Chrysler
I say Eminem is this year’s Super Bowl MVP.
Most valuable pitchman.
Both the ads he appeared in, for Brisk and Chrysler, were super. The Chrysler ad made me want to buy a Chrysler and drive it to Detroit.

VW
The VW “Darth Vader” ad is getting lots of buzz. In fact it started getting attention before the game, as VW posted it on social media networks in advance. So it felt familiar by the time it aired. It was understated and sweet.

Best Buy
Justin Bieber showed some self-effacing humor in the ad for Best Buy he filmed with Ozzy Osbourne. Tag line: “What’s a Bieber?”
“All I’m gonna say is if you can laugh at yourself life is more fun,” the teen superstar tweeted.
I thought the Android ad, with the thumbs sticking out of the robot, was sort of creepy. Did you like the Dorito’s ads? Pepsi Max? Bud? Coca-Cola? What was your favorite?

Down year for commercials; however the Darth Vader ad was my favorite. Nothing Eminem does short of falling off a cliff would make me excited to see him on television. The Doritos ad with grandpa coming back to life was good; the one with the sucking of the co-workers finger was more creepy than the Android commercial. Budweiser, usually the king of Super Bowl commercials, wins the “Most Disappointing Year” award.

Those Clydesdales should go on strike after that commercial. Of course, this is the crap we get when a foreign company buys out an American icon. Hope the Busch family choked on their beers last night.

Down year,
I agree with you. The Dorito’s ad about the office weirdo was just creepy.

Chrysler nailed it last night. Would I buy one of their products? More than likely not, but stirred my emotion and some allegiance to American made products without waving the flag in my face. I think they sold Detroit instead of the vehicle.

The Chrysler ad was really good. The Pepsi Max ads were weak. Doritos were pretty weird, and not in a good way. Overall, lame year.

the Pepsi Max ad with the wife hitting the girl in the head with the can. Only laugh all night except the look on Rothlisberger’s face when he got whipped (priceless).

Shouldn’t the Darth Vader VW ad have been for a Jetta rather than a Passat?

A lot of misses this year, but the hits were definitely:
1. The VW Darth Vader commercial
2. The Doritos commercial with the office guy
3. The Pepsi Max/Date ad
4. The CareerBuilder/monkey ad
Personally, I liked the Eminem ad for Chrysler and agree that it sold Detroit or even all American cars more than the Chrysler per se. Nonetheless, it was a great ad, and I’m glad Chrysler and Eminem did it.

This year the game was far, far better than the commmercials. It’s a shame that the great Budweiser commercials of the past will never be seen again. I’m a Miller Lite guy but I love those Bud Clydesdale horses.

The Doritos ones were the best. I laughed so hard at those, the Eminem ones weren’t good at all in my opinion, also House was extremely funny. Other wise everything sucked… this was the worst Super Bowl I’ve seen since I started watching them back in 98

The Imported from Detroit Chrysler spot was by far my favorite. You couldn’t help but get inspired to go out and buy an American car to help some down home hard working people. Loved the little Darth Vadar kid but couldn’t for the life of me remember what car it was for after it aired. Also loved the teaser ad for the upcoming VW bug cruising through bug world. Overall the car ads kicked ass, everything else sucked like Pittsburgh!

I thought the funniest commercial was the Kenny G/Audi collaboration. The unforturnate thing is that Audi decided to put such a smart commercial on during the biggest meathead night of the year, and nobody got it….

I liked the Detroit ad too even though I’m not an Enimem fan. Also like the Darth Vader but the number of Bud Light ads were overkill. Miss the classic Clydesdales, A-B can do better than this, still love their “thank you” ad with the applause in the airport terminal the best.
The unexpected ending for the Pepsi commercial made me laugh the loudest, just didn’t expect her to nail that jogger in the head.
And enough with the monkeys and babies already!

I like Doritos when I watch football.
As of 3pm on Monday afternoon, President Obama still hasn’t called to congratulate the Green Bay Packers on their Super Bowl victory over Coach Mike Tomlin and the Steelers.
However, this same President tripped over himself to congratulate Coach Tomlin when the Steelers won the Super Bowl the year before last.
Can you guess why?

“Keeping It Real”; The President doesn’t march to your own personal schedule. Is it at all possible that he has called to congratulate them, and he just didn’t give you a call to let YOU know he did ?

The funniest commercial during the Superbowl last evening by far, was the Pepsi Max commercial where the wife threw the can meant for her husband, at the blond girl. There was hardly any commercial that came close. Do you want to know why,”Keeping It Real”?

Just as Obama is THE WORST President in History, you are likely THE WORST blogger in history.

Hey KIR, you’re a douche, obviously you were in a coma for the 8 years W was in office. Is that Keeping It Real enough for ya KIR?
The funny commericals were :
Snickers and the Richard Lewis and Rosanne being whiners, nice take on last years Betty White ad.
The Doritos ad when the guy forget to feed the fish and found out Doritos had magic powers….
The VW ad w/ the kid was really good too.

My mom thought GoDaddy was a pornographic company. I hate their ads myself. Doritos was just plain awkward. I think I’ll opt for the Kroger brand.

2. NFL’s famous fans
3. Darth Vader

the best one was the VW/Darth Vader commercial — @Rennsport: too funny; never thought of that, but your comment rocked.
i liked the audi one, but agree that it might’ve been too cerebral for the super bowl. i like the dorito one up until they resurrected grandpa — that was creepy.
i just don’t understand how a company can pay that much for a spot and then just have such a lousy commercial. next year almost no one will remember these commercials (it’s only been 3 days and i’ve forgotten most of them). whatever happened to the truly amazing commercials that we used to see — so amazing that people would watch for the commercials as much as they did for the games.
why can’t we have commercials that are truly memorable? mean joe greene and the coke (i did love the house spoof of that this year though), the original macintosh commercial, ibm herding cats, bud weis er, larry vs michael for mcdonalds, etc. no one will remember anything from this year — unless how creepy the finger suck commercial was….
