Did you love Madonna’s medley during the Super Bowl halftime? Or .. not?
The performer arrived via a parade of gladiators, decked out in Egyptian garb but managed a number of costume changes. She was joined at various times during the set by Cee Lo Green, Nicki Minaj, M.I.A. and the quirky LMFAO.
M.I.A. decided to cap her role by giving fans the one-finger salute, for some reason. While it lacked the shock value of Janet Jackson’s “wardrobe malfunction,” it was nonetheless a low-rent move for which officials have hustled to apologize.
“The obscene gesture in the performance was completely inappropriate, very disappointing and we apologize to our fans,” Brian McCarthy, spokesman for the NFL, which produced Madonna’s halftime show, said in a statement released to the Associated Press.

We need this sequined Snuggie. AP photo
And what would a football game be without a few fumbles? MTV helpfully posted video clips of Madonna losing her footing at times. Given her sky-high boot heels and a set that had to be assembled in a matter of minutes, we’re surprised she didn’t break something.
Perhaps it’s our loyalty to a performer with Atlanta ties, but we just loved Cee-Lo’s role in “Like a Prayer.” And we want to know where to get a sequined Snuggie like the one he was wearing.
In other celebs-at-the-Super-Bowl news, Fox Sports has posted a gallery of folks who attended Super Bowl themed festivities. Note Atlanta’s own Jermaine Dupri spinning at the Maxim party!
“Yo I was just beside the stadium,” Dupri tweeted a few hours before kickoff on Sunday. “They’re getting 450 for parking. Is that good or crazy?”
We’re assuming he meant $450 and not $4.50, in which case it sounds like the invisible hand of the free market was fully extended yesterday. Go capitalism!
And finally, we had to love the thoughtful post-game commentary of Gisele Bundchen, aka Mrs. Tom Brady:
“You (have) to catch the ball when you’re supposed to catch the ball,” snapped. “My husband cannot (blanking) throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can’t believe they dropped the ball so many times.”
She’s standing by her man, y’all. Here’s a full report of her gracious comments, courtesy of Us Magazine.
So, Monday Morning Quarterbacks, have at it. What where your favorite celebrity highlights during the game?

Springstein, The Who, Paul McCartney, and The Rolling Stones all gave great performances in recent years. Janet Jackson, Madonna, and The Black Eyed Peas were all pretty average. Image of substance. Pop vs Rock. I am just glad they keep country stars off the stage.

Is it just me or does Ce Lo look like an Umpa Lumpa?? I was waiting for Gene Wilder, AKA Willy Wonka to come on set to tell Ce Lo to come along now….

I don’t understand why everyone keeps talking about Madonna’s age. . . at least she is still in the game. She’s working making music and doing what she does — unlike some younger celebs. She looks good and I thought her performance was damn good. Haters never quit!

@KimZ’sPackage – M.I.A. is not African American. Please correct your hateful words the next time you decide to speak them!! I mean really….everyone that’s brown skinned is not black. Idiot box!

Jac, I’m with you. I don’t know why the main topic on all the sites is Madonna’s age. Much older men like the Stones, U2 & Paul McCartney have all performed in the last few years and they didn’t get trashed cause of their age. This is the only country that think women over 50 should be sent to concentration camps.
