Whitney Houston’s body will be flown to her native New Jersey, according to a number of recent bulletins, although numerous earlier reports indicated the singer’s remains would be transported for burial in Atlanta.
TMZ reported earlier today that Tyler Perry made arrangements for her remains to be transported by private plane:
“Sources tell TMZ, Tyler Perry rushed to the L.A. hospital Saturday as soon as he heard about Whitney’s death, and immediately offered up his private plane to the family.”
The Star-Ledger in New Jersey, citing an NBC News report, posted this piece indicating the funeral will take place there. Whigham Funeral Home of Newark, thought to be in charge of arrangements, would not confirm, but the Star-Ledger noted it has handled the memorial services of some of Houston’s relatives, including her father.
A memorial service likely will be held Friday or Saturday, CNN reported. The Rev. Jesse Jackson, a close friend of the Houston family, discussed developments with AJC reporter Ernie Suggs today.
“I was in New Jersey yesterday and my impression is that [the body is] going there,” said Jackson, who was in Newark on Sunday meeting with Houston’s mother, gospel singer Cissy Houston. “The mother is distraught. She is a woman of strong faith and she has wrestled with her daughter for a long time. She was under the impression that Whitney was coming out of it. She is completely stunned.”
Check back throughout the day for updates; we’ll continue posting information as it becomes available.

This is a cautionary tale for everyone; Don’t mess with Drugs! Once drugs get a hold on you, it’s virtually impossible to get clean. Addicts will tell you, it’s a day to day existence trying to stay clean. They are most vulnerable when under the pressures of life, drugs sit there in their mind as quick relief. The weak aren’t able to power through, they keep returning to the drugs for a bailout. It’s also a cautionary tale about who you choose to hang out with. This was a woman with the right upbringing; brought up in the church, a good girl by all accounts. Also a woman that had a great deal of intelligence. You don’t rise to those heights of fame without all your faculties. Something brought her down. She was introduced to drugs by someone she was hanging out with. That someone was probably tough enough to handle drugs. I compare Whitney to a delicate flower, she was no match for drugs. They consumed her; and quickly. Drugs ate her up and spit her out. Drugs fried her brain a LONG time ago. Recent video showed that her behavior was erratic at best, she could barely hold a conversation with anybody. Walked around with flop sweat all over her, hair drenched. My mom always told me; you become like the 5 people you hang around most. You got to be careful who you and your kids hang around. Plain and simple, can’t escape the fact. Having said all that; I LOVe me some Whitney, no more loyal fan than me. None. She is the gold standard of a vocalist. God bless you girl – go to the light…and, and SING, GIRL, SING! SHOW ‘EM WHAT YOU GOT GIRL.

I pray for the family more than anything. I know how her mother feels when dealing with someone you thought may be getting better but really arent. I have TWO addicts in my immediate family, my mother AND older brother. Imagine how that has impacted my own life as I have two younger siblings. Drugs will absolutely ravage way more than just a body….they ravage LIVES. My entire live has been altered bc of another human being’s addiction. There are others out here besides me who can attest to how this hideous substance destroys people. I am very saddended by this and hopefully will serve as an eye opener for someone out there. It aint worth it. Its really not. Love y’all.

It’s obvious that like with most things, people jump to conclusions about how she died. Seriously, she didn’t die from an overdose of cocaine. She wasn’t abusing drugs in that sense. The coroners confirmed she was taking Zanax for anxiety and mixed this with drinking alcohol and the combination killed her before she went under in the water in the bath tub. This is a tragic outcome for someone so great. But lets be respectful and not assume that when a person who struggles with drug addiction dies that its drug related. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family, friend and fans who loved and adored her. The music industry missed her voice and now the world will miss her presence.

WillnAtlanta, I am a great fan of Whitney Houston and started following her career long before she started singing because she was a teen model and so was I, so I was just infatuated with her after she appeared on the cover of teen magazine (the first black girl to do so) this made a great impression on me and other young black girls. But I later found out she was no angel by all means, she once stated that she started drinking and smoking weed at fifthteen and went to rehab at age sixteen. She said her mom you to sing in clubs in Harlem and would sing with her sometimes but she had to stay in the dressing room because she was too young to be in the club (underage people can perform in clubs), she stated while she was in the back people (her moms friends) would bring her alcohol and other stuff she never said what the other stuff was. Some kind of friends they were. When will people learn OTHER FOLKS don’t give a damn about your children. Her mother shouldn’t have left her in other people care in that kind of enviroment. Her demons started long before she met Bobby Brown, which is probably why she made such a foolish decision to marry such an idiot she was quite a bit older than him he was about 20 years old much too young for marriage just right for being stupid though. So sad. I still loved Whitney despite her misgivings in her personal life. I only saw her as a trailblazer for young black girls back in the day.

“The Preacher’s Wife” troubles will rise!. Whitney Houston loved the Lord and HE heard her cries! People really need to stop being negative(comments) because we as people do not know what trials or tribulations(tests) that we may encounter during our lifetime. Please uplift the family in prayers because Whitney was a daughter, sister but most of all a mother, so her family needs our prayers instead of the negative comments. No sin is greater or less! We all have sinned or fallen down @ some point in life…just remember the Lord is always here for us.

RIP Whitney – What an incredible talent
Gone too soon. Xanax, Alcohol, Marijuana, or Cocaine – they’re all drugs and their abuse can or will kill you. Young people need to learn from these public debacles because they go on everyday quietly in the rest of society to no fanfare. People choose how they want to party or celebrate, and they also choose how they cope with or deal with their problems. Seek help and wise counsel if you are dealing with problems while you still can.

Let it be known that she died from LEGAL drugs and ALCOHOL. Yes, she had a drug problem, but the stuff that did her in is available at your local pharmacy with a prescription (which is a extremely simple to get for someone like Whitney).
NOTHING kills and destroys lives & families like alcohol.

Tami, if it was a combination of a prescription drug and alcohol isn’t that still drug abuse? And as far as labeling them ‘hard’ or not I’d say anything that causes a person’s death is a hard drug.
Of course we don’t know for sure it was drug related but when a seemingly healthy 48 year old woman with a history of drug abuse dies suddenly in a hotel room it is completely understandable that most will assume that drugs played a factor either directly (OD) or indirectly (heart damage).
Also, in virtually every case similar to this, the COD invariably involves drug abuse (A.N. Smith, M. Jackson, C. Farley, J. Belushi and I could go on an on).

Doctors give people too many drugs. Its so easy to overdose, espesially if the drugs dont work fast enough. You can easily take too many and accidentally overdose. I think Whitney accidentally overdosed and it wasnt intentional. The drs who prescribed the drugs should be punished.

To some of you here asking what did she do that was so special?? Well. Can you tell me of ANYONE who came even CLOSE to her performance of the national anthem at the Super Bowl? Nah.. I didn’t think so.
I agree that her death is sad, but not really shocking. Thing is, once you have been a drug addict, you either get completely clean and sober and take NOTHING including RX, or, you become addicted to RX in place of street drugs. If she was taking Xanax I am pretty sure she knew the dangers of drinking and taking it. If that’s the case, the desire and urge to be high on RX or drunk was just too strong.
Addiction comes in lots of forms….not just to street drugs.

Whitney, you gave us, almost, 30 years of sweet sounds with your POWERFUL Soprano. You entertained us in your movie roles (and one yet to be released, Sparkle). As the song from the Cooley High soundtrack says, it’s so hard to say goodbye. When we wanted to feel good, we put on songs like “I Want To Dance With Somebody” and we danced our troubles away. When we looked towards the future, we put on “The Greatest Love of All” with your opening line “I believe the children are our future”. You told us of your greatest love when you recorded “I Love The Lord”. Rest, sweet Whitney. The Lord loves you, too. For he heard your cries. Your Earthly turmoil is over now. May you sing with the Angels. We will miss you. We love you, Whitney Elizabeth Houston.

Bubba, you are a jerk. Why is it that there is always someone who will act the fool when they should just keep their mouths and keyboards silent?
Whitney had a beautiful voice. So sad. My husband is an addiction counselor and says that to stay clean, a recovering addict should avoid any mood altering drug (especially alcohol), not just the hard stuff. She should have been aware of this, but either she ignored this or wasn’t told. I don’t know what recovery center she went to, but some just don’t get tough with their celebrity clients. So we lose another remarkable talent.

I truly loved Whitney Houston. I was hoping and waiting for a strong come back. She was truly a gift from God. My prayers are with her daughter Bobbi Kristina, her Mother Cissy Houston, Bobby Brown and her 2 brothers she left behind. Whitney was saved so therefore I know for a fact that she is with the Lord. The Apostle Paul said in the bible “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord”. I know that she is so happy now in the presence of the Lord/God. She was the most talented singer on this earth. Her voice was absolutely beautiful. We all have problems and fall short of the grace of God. We all have our own demons to deal with. It’s so sad how badly she was treated by the public due to her demons. She is resting with the Lord now…this earth is not her problem. She is soooo happy. God Bless her family and Rest In Peace Whitney

@CCHAN. I remember a show on Whitney’s life in the earlier years of her career stating everything you have said about her drinking and smoking even before she met Bobby…but so few people know that or want to acknowledge that. Because Bobby is from the other side of the tracks he has gotten blame for a lot of things, as everyone assumed he is the person who got her hooked. Despite it all and what ever mistakes Whitney or Bobby made in their lives, I love them both and I think they truly loved each other. ( I just saw Bobby perform at JazzFest in Jamaica and as usual he was being Bobby. There was a Soca artist named DESTRA at JazzFest as well that belted out several of Whitney songs, and I was thinking that Bobby must have been there thinking about his love for Whitney).
I really hope that people remember the positive side of Whitney. She is a true legend and there is no one like her. She has left an indelible mark in each of our lives. We have to remember she is human first but a WONDERFUL ICON that can never be replaced. May her soul RIP and I hope she will find the peace and the love she so sought on this earth, from her heavenly Father above. She is now in HEAVEN and is preparing to join that wonderful MASS CHOIR of Luther, Teddy, Etta, Vesta, Michael, Gerald Levert, Ashford Simpson and all the other notables that went on before her.
As human beings we do not give folks the love and honor when they are alive…we always seem to wait until they die…which is a shame. All the out pouring of love that is being sent to Whitney now that she has passed, maybe, just maybe if we all had shown her more love before she died, just maybe, the course of her life would have changed somewhat.
I pray for strength for her Mother Cissie, her daughter Bobbie-Kristina, her ex-husband Bobby and teh rest of her friends and family. It is hard to deal with her loss, so I can just imagine how hard it is for her family and mother.
As her friends in Jersey refer to her…NIPPY (Whitney), R.I.P girl…God has your back now!!!

I think it is so sad that the void she had in her life she chose to fill with drugs and alcohol when she should have filled it with God. She was raised right but she chose the world and now look what the world has done to her. My only prayer, other than for her family, is that she had enough time to cry out to God before she took her last breath. What a shame she didnt’ give her talent back to the one who created it .

I was devastated when I learned of Whitney’s death. As someone who has lost a family member to addiction (alcohol), it is heart-wrenching to see someone go through the struggles. Addiction, in any form, is a disease. In a sense, it is worse than cancer. With cancer, most of the time, you can get treatment and you are cured. With addiction, you are never cured. And from what I have learned about addiction since the loss of my loved one, it is so powerful, you can’t begin to image what it’s like if you are not an addict. I’m sure Whitney fought her best fight. I believe she wanted to beat her addiction for her daughter and other family members – as well as herself. It’s just something that is so powerful you can’t image. God Bless You Whitney, you don’t have to struggle with this anymore. You are in God’s hands and he has lifted you up to be with him. Those left on earth are truly sad, but I for one, am happy you don’t have to deal with this disease any longer. Your voice was truly a gift from God and I am grateful that you shared it with us. Rest in peace Whitney. You will always be remembered and loved through your lasting legacy – your music.

Years ago I was at a low point of my life; a woman I adored fell in love with a friend of mine and would have nothing to do with me. That coupled with the fact that I had a low-paying job, and got little respect at the job sank me into a deep, dark depression. Whitney’s – The Greatest Love Of All helped me climb out of the abyss of gloom and Love myself, I’d listen to it a hundred times and sing along with her at the top of my lungs. I sincerly owe her – big time. She was a jewel, who went down a bad path. Hopefully youngsters will use her as an example and stay on the right road – and spend time with the RIGHT PEOPLE. She, then, is God’s instrument – as she would have wanted !

For all of us, Ms.Houston’s death does come as a complete surprise and shock!!! No matter when, how or who assisted/helped/cajoled/convinced or coerced Ms. Houston into drugs they are devastating in their own right. What happened to Ms. Houston who appeared to be on the rebound and had so much to live for is simply this……..I am human!!! I can MIX drugs and alcohol and “NOTHING IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO ME!” I’ve done it before and everything was OK!!!!! HUGE mistake and assumption and just not the better choice to make!!!!!
!!!!!!!WARNING!!!!!!! !!!!!!CAUTION!!!!! labels are put on PRESCIPTION drugs for a reason…..they are potent and can cause death!!!!! Just don’t do it!!!! I don’t believe Ms.Houston had one iota that she wasn’t going to come out of this situation!!!! If she had she wouldn’t have done it!!!!! As someine else has said…….”This is a “WAKE UP” moment for us ALL!!!!! First and foremost DRUGS (prescribed or otherwise) are addictive and not good!!!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE……pay attention to the WARNINGS…….DON’T DO drugs and for those that are responsible when you’re taking PRESCRIBED drugs…..PLEASE DONT DRINK!!!!! For those with children in your homes (no matter what their ages) make sure you keep your PRESCRIPTION drugs under lock and key……because they can, have and will abuse them too and in more cases that are reported have KILLED someone’s child!!!! Finally, let’s refrain from the negativity it serves no purpose. Lets instead take a tragedy and turn it into a positive by celebrating Ms. Houston’s awesome GOD given talent and use this as an example of what CAN realy happen to us!!! Lets lift everyone, the Houston family and the world up in PRAYER as we all struggle with the UGLY affects of DRUGS!!!!

Whitney Houston was a nightingale at her best. Sure we all have been impacted by her death. It was a real “wow” factor when I got the news on Saturday. Whitney has been living with the demons most of her life. When she first came out she was a pop icon… With the help of Clive Davis, she crossed over immediately… The black community shunned Whitney to the exstint of booing her at the soul train music awards… Cause she wasn’t black enough. To prove to the black community how black she was… She married Bobby brown. That moved proved to be a idiotic mistake… But we still didn’t accept her cause that move made her too black. It was damn if you do or damn if you don’t. Not being accepted is a hard pill to swallow. Xanex was much easier. I know we all love Whitney… She should of loved her more. Instead of loving her so much now. We killed Whitney. Not the drugs.

It is easy to mis-use and OD on prescription drugs. After a recent surgery, I was to take a muscle relaxer every 6 hrs…. I began taking every 4 hrs in error. @Ms. Southernroyalty……I caouldn’t agree with you more….NO Matter how she passed, she’s gone!!! I will differ slightly in the timing statement, sometimes we can alter GOD’s plan by our own behavior!!! I made my statement based on facts already in evidence…..FOUL PLAY has been ruled out!!! Great. So she either had a heart attack that could be exacerbated by drugs, stress and the like or the combination of alcohol and drugs, which those (from a very reliablle source) with her said she was doing both!! It could have also been dry drowning which meant she was unconscious to the point that when she went underwater she could not/did not wake up! Either way, I beg all of us to just make sure we are making the best choices when it comes to our lives because we TRULY on LIVE ONCE!!!

First and foremost my prayers and thoughts go out to her daughter and her mother. This is a very sad day for all who loved her music. Some people have there nerve to sit up here and talk about what they think happened, for all anyone knows she could of had a heart attack it could of been anything please lets not assume the worst. Lets not sit up here and blame Bobby for her previous drug addiction, she is a grown woman and knew what she was doing. My point is that she is gone to a better place whatever happened it is very sad. Goes to show u that your time on this earth is very limited you can have a conversation with your mother and 25 mins later you can be gone. I feel for her daughter and loosing your mother is the most devasting event that could ever happen to one. The events that took place are very strange….she sang about god which was her last performance and the next day she was gone. Jesus does love her and he felt she was in a better place with him. So sick of all the posting, like you all knew her personally.. No one really knew her, but her… Yes, the family will have a hard time and be in the limelight because of it instead of having private time to mourn, and yes, people like Jessie will use it to further his fame, as usual. She had a beautiful voice we will all miss, but lets face it, in a couple weeks we will all be saying Whitney Who ??? Cause most of the post I’m reading are turning out to be post for the ones who post it. Look at me, Look at me !! Get over it people, move on and put the blame where it’s suppose to be… She had choices and more money than 90 % of us will ever have, she decided what to do with her life, good or bad. Stop blaming others for her addictions, the people, the pharmacy’s, the drs. and for God’s sake stop comparing her to MJ or Amy Winehouse, who couldn’t hold a candle to Whitney. RIP, and blessings to her family. Others, stop riding on her coattails like your important !!

I lived in another city and came to visit my daughter a few years ago. I use to visit her often as she had a daughter who was crazy about me and I wanted to see them as much as I could. One time when I visited her she looked so thin. When I looked in her face I could see her bones. I never said anything to her about this, but my son came to me and said she was hooked on crack and we should admit her to rehab. The next time I visited I realized that something was really wrong with her. She was dirty, my granddaughter was dirty and had sores in her head, and the house was filthy. I cried all the way home which was a 60 mile trip. She is off crack now and working and raising her 3 children. The granddaughter is in her second year of college. I prayed a lot and God answered my prayers. It took a while and she could have died, but He is always on time when you depend on Him. I know what Whitney’s mom went through and I pray for her and Whitney’s daughter, as it had been reported that she was smoking pot and causing concern for Whitney. Rest in Peace Whitney, all your troubles are over.

Wow! So many to cast the first stone. How many of us would still comment on this post or respond ABOUT anyone – not just Whitney “if” our lives were made public? We are so quick to judge others when given the opportunity..but if God calls YOU home this INSTANT are YOU ready? As the elders say “You must clean in front of your OWN door FISRT”. My heart goes out to a family who has lost a loved one. A mother who’s lost her precious child, a daughter who has lost her special, beautiful, mother – a person who can’t be replaced, a brother who has lost his sister, an so on. Each of us knows the pain of losing someone. But don’t let me hinder your post(s)…those whithout sin…go ahead and cast the first stone because you are perfect & without sin. May God bless each & everyone of you. My prayers go out to the family, friends & fans of Ms. Houston. <3

The death of this legend comes as such a tragedy. It reminds me of the death of Phylis Hyman. Both struggled with addictions, troubled relationships. and left behind MANY family and friends who love them and would go to the ends of the earth to ensure happiness is restored. We only see the outside of people. We even from time to time smile on the outside yet our inside my hold something else. There are events and times in our lives that become simply a memory…we can never get them back and no matter how we try to arrange things we cannot re-live the moment. The bible says that “death comes as a thief and robber by night” I truly feel like I have been robbed!

Very unfortunate this ended this way. Such a beautiful lady with a beautiful voice ….such an amazing talent. I’m in my 50’s and tear up every time I hear her signature song now. She’s a Jersey Gal and it’s fitting she’s returned to her roots ….where she started. Whitney was a NJ treasure.
I pray for her and her family and hope others will respect the privacy of the family.

Alcohol and Drug Addiction can be cured. Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest..” Matthew 11:28-30. Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. Don’t defile God’s temple. Confee your sin and turn to God. “He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.” (Proverbs 28:13).

TheBigCat…you are the idiot. It’s my money and I pay to see who I want to see. This is supposed to be a way to send condolences and not a place to tear down anyone, whether it’s Whitney or Bobby. You need God in your life. Do you have any talent? What is your claim to fame? God gave Bobby talent…if you do not like him, it is not your place to dis-respect anyone who so choses to spend their money how they want to. You are probably a person who has no culture or class or know how to enjoy the finer things in life. There were a whole slew of artistes including Celine Dion, CeeLo Green, Temptations and others that were at the 3 day JazzFest. Let’s not take away from Whitney’s moment with your caustic and crude remarks. Bobby is grieving just like the rest of the world and Whitney’s family. He is the father of her only child and her husband. So no matter your own personal feelings about him, this is not the place and time. Be respectful!!!
I should not even give you and your crude remark any acknowledgement…but I couldn’t help it!!! Get a life!!!!

@Will in Atlanta, and the guy that responded to you as well. You 2 need to stop being so self-righteous and sanctimonious. All you 2 did will was bring up the negative momnents in her life. Neither one of you mentioned that she took the Star Spangled Banner and made it a number one hit. Neither of you mentioned that she had 26 grammy nominations and took home 6. Neither one of you all mentioned that she had a true God givene gift. Yes!!! I agree she had personal deomons. EVERYONE DOES!!!! I am sure there are some things that are in your personal lives that you don’t want to be made public. The only reason that hers were made public is because of who she was!! Can you 2 truly say that you have perfect lives?? If you say that then you are the one that need a cat scan!!! Neither one of you have “halos” around your lives so stop being so judgmental of Whitney. This is a time now that we should be looking at her in a positive way not in a negative way. She came from a Newark Church to a global stage. And another point that you bring up that is a bunch of crap. You say that the people she hung around influenced her to succumb to drugs. Yes!!! I agree if she was 17 years old. But the reality is that no one can force a grown person to do anything they don’t want to do. So before you blog again in judgement you better read what it says in the 8th division of the book of St. John around the 7th verse in the bible. These are the words recorded; “He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone!”

I, too, respected Whitney’s talent as a beautiful singer, she had a great voice and obviously inspired many people. Reading the comments here has been interesting, but the best so far has been the one about how she had her frailties just like any other human, and as such, should just be respected; I agree with this statement totally. I find it extremely funny (or sad) how so many people on here want to go on and on about her addiction, or Bobby Brown causing her troubles, etc, etc; when she was just living her life as it happened, which is all any of us do. Sometimes we look great, sometimes we look bad, sometimes no one care what we look like, we just aren’t relevant anymore. Celebrity life is at times wonderful, at times terrible, no one can know until they are there what it’s like to have thousands of people looking at and judging their every move.
As far as all of you posting about god this, heaven that, she’ll see so and so in heaven, get real! There is nothing left for Whitney or any of you but a great big nothingness, your faith in an afterlife life may comfort you on earth, but when you pass, you are simply no more. No more songs to sing in an imaginary heaven, no fires of hell to confront you for living the life you chose. If there was a hell, according to many Whitney would be in it for giving in to the evils of this world; if there was a heaven, many would also consider her to be in it for believing in god; funny how neither of them can reconcile with each other. She is, sadly, going to be six feet deep and not living any more, that is the extent of her future. Many of us will miss her, but only a few of us won’t believe in fairy tales about where she is now.

Whitney Houston was the face of every little girl in the inner city. She came from the streets of Newark and East Orange, NJ where Drugs has for over 20 yrs been apart of inner city sub-culture. Although she came from an unlikely place to succeed she did. I must say someone said it is virtually impossible to get off of drugs and I don’t believe that nor do I think it to be true. We all have battled with things some of us worse than others. We make personal choices and at the end of the day the addiction only holds you down if you allow it to. We as human beings can conquer ANYTHING. so for the person who said that don’t speak YOUR Truth onto others. We don’t know what the cause may have been and whatever the outcome we didn’t live her truth nor did we live her life. As for The Incomparable, Talented and Beautiful Girl from Newark Ms. Whitney Houston You are loved and were loved by so many. You will truly be missed!

after reading some of the comments about Whitney…I knew I had to STOP & express similar feelings as a person shown as “clean” did….my passion/business/mission is educating the public about preventive/natural health, personal growth & positive news*..for over 24 yrs…we are in the middle of soo much information having to do with the abuse of perscription drugs….the biggest downfall of people’s True health began when big pharma realized the huge market they could create as they produced more & More medication/perscruption drugs…..the profit is immense and continues to line the pockets of those who only care about how deeply they line those pockets. Over 24 yrs ago we were given an unstopable mission and to this day it is GROWING by leaps & bounds….a mission that cares about people…a mission that helps people Wake UP to the fact that HEALTH care is NOT disease care. Health is about tapping into the amazing mind//body&spirit that we are ~ and giving the body/mind & spiirt what it needs to expand healthfully… the way the Creator meant for us to ive. We are LIVING beings made in the Image & Likeness of the Creator (whatever or whomever that is for a person ~ this isn’t about Religion)…and we are meant to take in that which is natural ~ REAL ~ non-altered…we were NOT meant to be the recipients of the ungodly number of DRUGS/Medications that they keep coming out with and making them as accessible as possible to us all ~ starting when we are wee babies…think about it…when we are born they want to begin injecting us with one drug or another..including the beginning of vaccines…what will it take for people to Really wake up…may we all take a moment of silence for Whitney and all those who are caught up in the web of “safe & unsafe drugs”
This, I know, is why we have been given the never-ending mission of our Healthy Referral Newspaper and MindYourBody&Spirit radio show* Blessings ~ Love & LIGHT to Whitney & her family ~ LOVE is all there is*

I lift my hat to you Tyler Perry. You, in the midst of crisis, remember what “family” is all about and you jumped in and did what you felt you had to do. Whitney Houston was a great singer with obvious problems. Did those closest to her went over and above to help her with her additions, we do not know. On the BET 2012 Honors, the First Lady, Michelle Obama said something so powerful “we have to reach out, reach down and help our brother and sisters”. It is our duty as a people to do so. So let us not be too judgemental with Whitney. Let us remember her for the great artist that she was, and pray for her family that they will one day come to terms with her passing. RIP Whitney!

Addiction is a disease. Some understand this while other don’t. I have live with a addict for many years. By the grace of God she is one year clean. I have learned a lot about addiction. The most important thing is that the only person that can stay clean forever is the addict. This is the choice they must make. No one else is to blame. She had a disease just like cancer, which if that is what she had no one would say bad things about her. Addiction is the same, there is a cure but it affects your mind and body. You have to stay clean, remove yourselft from people, place and things that trigger that desire to want to use. It’s harder that most can imagine. God bless this beautiful talented woman and her family.

willnatlanta, you had a smart Mama. Matt, saying Whitney should have smoked a joint instead…well, I get your intentions but pot is not the answer and she should NEVER have been prescribed Xanax or anything else. She should NEVER have gone back to that environment, i.e. the parasitic music industry, parties, expectations, stress… Who in the hell are the dealers/suppliers and the dumb-ass Doctors that enabled this outcome. Yes, ultimately Whitney made her choices. To fans of any celebrity, don’t hound them if you cross paths. Let them be. To those of you who talk of not being judgmental, well you darn well better be discerning of behavior or you’ll find yourself in a heap of mess too. God Bless Whitney and protect her daughter.

I watched Whitney’s TV interview with Diane Sawyer and when asked which was her worse enemy.drugs, alcohol or the pills, Whitney responded she was her worse enemy. Her demons had taken her so far down that she had forgotten with GOD’s help she could overcome her demons.
I feel that GOD had to take her in order to save her soul. Her death might be what save others who are struggling with various addictions, looking for answers and happiness in all the worng places.
She has that peace now that she couldn’t find on earth. Whitney has access to resources to help her but they’re useless if a person hasn’t made up their mind to help themself.

As others, I am shocked, but not surprised. But what a Gift, of life and a lovely voice. What lessons for all of us to learn from. Its worth pausing to think about. Lets consider the evils of addiction and evil associates, the slavery it brings us into for the evil they are. Lets think about the Christianity that does not get lived out in true freedom and holy living, as it should. Lets think about it and become better and safer because of it. This death was so unnecessary.
I feel so sorry in my heart for Whitney’s mother, Cissy and her daughter. It is so easy to blame the ex, and speak about things we know little about. Rest in Peace Whitney Houston.
Thank you, Tyler Perry, for stepping up in such a good way. Frank Robinson

Drug and alcohol abuse causes so many horrible thing to our bodies. It can cause infections, pneumonia etc. What may not overdose one person can actually overdose and kill another. It’s like trading rooms on the Titantic, gettin on prescription drugs to get off street drugs.(the end results can sometimes be fatal from either). I will personally remember Whitney as very talented performer who touched my life with her beautiful music.

Who are we to judge may the life we live speak for us. Although she made some bad choices during her life she managed to touch other’s lives with her music. Thank you Whitney for giving of yourself and not demanding anything in return and I know God is very pleased with you because you had a personal relationship with him and that matters most of all. As Jesus said “He who hath no sin, cast the first stone”. My prayers are for Whitney’s family, friends, fans and even for those who are still crucifying her in death. Whitney had said in an interview years ago, “… pray for my soul …”. Can we all stop all the negativity and ask what can we do to prevent another situation like this occurring. Let us all be our brother and sister’s keepers. Let us reach out a helping hand, whether it is a prayer, a smile, a positive blog, a donation to an organization, be a volunteer. Let’s go back to the time when we were all watching for our neighbour.

This kind of melodramatic statement is just crazy. Centuries? Do you actually believe that? Why must many of you be so over the top and off the mark with your comments? Your sentiments are dismissed and not taken seriously when you post such drivel! This shows absolutely no respect for the deceased.

Wow, how painful is this? There is no one who can sing like Whitney. What an amazing gift of voice she pocessed. My heart and prayers go out to her daughter, her mother, sister and yes………… her ex husband. I don’t know where Bobby Brown is in his life. I pray he is drug free because Bobbie Kristina is going to need him. He is her father and Whitney was her mother. The love this child has for her parents is still a bond. A bond that will never go away. So my prayer is that God will always walk before Bobby when he speaks to her and comforts her in her time of need. I hope he can remeember the good times and lift Whitney up instead of put her down. Even though BK is 18, she’s still a child. Most of all I pray the entire family gets some help. Maybe……. just maybe they can give this young lady a fighting chance at this life. We all know she will never get over this but evenually she’ll be able to live with this as well as appreciate the joy and fun both her parents brought to this world. (Whitney more than Bobby) Y’all know we were dancing to Bobby Browns music too!!!!! So let’s just pray for all of them. R.I.P. Whitney.

THEY HAVE MADE THEIR MILLIONS AND THEY’RE OLD TO US. FRESH FACES WIN OSCARS. PRODUCE SOME OTHER WRITERS AND STOP ABSORBING ALL THE CREDIT. YOU’RE ALREADY A HERO TO SOME, SO YOU HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO PROVE, BUT TO BE THE GREATEST OF ALL, LEFT AND PULL SOME OTHERS UP. AT THE END OF THE DAY YOU WILL GET PAID FOR ALL THEIR WORK TOO, AND GET SOME CREDIT. ***REMEMBER WE ALL ARE A BREATH AWAY FROM HEAVEN OR HELL***

PRIVATE JET!!!!! HMMMM SOME PEOPLE WILL DO ANYTHING TO BE A PART OF THE HYPE. THE FAMILY DID NOT NEED THE GENEROSITY, NOR WAS IT NECESSARY. WE ALL KNOW YOU HAVE ATTACHED YOURSELF TO SOME OTHER BIG NAMES OUT THERE, AND YOU HAVE BE-FRIENDED THEM. HOWEVER, GETTING IN ON WHAT I SEE IS A STUNT FOR MORE MEDIA ATTENTION IS DOWN RIGHT TERRIBLE. IT MAKES US LOOK LIKE WE’RE NOT USE TO ANYTHING. (SHOW OFF). WOULD YOU HAVE DONE THAT FOR A B OR C LIST CELEB??? MS. HOUSTON FAMILY DID NOT NEED THAT.
