Storms shutter Atlanta Symphony Showhouse

2011houseThe Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s 2011 Decorators’ Show House will be closed today due to downed trees and power lines in the area. The damage knocked out power to the home.

The house will reopen on Wednesday, and thereafter is scheduled to be open for tours through May 8. For hours of operation, tickets and other information see the event web site.

A presentation by silver historian Joseph P. Brady, which had been planned for tonight, has been canceled, as organizers were unsure when the power might be restored. That event may be rescheduled.

Known as the “Lotus House,” the home is at 1945 West Wesley Rd. Events surrounding the tour, including a series of luncheons and lectures, benefit the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.

Although the lights are out, somebody’s home. Security guards are there keeping watch.
