Longtime local radio personality Vikki Locke celebrated her birthday in style this week.

She had agreed to host a pajama Bingo party benefiting Pets Are Loving Support, held Wednesday at the Jungle Club.

What she didn’t know is that her friends actually had a surprise party for her in mind!

The B 98.5 FM Morning Show host was feted by industry pals including Tom Sullivan, Will Gara and Jessica Forkel, and a host of longtime friends announced a slew of fabulous gifts.

Wishing the birthday girl well, from left, were Lewis Perkins, Kelly Nelson, Richie Arpino and John Gibson.

After Larry Hammack of Foxgloves & Ivy presented Vikki with an enormous bouquet of fresh flowers,caterer-to-the-stars Tony Conway presented a certificate for a catered dinner party for eight; John Stupka of Blue Med Spa presented the gift of relaxation and Chuck Kneeland of Steel and John Gibson of the Ansley Park Playhouse contributed an array of amusing knick-knacks.

Well, wouldn’t you know Vikki donated her gifts just moments after receiving them? They’ll be auction items at the May 1 PALS Pet Cotillion, which will be held at Piedmont Bark. (Minus the flowers, which will be a lovely dried bouquet by then).

This week’s party raised $3,600 for PALS, which provides care to the companion animals of elderly or critically ill Atlantans. “What a wonderful night!” said PALS executive director Kevin Bryant.

I really wish the AJC would just shut down being able to comment on all stories…it’s usually just mean spirited garbage from people who are clueless. Take away this feature and maybe these jerkoffs who take cheap shots will learn their lesson. (who am I kidding?)

I think giving flowers is an insult. It’s like sayining “here’s some flowers…..Now watch them die”
