NeNe Leakes: Star Jones “is a disaster”

NeNe Leakes of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” and more recently, “Celebrity Apprentice,” will appear on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” today. The show airs weekdays at 4 p.m. on WXIA.
According to a transcript the show sent us, they’ll be discussing Leakes’ fellow “Apprentice” cast member Star Jones.
They’re not exactly best buddies.
“She is bossy, she is manipulative, conniving,” Leakes said of Jones. “She is controlling. I think that she knows. Yeah. She looks in the mirror, she better know.”

Jones has been vocal about Leakes as well, telling Daytime Confidential, “We’re not on the same level. Let’s make that clear. We’re on the same show.”
In case that was unclear she added, ”Cream rises to the top and water seeks its own level.”
Jones also noted, “They cast the show based on what they thought would generate good ratings. This was not a show about friendship.”
(And if everyone got along, who would watch, right?)
Apparently their relationship was strained from the beginning.
“When I walked into the situation, I tried to walk in with no preconceived notions,” Leakes told DeGeneres. “I was just thinking, ‘Okay, I’m going to do the show. I’m going to get to know who Star is.’ I think she had preconceived notions of who she thought I was just from watching me on the ‘Housewives.’ I think she thought I was going to come in and take over. I tried to get to know her. Some people are difficult to get to know. She’s not easiest person to get to know. She is a disaster.”
Could they work things out?
Uh, maybe.
“I don’t think she’s easy to get along with,” Leakes said. “She’s a tough girl. We’re kind of okay. I’m trying to feel her out right now.”

I’m not understanding how Ne Ne can have so much hate towards every one she come in contact with. I hate the way she talks to Kim on the show,she does not have any class what so ever!! It does not matter how much money she’s making, she still has an awful attitude, which makes her ugly inside and out.

When one person has a degree and another one doesn’t, they are considered substandard.? Aren’t we ALL valuable and worthy in God’s eyes, no matter what we bring to the table.? That’s like saying, that because you have money and I don’t, you are the most valuable; if I put $2.00 in the collection plate, and you put in $2000, God loves you more than me Fortunately, all the value that a person holds in this life, doesn’t come from having a law degree, money,or the most friends. Consider that.

@melvinowens, since when did a degree (undergraduate or graduate) qualify you for a spot in reality tv? I thought the more outrageous you were the better the ratings (which I assumed it was all about). I mean look at the Kardashians for example, what degrees/talents do any of the sisters or the mom for that matter posess?? None, well except for Kim who brought the family there fame and fortune by starring in a sex tape with Ray J.

OK! We can all point fingers at each other and whose race is superior. The fact of matter is we all have problems in this country depending on demographics. I mean look at Charlie Sheen and the idiot who shot the congresswomen neither are person(s) of color. We have lowdown, disgusting people in every corner of this country. I don’t think Bernie Madoff was of color or any of the politicans outright cheating on their wives. The problem in Atlanta is the large population of African-Americans and the horrible image portrayed in the media. Star and NeNe are not on the same playing field one has a Juris Doctorate “Law Degree” the other I assume has a High School Diploma. Star should allow NeNe to make an idiot of herself and not lower herself to unwarranted drama.
Atlanta has become a bed of hate when minorities started to appear in segregated communities and marching into corporate boardrooms. There are people who can’t handle the success of our people; therefore, kill them with kindness dare not banter on a worthless blog. Wake up people stop defending people you don’t know as a result of race. NeNe will cash or deposit her checks as uneducated as she may appear from time to time. Race, race, race find something else to disagree on like whether or not the pollen effects your allergies it’s GREEN.

In this case degrees don’t matter. I, personally, do see Nene as being extremely “vocal”, so I choose not to watch her show. I have personally never been a fan of Star, so I choose not to watch anything she particpates in either. However, Star is not elevated above Nene because of knowledge. They both are doing what it takes to keep their names out there. Whether you love them or hate them – they are getting paid regardless.
The one degree that alot of people don’t have, which to me Star seems to lack and that is a CSD “Common Sense Degree”. It was evident in the gentleman that she chose to marry.
Never will I put down a person because of the education they have – sometimes being educated isn’t enough – especially if you aren’t doing anything with it.

If only these women could see the reason why they’re being asked on these shows – it’s to allow them to make pure fools of themselves on national television. I’ve never heard of Nene Leakes but suddenly she’s everywhere…and not in a good way. If she could see those hosts are only mocking her.

I call them ” Tyler Perry’s Walmart Girls”. No class, everything about them is nasty, the only thing they do the best is whip their head back and forth and their fingers. MR. Trump only Tyler Perry picks these walmart girls for his projects, how did you get into these, Mr Trump you need to be carefull and your daughter and sons because these walmart girls will whip all your ass if you say “fired”.

Condolences to Elizabeth Taylor’s family and friends. She was a great actress and AIDS activist. As for Star and NeNe, I see Star as nasty and controlling. NeNe has been restrained and a team player on Celebrity Apprentice.

itamazesme: I agree with you 100%; however, if everything ended for Star the fame and public limelight. She can always walk back into a courtroom and make a successful living. We have to push education whether we step on toes or not. It’s way too many nameless celebrities ended up homeless and broke as there was no formative education to fall on. I get so upset that our community continues to downplay education; however, my kid will be the next Beyonce’ or Kobe mentality. The school of life will only take you so far; however, book sense will always be better than borrowed.

Gawd, If nothing else, please stop going on ad nauseam about any one Black person in the entertainment world, or anywhere else, being an embarrassment to the rest of us. When I do wrong or act out in public, it embarrasses only Me. Ne-Ne, Star,or no other Black person, is the blueprint from which ALL other Black folk are made from. we are as different in our demeanor, as we are in our hues, so stop the nonsense!

@Biggie..Thank you..I really enjoyed your post..I do have one question for you (or anyone)..You call yourself black, why do others keep calling themselves African American? Most of these people have never even been to Africa, so why do they think that they are African?

Becky: Please not that we are called African-Americans as this the mother land from which are people were taken and brought to America and placed in slavery. I am sure you have seen African people or just google Africa and take a good luck. The ironic thing is that women were raped and humilated by white slave owners which diverted the color of our skin and hair textures. Also, note that slaves were sold to other nations and so forth which made our race a HUGE melting pot. I hope this helps!!!! Sad huh……

The logic is very flawed to suggest that character trait of an indivdual is synomynus to a group. Mrs. Leakes is representatve of Mrs. Leakes. Condaleeza Rice is repesentative of Condaleeza Rice. Both women are total opposites in character and don’t represent all black females. Personalities are diverse from person to person and character is different from person to person. To make a genralization about race based on personality and character isn’t very bright. African Americans have survived in our country for years under inhumane laws and inhumane behavior towards a person of color. I highly doubt that crime,drugs, poverty, iliteracy or anything you can imagine will be the cause of extinction of the Black Race. African Americans are survivors and will continue to survive and we will hurt one another and also love one another. We have a legacy of overcoming obstacles and being Survivors. Peace and Love to all.
