John Travolta, who has come South to film a movie co-starring Robert De Niro, was spotted dining in Buckhead Tuesday night.
We’re told he and three friends dined at The Palm, where he already has a signed caricature on the wall. Folks recognized him, of course, but let him enjoy his lobster and flourless chocolate cake in peace. He was gracious and friendly to those who did stop by to say hello.
Oh, just coincidentally, former Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin happened to be dining at The Palm at the same time. A happening place!
The Travolta-DeNiro movie is called “Killing Season,” which Variety sums up thusly: “De Niro will play an American military veteran who has retreated to a remote cabin in the Appalachian Mountains, where he strikes up an unlikely friendship with a European tourist (Travolta) who’s actually a former Serbian soldier bent on revenge.”
The thriller will be filming mostly north of here, in Rabun County and thereabouts.

Mr. Awesome, PLEASE tell me you had your tongue firmly implanted in your cheek when you wrote that! I’ve never been so embarrassed for a group of actors in my life as I was when I watched that absolute piece of crap movie.

John actually came North from his home in Anthony Florida. He lives there 10 months a year. He is an incredibally nice person if you can get past the 717 landing in his pasture.

Rain Man, the plane you’re referring to is a Boeing 707, not a 717.

The Palm???? Goes to show you that money and fame cannot buy good taste. The Palm wouldn’t even make my top five list of steakhouses. An over priced and mediocre tourist trap for pseudo stars, wannabees, nuevos and tourists (even famous ones).

Best wishes and lots of love to the Travolta family. Kelly and John have endured family tragedy and continue to work and thrive. Good folks who happen to be movie stars…

@Rock God: I thought the same thing. I’ve been a John Travolta fan since his Vinnie Barbarino days, but hearing him try to pull off THAT sort of accent…Brooklyn yes, THAT….um. Not so much.

Yeah, “Battlefield Earth” might be the worst movie I’ve ever seen. A close runner up is “The Sasquatch Gang,” which I watched on cable a few weeks ago. There’s two hours I’ll never get back.

Ms. Brett: I I would like to know what happened to your Buzz piece1-24-12 that showed a “fake” picture of Matt Ryan “drunk” Nice scoop on that. I have contacted your editor to let him know of my displeasure with “your so called sources” and the need for you to publish incorrect trash… You could not tell that picture you posted was not Matt Ryan…. WOW…

One of the few from Hollywood doing it the right way…one woman, one family, and with integrity and the highest of character.
Some of my fellow bloggers above could stand to learn a little something about such qualities

John Travolta grew up a town away from my dad’s gas station in Tenafly, New Jersey. His dad owned Englewood Tire, I believe and my dad owned Tenafly Getty. He or really his driver would stop for gas late at night after he’d be in “The City!” It has been interesting watching his life from a distance. He has had heartbreaks along with much success.

We don’t usually comp meals, Bob. Mister Travolta paid and tipped very well, as well as gave a few of our staff members autographs! In terms of business, we are doing better than ever – with twenty thousand coming in that night alone.
