Kim and NeNe at Twist recently

Kim and NeNe at Twist recently

In case you wondered why Kim Kardashian and NeNe Leakes had suddenly gotten all BFF, it looks like the ladies may be collaborating on a business project.

Leakes tweeted this week that she was aiming to “make the hottest shoes (for) Shoedazzle” and to be “on the look out this fall!”

ShoeDazzle is part of the Kardashian empire.

The two reality divas have been spotted together in Atlanta a couple of times recently. They dined together at Twist and at STK and each tweeted compliments about the other. Sounds like a great partnership and friendship has been launched.

So, will you be first in line for a pair of NeNe/Kim K stilletos?

Sightings: Jessica Alba, Jeremy Lin, Shaq

JessAHappy Friday. I am sure you are all busy planning what you will do when you hit the Mega Millions jackpot tonight, so here are a few star sightings to help you pass the time.

Jessica Alba and a friend dined at the Buckhead Diner Thursday night and posed for this nice photo with manager Lane Hale. She’s in town filming A.C.O.D., which has taken over the restaurant No. 246 in Decatur all week. The restaurant will be reopening to guests for dinner tonight.

A.C.O.D. also stars Jane Lynch, who was in Atlanta last year filming a role in the soon-to-be-released “Three Stooges” movie, along with Amy Poehler and Adam Scott. We’re told the project will be filming soon at the Atlanta Botanical Garden, where it has already done a bit of filming. This takes place at night, though, so if you have a visit to the garden planned, fret not.

Jeremy Lin was at Twist at Phipps Plaza Thursday night with a group of pals.

Shaq, shown here with Lenox Square Grill operating partner Greg Grant, has his priorities in order. And Shaquille O’Neal has a philosophy I think we can all get on board with: …

Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel spotted all over Atlanta

Bringing Mexi back: At Tin Lizzy's Cantina Wednesday evening

Bringing Mexi back: At Tin Lizzy's Cantina Wednesday evening

Justin Timberlake, who is in Atlanta filming “Trouble With the Curve” with Clint Eastwood and Amy Adams, has been spotted all over Atlanta with fiancee Jessica Biel.

Early in the day on Wednesday, a photo purporting to be the two of them strolling in Piedmont Park started making the rounds on Twitter. It was taken from a good distance away and had the grainy, nebulous quality of the Loch Ness Monster photo.

More reliable, though, was this photo a source sent me Wednesday evening from the Buckhead location of Tin Lizzy’s Cantina.

An impeccable source then reported spotting the pair  at the Regal Atlantic Station Wednesday night, where they saw “The Hunger Games.”

Timberlake has also stopped by Peachtree Golf Club, where he and Eastwood got in a round, and at Turner Field. Not surprising, as “Trouble With the Curve” is a baseball-themed movie in which Eastwood play an aging baseball scout, Adams plays his estranged …

Atlanta Falcons Coach Mike Smith is all heart

Photos by Lesley Kerr

Atlanta Falcons Coach Mike Smith gave heartwarming remarks at the 31st annual Atlanta Heart Ball, held Saturday at the Buckhead Ritz-Carlton to benefit the American Heart Association.

“As the head coach of your Atlanta Falcons, we understand the importance of having a healthy body, a healthy mind and a healthy heart,” he said. “Healthy living is simple. It’s about healthy eating, getting exercise and getting enough sleep.”

In December, Smith was hospitalized in Charlotte after suffering chest pains following a Falcons-Panthers game. Following the episode he said he would make some lifestyle changes.

“We can find 30 minutes (per day) for physical activity,” he said. “We need to commit to a healthy diet. We need to pay attention to our own personal health by going to our doctor on a regular basis. If we all commit to doing this and go out and talk about it we are going to improve health in the United States.”

NRA creates new “concealed carry” hoodie

Earlier today we posted an item about how “Neighborhood Watch,” a movie filmed in Atlanta last year, is pulling promotional ads. Although the Ben Stiller flick has nothing whatsoever to do with the case of a Florida teen shot to death by a neighborhood watch captain, the studio, acting in an abundance of caution, sought to scotch any possible hint of a connection.

On the other hand, the National Rifle Association has come out with a new “concealed carry” hooded sweatshirt.

“We want concealed carry to fit around your lifestyle – not the other way around,” reads the product description. “It’s the only garment of its kind we know of! Inside the sweatshirt you’ll find left and right concealment pockets.”

The description does not mention the Florida shooting case in any way, but the item, featured under the NRA’s “new” products, has caught the attention of pundits. The Mediaite site has a piece on the new NRA gear posted

Jane Fonda will play Nancy Reagan in new movie

jane_fonda_300-267x300How’s this for strange bedfellows?

Jane Fonda, the sometimes Atlantan whom critics love to hate as “Hanoi Jane” for her Vietnam War era activism, will portray the wife of one of conservatives’ most revered figures: Nancy Reagan.

Fonda will play the former first lady in several scenes in the movie “The Butler,” reports Movie Talk, citing several industry sources.

“The historical drama is based on a story written in the Washington Post about a White House servant, Eugene Allen, who served eight presidents in the White House from Harry Truman through Ronald Reagan -— meaning plenty of chances for cameos from A-list actors,” the report says.

Fonda was in Atlanta in January and posted some photos and comments about the trip on her blog:

“I’m here for various events on behalf of my non-profit, The Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention, and to see my daughter and grandkids. It’s been rainy and cold but still, as always, Atlanta is a warm and friendly place and I …

Ads for filmed-in-Atlanta “Neighborhood Watch” pulled due to Trayvon Martin case

A promotional movie poster for "Neighborhood Watch," which was filmed in Atlanta

A Ben Stiller-Vince Vaughn comedy filmed in metro Atlanta last year has absolutely nothing to do with the Travyon Martin case, but its ads have been pulled nonetheless.

The movie’s name: “Neighborhood Watch.”

The flick, which filmed scenes all over metro Atlanta last year, stars Stiller, Vaughn, Jonah Hill and was directed by Akiva Schaffer. The plot concerns a group of suburban dads who stumble onto an alien plot to take over the world.

But the studio is evidently concerned that the phrase “neighborhood watch” now conjures images of the Martin case. The Florida teen was shot to death by neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman.

The movie comes out in July. Twentieth Century Fox has pulled early promotional materials and said in a statement that while the movie obviously has nothing to do with the Sanford, Fla. shooting, the company is “very sensitive to the Trayvon Martin case.”

Metro Atlantans with ties to “The Hunger Games”

Atlanta actress Sharon Morris played game master "Lucia" in "The Hunger Games"

Atlanta actress Sharon Morris played game master "Lucia" in "The Hunger Games"

The most exciting moment of “The Hunger Games” came toward the end, in my opinion, when the “game masters” were concocting ways to put the young contenders in even more danger.

A game master named Lucia creates a monstrous virtual hound with an appetite for Tributes, and it’s shipped into the Hunger Games forest.

“Wait! I know her!” I thought.

I was right. Lucia is played by Atlanta’s Sharon Morris, who also has appeared in “The Blind Side,” “Due Date” and “The Green Lantern.”

She will be seen in upcoming films including “What to Expect When You’re Expecting,” in which she played the obstetrician who treats Cameron Diaz’ character, and “The Odd Life of Timothy Green,” the Jennifer Garner film in which Morris will play a principal.

She also will be seen in an upcoming television movie starring Cuba Gooding Jr. The project was alternately known as Crew 9 and Crew 7 when it was filming in Atlanta last …

Sightings: Clint Eastwood, Sheryl Crow, Kevin Bacon, T.I.

Happy Tuesday. Here’s a quartet of sightings for you.

Clint Eastwood, who’s in town filming “Trouble With the Curve,” strolled into the bar at the Four Seasons late Friday night.

He’s also been spotted at South City Kitchen Midtown, right around the corner and at Veni Vidi Vici across the street. Hope he is enjoying Midtown.

Singer/songwriter Sheryl Crow had dinner with her son and a friend on the patio of Davio’s at Phipp’s Plaza Saturday after checking out the new Legoland Discovery Center at the mall.

TI at TwistThat’s a popular place for notable visitors with kids. Adam Scott, who is here filming A.C.O.D., stopped by with his family the other day. (That movie, also starring Amy Poehler, Jane Lynch and Jessica Alba, is filming all week at the restaurant No. 246 in Decatur, by the way).

Kevin Bacon, who is back in Atlanta filming an as-yet-unnamed television pilot, took in “The Hunger Games” at Atlantic Station last night, and dined at Spice Market. He spent a good bit of time here …
