“Real Housewives” guest star in real trouble

A reality show personality who bills herself as a “trendsetter, entrepreneur, and shoe consultant to the stars” is facing some legal drama following a fracas at a New York nightclub.

Rashidah Ali, who has appeared on “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” has been accused of assaulting bouncer Joseph Wright. The New York Daily News has posted a gruesome photo of the damage to Wright’s face.

His lawyer was quick with a camera-ready quote, telling the Daily News, “We think Ali should be on “The Real Housewives of Rikers Island.”

The lawyer, Paul Edelstein, said his client is suing Ali for $10 million. Here is a link to the story that details the allegations against Ali.

The Daily News said Ali did not respond to their calls seeking comment. The AJC has also contacted Ali seeking comment; we will post her response if we hear back. She hasn’t made any mention of the allegations on her Twitter account, instead posting lighthearted comments like, “Good Morning Tweeties!”

Ali appeared on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” when her boutique, B Chic Shoetique on Piedmont Road, put on a trunk show for the ladies at the Loews Hotel during an episode that aired last year. Of course, that was also the episode where NeNe Leakes and Dwight Eubanks got into a big spat, so you might not recall the shoes as much as the scrapping from that episode.

AJC WHY DO YOU OPEN COMMENTS TO SOME STORIES BUT NOT OTHERS? Tired of RHOA getting a comments section to dog this show or african americans out….

ThankGoodness…they open comments to stories that will generate feedback (regardless whether its good or bad). The more hits they get the better. If it’s not an incendiary or divisive story there’s no money it.

Man, this chick is headed straight for “da pokey”. She IS NOT a reality show star. If in wasn’t for the RHOA episode where Nene and Dwight got into it, I wouldn’t even remember this chick. Some people will do anything for a little lime light. So sad. I’m in the wind.

I don’t know why they bother opening comments up at all… every time they do it comes back to race anyways…. we could be talking about a snow storm in Austria… and it will come back to black people need to do this or white folks need to do that….

What color do call that shade of blue painted on her nails? What a horrible shade. It reminds me of something a “working girl” would wear to attract attention to herself.

(O.O) @ the damage! That pic is nothing to play with. He’s scarred for life. I don’t even know who this chic is, but my guess is she better hire private 24hr security and watch her back regardless of court activity. She just looks like trouble and drama.

@Jennifer Brett…i would like you to click on ANY OTHER STORY on page one of ajc.com and tell me which one is open for comments….PLEASE DO SOME RESEARCH BEFORE YOU GIVE A DISMISSIVE GENERIC ANSWER. This is consistently done about RHOA stories and stories about M. Vick.

This is not a “blog” topic, it is a story on the access atlanta section

A pack of morons lol This is so much comedy and shouldnt be considered real journalism? Or should it? Yes- RHOA is always a buzz topic because the show is about Atlanta housewives and I might be going out on a limb by adding that this is an Atlanta based newspaper lol. Evidently this article is a segment designed to get feedback about how stupid and gainfully aware regarding insignificant matters people are. I mean why else would people use this as a forum for hate and to spew out senseless chatter? Tsk tsk – to be continued I’m sure.

“ThankGoodness”, I thought I was the only one that felt as you do. It does seem as if there is a blog link available nearly every time a story features an African-American, while White role models like Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, and Christina Aguilera (who recently flubbed “The Star Spangled Banner”) don’t get a blog link with their stories. Because of this type of disparity and the allowed racist comments made by people who don’t have the courage to spew their idiocy in places like Bankhead, I cancelled my AJC subscription over 3 years ago. I do buy the Sunday paper for $1 on Saturdays to get the coupons. :-)

@SMH… let’s not take it there…. do you really wanna go down that road? Racism is alive, and will be for a long long time, but who cares what does or doesn’t have a comment section? There are kids dying in the street and we care about some self-serving phony people on a scripted TV show and whether or not we can let a bunch of anonymous people read what we have to say about them… THIS IS INSANE!!!!

This stuff can hardly be considered News in the first place… it serves a distraction from the real front page stuff.

Thanks. That was the one I was referring to. However, why didn’t the headline read, “Christina Aguilera Flubs National Anthem”, like this one, which references “RHOA”? I didn’t even know who Ms. Ali is until the reference to “Real Housewives”. I still don’t remember her being on the show. Oh, yeah, nobody would have read the article if it didn’t have the “Real Housewives” reference. However, just about everybody and their grandma knows who Ms. Aguilera is, yet, the article is titled, “Monday Morning Quarterback: Super Bowl Entertainment”. Wow.

“Verse”, it’s already been taken there, and “it” has made “itself” at home. I care because I’m tired of racism being fostered in the media. I do agree with you, that this “stuff” is not really news. Also, I do care about the “kids dying the street”. That’s why I try to educate any child that I come into contact with about making smart life choices. Thanks.

@SMH, if you cancelled 3 years ago, what are you doing here? This is not an article to click on for up to the minute world news. You chose to read it. “Stories” like this one will continue to make headlines as long as there is an interest. And clearly there is an interest. I am not disagreeing with you on any racial issues that may or may not exist. But the fact of the matter is that you chose to read this article. Kind of a pot and kettle thing I do believe.

“Whatever”, I would refer you to Cee-Lo’s most recent song, but I’m too much of a Christian. Sweetie, you clearly missed my point. It is also clear that you don’t understand the disparity that I pointed out. It’s always funny to me how the people that are unaffected are the ones who criticize the affected ones who speak up and out. By the way, since you want to know why I’m on here, I’m on here because I’m grown, nosy, and want to see if my theory has been disproven yet. Guess what? It hasn’t.
