Bette Midler and Marisa Tomei spent most of Friday at the Perimeter Mall Bloomingdales. They were there to work, not to shop!
(Although we hear Bette was eyeing a pair of J brand dark denim skinny jeans. We also hear Marisa likes Uggs and wore them while running through a rehearsal of the scene.)
The ladies and hundreds of crew members were at Perimeter filming a movie known by several different names. We think it’s “Parental Guidance” now although it’s been called “Us and Them” and “Call Me Artie” in the past. Maybe they’re still working out the title with test audiences? The signs in the mall parking lot directing crew members where to go all said “Artie.”
The movie also stars Billy Crystal, and has been filming in Alpharetta. We hear the project moves in town next week.
As you might expect no one was able to get near the talent with a camera. Our sources on the inside say employees were banned from bringing their phones to work and were prohibited from approaching the actresses.
So, intrepid reporter that I am, I shot these very exciting pictures of all the trucks and equipment in the parking lot. (Hey, I tried!)
If you were at the mall yesterday and wondered what was up, mystery solved!

My daughter spent from 7am until almost 9pm as an EXTRA on Friday. Made $100, but more importantly will get into the pool of people looking for a shot in the industry. She was an EXTRA many years ago when they were filming, Remember the Titans here.
