Bobby Brown tells The Today Show that he isn’t to blame for his former wife’s death in a two-part interview airing this week.
“I’m not the reason she’s gone,” he said, according to a transcript of the visit reported by the Los Angeles Times and numerous other media outlets. The interview airs this Wednesday and Thursday, in two parts.
Brown also says he did not get Whitney Houston interested in drugs.
“I smoked weed, I drank the beer, but no, I wasn’t the one that got Whitney on drugs at all,” he said during the interview.
Here is a link to the story about Brown’s visit to The Today Show.
Since Houston’s death, Brown has come into criticism from some in her inner circle who say he was a bad influence on her. Also, he memorably stirred up drama at her funeral when he showed up with an entourage. He left soon after arriving.
In March, Brown was arrested on a DUI charge. Also in March, a coroner’s report concluded that Houston had drugs in her system at the time of her death.
