Academy Award nominated actress Melissa McCarthy is in Atlanta filming “ID Theft.” She and husband Ben Falcone were able to work in some fun time this week, taking in a Braves game.
“ID Theft” also stars Jason Bateman (who’s been spotted at Maggiano’s in Buckhead) and Amanda Peet (no sightings yet; I’ll let you know when I hear of anything).
The comedy concerns a guy who has his identity stolen by a woman. Hilarity somehow ensues. Bateman was here a couple of years ago filming “The Change-Up,” co-starring Ryan Reynolds. That movie was released last year to not-great reviews. (The LA Times observed soberly: ”The movie, directed by “Wedding Crashers” alum David Dobkin, isn’t very good.”)
Moviefone reports that “ID Theft” is coming to us from “Horrible Bosses” director Seth Gordon with Steve Conrad (”The Pursuit of Happyness”) and Craig Mazin (”Hangover Part II”) also working on the screenplay, so perhaps that bodes well.
“ID Theft” has filmed in numerous metro Atlanta locations including Perimeter Mall and the 191 Peachtree Building. It’s heading to Midtown next.
