Ted Williams, the “Golden Voice,” to star in reality show

Ted Williams, whose “Golden Voice” propelled him from homelessness to instant fame, will be featured in a reality show, TMZ reports.

Who didn’t see this coming?

The site says that Williams, whose dulcet tones catapulted him off a highway ramp and into the national spotlight after Doral Chenoweth III, a video journalist from the Columbus Dispatch videotaped him talking, will start filming in a couple of weeks.

(That’s right – this YouTube sensation owes his instant fame to a newspaper journalist. Can we get a shout-out for our print brethren at the Columbus Dispatch? OK, we digress.)

Anyway, the show will be called “Second Chances at Life,” and will feature his story along with those of other people who somehow arrive at Act 2 in their own lives.

Williams’ instant success story hasn’t been a fairy tale, of course. After the initial flood of attention and job offers for voice work came a short-lived stint in rehab. Williams told the Columbus Dispatch it all happened “a little too fast.”

Update: want a T-shirt? Say something NICE. I’m tired of the negative comments! Pleasant comments will be entered into a random drawing.

By no means any disrepect to Mr Williams or his lovely mother, but I would love to at least hear the man’s mother lift him up with her words. Words are powerful, especially when we as mothers (and fathers) speak them into the lives of our children. Yes, and even the grown ones. He could very well be a product of words that were spoken into his life that he accepted as truth and they took root. Let’s all make something good happen with our “words”

Reading these blogs makes you realize just how miserable people are! It takes way to much energy to be negative. My prayers go out to Ted and everyone else suffering from addictions. Negativity is also an addiction, I also pray for all of you as well!

@Justin – I believe it’s a realistic statement that he could end up back in jail within a year. I don’t believe Mr. Williams is a thug – just a guy who ended up on the wrong side of the tracks. Drugs and alcohol are not easy to overcome in many cases, and people do ‘fall off the wagon’. I certainly wish him the best, and, as I stated earlier, I hope he takes full advantage of his 2nd chance.

He has a beautiful voice, and I hope he comes to his senses and leaves his past behind and thinks about his future!

I was thinking we all need to be mindful our comments (good or bad) we leave. Our comments MAY be featured future episodes of his show!

If you start trash talkin Mr Williams ya’ll gonna be the very ones who will be tuning in each week to cheer him on and or to see what happens next! So ya’ll need to take a Napkin and wipe the BS from your mouths and fingers and keep it movin’ cause here comes Ted Williams to claim his second chance! Remember if you read this article and comment good or bad you’ll be watching lol

I wish him well, but leaving rehab early and entering reality tv is not a good beginning. He will be in my prayers.

People, why don’t you wait and see what he can do before you all have him falling on his face. I believe Mr. Williams will try hard not to let the devil take over again. He has a lot of folks pulling for him and I don’t think Mr. Williams really wants to be back out on the streets again. He’ll have it all as long as he stays sober and off drugs. Mr. Williams, I wish you the very best and much success.
