressed her interest in running…about 10 million times. She was blessed to have been selected in the lottery to run this year, and her excitement lasted all of three minutes once she realized I did not get selected as well. The road race is on our 5th wedding anniversary, and we never spend our anniversaries away from one another. So she is torn with either running alone or just not competing at all. Winning a pair of tickets would really make this anniversary a win-win for my wife and I. The other ticket would not go to waste, our daughter would like to be there with us since we all three exercise/run together on a daily bases. Thank you for the hope of winning AJC!

Love the Peachtree because as insanely huge as it may be, it is still a fun local tradition where we manage to run into so many running friends among the 10’s of thousands out there! My favorite part of the race is seeing local TNT legend Water Stop Bob with beer at the top of Cardiac Hill.

My daughters and I run together most days every week (well, I run with them in a double stroller) and conduct fitness classes for other moms and kids. I couldn’t run to the corner of block, but I’d gladly push someone from the Shepherd Center the entire distance, quickly. My first experience with the run was when our daughter was a patient at Shepherds in 2008, and I can’t begin to describe the hope it gave me to see the wheel chair race battle by. The first light I’d seen in a lo0ng time.

I deserve it. In the past two months I have lost 25 pounds, gotten over a broken heart, started my own business, and gone through rape therapy. Needless to say it would be the icing on the cake! I run 4 times a week if I didn’t I would have lost my mind :)

I moved here to Atlanta from Kansas City, MO for education and a better employment I have been here for 19 years and counting. I really didn’t know anything about the race nor its history. As I made my way around the city over the years, I couldn’t stop meeting people telling me their stories and how this race really effected their lives in a positive way. My finace’ get into it. I run the race from time to time. I really like the t-shirts. I am an avid jogger so I can make it in a good time.

This year I really didn’t want to fight the process to get a number. It’s worst than trying to win the GA lottery. A couple of years I had to go on Craiglist to get a number. I would like to run in it this year. If I can’t, then I will volunter (which my fiance’ and I did a couple of times.)

The Peachtree race is a cool thing. I would encourage any one to do it.It is something that grows on you. You don’t have to be a great Olympic runner to do it. If you don’t want to run, just volunteer. You never know who might be encouraging by doing it……:)

I am an avid runner now, but a couple of years ago I was a hundred pounds heavier and I’ve always wanted to run the Peachtree Road Race. I didn’t enter the lottery this year because I thought I would be shipping out, you see, I just joined the US Navy. I couldn’t be more proud, but my ship out date isn’t until Novemember and I’d love to be a part of this amazing race.

I would so love to win a number. I ran the race in 2009 and had a ball. I entered the lottery this year and I entered my husband. He won a number and I didn’t and he didn’t even want to run the race! So needless to say, I was bummed out. This will be my husband’s first year running the PRC and our anniversary week.

There’s something about this race that just makes it different. Maybe it’s the overwhelming number of people. Maybe it’s the supporters, family members, and strangers who stand on the sidewalk to cheer everyone one. Maybe it’s just because it’s the 4th. I’m not quite sure why but I absolutely love it. To me the 4th of July epitomizes what “we the people” have accomplished and continue to accomplish everyday. The 4th is a time to celebrate and there is no better way than surrounded by 60,000 friends, an screaming “born in the USA” while passing the moes. It’s a damn good time.

Over the past 3 years I have began the start of a new life dedicated to a healthier lifestyle, losing 80lbs and running on a consistant basis. My long time friend has been running 5k & 10k’s for many years and has been my inspiration and my backbone in pushing me to my goal of running the P’tree this summer. We have been training for the P’tree since January and did not get chosen in the lottery and made several attempts at having numbers transferred and would love no more than to have an opportunity to participate!

The PRR is as Americana as it gets. It’s one of Atlanta’s best assets and a great way to honor our country’s freedom. I’ve run the race with my dad, a retired Army major, for the past 8 years, and this year he got turned down. He always kicks my butt crossing the finish line and it’s an ongoing joke between us and the rest of the fam, and always a good time. I’d love to be able to continue it with him this year if possible. If I don’t get this number…anyone else know of someone who is willing to sell???

I grew up in the Atlanta area and my Dad used to run the Peachtree Road Race every year. Since I was 15 or so he has always said that it is an experience he would like to share with me. I was not a runner until January 2011 and since then I have completed two half marathons. My Dad and I have tried to sign up for the Peachtree Road Race but since it has grown to be so big and tickets are now a lottery, we haven’t been able to get them. I know he would love this experience just as much as I would! His birthday is in July so it would also be a great surprise!!

I am a new runner. I’ve only been running about nine months. It’s always been my dream to run the Peachtree, but I’ve never been in physical shape to try it. I’ve lived in Atlanta for 20 years — I love this city! Nothing is more Atlanta than the Peachtree. Running the Peachtree would let me bring my loves together — my newfound love for running and my 20-year love affair with the city of Atlanta. Please select me.

I have lost 100 lbs in the last year and finally want to get fit the way I should be. I was hoping that participating in the PTRR would be a monumental launch to the way I want to see my life from here on out. Have been walk/running and am ready! Unfortunately, we didn’t make the lottery! :-(

I’ve never been a runner. My wife ran cross country in high school, and we have run off and on in our marriage. In 2010, we decided to run a half-marathon. Afterwards, I was pretty much done with distance running. Well, we had our first child this year, and I want to make sure I am healthy and in shape for all of his life. So, I decided to run a marathon in January. I am in my training for that, and a 10k at the beginning of July (say, when the Preachtree happens) would be a perfect part of my training. I have considered running the race for years, and if given the opportunity this year, I think I could do really well in it. So, if you would like to help me in my training to maintain a life-time of fitness for my family, I’d love to have the numbers!

Ran for the first time last year….at the urging of my husband who had run in years past and wanted me to run with him. I nagged him the entire time…I don’t like to run, but if I run I like to run with loud music in my headphones…he likes to talk while he runs. I was told we’d start off walking and wouldn’t get to any running for about a half mile or so…but because folks were started in waves, we ran straight from the start! No water to be found until we got down past the Cheesecake Factory. It was just hilarious…needless to say, I’m not running again this year but my hubby will. He would love to win these numbers! I will be at the finish line though waiting to cheer him on!!! :) LOL

I am twenty-five years old I am jobless at the moment and not sure if i want to continue my major in college. The past few years have been a bit difficult since I lost my job i’ve had since i was seventeen, Ive had other jobs in the same industry now i just want to do a 360 degree and run the other way. With some motivation from a girfriend who runs hours every morning, I started running a few tomes weekly sometimes twice a day. I am now at the point where the exercise is my insperation for anything especially for my artistic side. I would love to be in the road with my best friend who has kept me going .

I recently moved to Atlanta and have always loved running. In 2010 at 23 I suffered a pretty bad back injury and I was told I shouldn’t run more than 3 miles ever again. I have been working to prove the doctors wrong and just changed up how I train. I now practice cross training instead of running everyday and now I feel like I am in better shape than evert. It broke my heart at first that I wouldn’t be a runner anymore, but I have proved that I still can, but in a different way, that’s why I want to do the Peachtree. Plus I’m Chick-FIl-A’s #1 fan!! what more reason do I need than that? :)

This would be my 29th year in a row running the Peachtree. I have been a volunteer for almost 14 years out of the 29 either at the Expo or pre race start group. I have needed to hold off registering because I am on the Leukemia and Lymphoma Team in Training. Mainly, focusing my time and efforts on the triathlon training program on behalf of 12 year old Jacob Moore who has Down syndrome and Leukemia.
So it would be so great to receive your numbers and save me some efforts to find them and then young Jacob could run the last 100 yds with me because he just did the 50 at the Special Olympics!!
I would love to share this amazing event with him because it has always been the highlight of July 4th for me !

I would love to feel that kind of freedom on the 4th in Hot Atlanta!! Furthermore, the fellowship with other runners after the race is just as much fun as running the marathon itself. I’ve always enjoyed running because it’s such a stress reliever and fun activity. Every year I miss out on the Peachtree Road Race, and every year I say next year is my time. This year I moved to Buckhead next to Chastain Park, and I run 2 laps around the 2.5 mile track every day. I enjoy running with my neighbors there and lately I’ve noticed more and more people training for the Peachtree Road Race. When I think of how easy the 5 miles per day has become for me, I sure wish I had a shot at the Road Race because if my neighbors can do it every year, I know I can too.
