This still from VH1 shows cast members Kassandra Clementi, from left, Stacey Dash (who has since left the show), LisaRaye McCoy, and Charity Shea.
**** Update, 4:30 p.m.: I’m hearing from a number of folks that the email accounts listed below seem to be overloaded, and people are having their emails bounce back. Sorry about that. It happens sometimes with casting call email accounts. Try waiting a while.****
The VH1 show “Single Ladies” needs extras for its upcoming season.
Casting folks say they are “searching for super attractive, sexy, hot African American women ages 25-35 height and weight proportionate.” who are available Jan. 20.
If that’s you email three photos and your dimensions along with contact information to Singleladies2atl@gmail.com. Put “HOT” in the subject line.
They also need “high society matron types ages 45-60″ who can work Jan. 23 and Jan. 27. These extras need glamourous wardrobes and a confident style. If that’s you email three photos and all your specs to singleladies2atl@gmail.com. Put “MATRON” in the subject line.
VH1 told my colleague Rodney Ho that the show will be filming this month and that the season airs this summer. He also reported that Stacey Dash left the show after one season, replaced with Denise Vasi. Here’s a link to that blog post.
During the first season, “Single Ladies” did quite a bit of filming in Buckhead, at locations including the Terminus building. We’ll keep an eye out to let you know where filming takes place this time.

Isn’t this lame? I keep telling people Atlanta is NOT the new Hollywood. By the time they come to town to shoot the project, principal casting is done. For as long as I can remember they only cast extras when they come to town. You can count on ur hands the number of times a major production came to town and still set out to cast lead roles. GTFOH. And this show sucks anyway.

No age group for the 40 to 45? I see its only for 45-60 and 25-35.

Originally the story was Denise Vasi was a NEW character not a replacement of Stacey Dash’s character. Which is correct?

Ronnie, yes that’s correct. Dash’s character is gone and Vasi’s character is new.

I will not be watching this show since Stacey Dash is gone, she was the only one worth watching. The rest of the women can’t act at all.

Stacey Dash is not the best actress – but – she was the best actress on the show, “Single Ladies.” That being said, I will not be watching that crapola again!!! I usually watch anything that has to do with Atlanta, but I can barely stomach the crappiness this show has to offer!

people give tyler perry too much credit too. how many of the actors in his movies and tv show lived in atlanta before landing the roles? I’m not throwing shade, but I’m not jumping on the band wagon or over compensating TP either. He drug in Kim Kardash and Brandy. If those roles are so small, y not audition some local talent?

Can white south African Americans try out? They are African Americans. If you are black but from the carribean can you attend or do you have to have ancestry directly back to the Mutha Land?
Does the show need any middle age white men to come in and be the evil empirical villains that most black shows portray us to be?

Loved watching the show because I am a fan of Stacey Dash…She played the only interesting character on the show, while the others played to the stereotypical negative female types. Stacey’s natural beauty and her character were refreshing to watch for once…So sick of seeing fake hair weaves, loud, insecure, weak, immoral, unattractive, and ruthless women of any color on television…Not all women relate to that…So why did Stacy quit?

@ Sally it’s a show featuring BLACK americans, not it’s not racist. for the same reason 90% of the shows on television have castings specifically for white people. At Kris Humphries, who said Atlanta was the new Hollywood? You did! And if you dont like the show dont watch it! Watch dumb a** lame a** Khardashians instead. @ Ron Burgandy and Don Eyemus you’re not worth my spit much less my words!

I can tell that you are a mega-fan of the show, and sorry, but I feel compelled to waste my spit on you (actually it’s a waste of metacarpophalangeal muscle memory) but anyway…
This is the worst Tyler Perry show out there. What was his idea anyway for this –
‘Sex in the City’ for poor people. Girls trying out for this show should take their act were it really belongs – Jersey Shore.

I did not like the first episode of the show, and decided not to watch. Later, after missing a few episodes, I thought I’d give them another chance, and then I started liking it. I think it is just a remix and updated version of “Living Single.” I was entertained while watching, and look forward to the new episodes. I was never a big fan of Stacey Dash, and I don’t think her absence will detract from the show. At least it is fiction, and not another reality show.
As for the casting call, I think it is better that the casting folks say explicitly up front what they are looking for for those roles so that I, and others who do not fit that description, don’t waste our time submitting photos, emails, etc.and not get selected. It seems to be a legitimate process for screening for that show.
