Denzel Washington is here filming a movie called “Flight.” The action-adventure thriller also stars John Goodman, Don Cheadle and Melissa Leo.

The project did some shooting last week in the Sandy Springs-Dunwoody area, at St. Joseph’s Hospital and an apartment complex off Glenridge. This week the movie is filming in Covington.

In his downtime Washington’s been spotted a few times, most recently over the weekend. He and a couple of buddies dined Saturday night at The Tavern at Phipps. We’re told it was a quiet, low-key gathering.

“Flight” sounds like an intriguing film. The screenwriter, John Gatins, recently told MTV News that “It’s an R-rated drama, it’s like a movie from the ’70s that the studios don’t really make anymore.” Here’s a link to that story.
