Celebrity Apprentice co-star was afraid of NeNe Leakes
Niki Taylor signed an autograph for Sam Keith Jr. during her visit to Atlanta. Keith, of Raleigh, Ga., in the greater Warm Springs metro area, gave her a boiled peanut.
Supermodel Niki Taylor said she was sort of afraid of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” cast member NeNe Leakes when the two met during the filming of “Celebrity Apprentice.”
“She came on a little bit strong,” said Taylor, who stopped by the Atlanta Expo Center representing the Reader’s Digest “We Hear You America” campaign, which is making stops all across the nation, handing out prizes and stoking hometown pride (details: wehearyouamerica.readersdigest.com).
The NBC reality show begins at 9 p.m. March 6. Seeking Donald Trump’s approval along with Leakes and Taylor will be Gary Busey, Meat Loaf, La Toya Jackson, Mark McGrath, David Cassidy, Richard Hatch, Marlee Matlin, Dionne Warwick, Jose Canseco, Star Jones, Lisa Rinna, Lil Jon, John Rich and Hope Dworaczyk.
“I had a lot of fun doing it,” said Taylor, who said her fears of Leakes quickly subsided.
“There’s a very sweet side to NeNe,” she said. “She works hard. She brings it.”
Leakes, who did a short stint with WXIA as a celebrity interviewer last summer, has hinted that she might be ready to part ways with Bravo and try her hand at something else.
“I told her she needs her own show,” Taylor said.
We’re guessing Leakes might agree.

I’m thinking Trump is a pure genius for having her on the show. Nene is as intriguing as she is alienating. Look at the rest of the cast, and there isn’t anyone that would be a catalyst for ratings. I actually think she has a poisonous, toxic personality, and is surely not the brightest bulb in the box. Despite that she has worked those flaws into a financial bonanza. If nothing else it will be interesting, and she will broaden her anti-fan base just like Omarosa. Anyone who has never heard of her from RHOA is in for a treat…..

The majority of blacks do not act like nene leakes. Thats like me saying the majority of white people act like hillbillies and thats not true. Its about respect for yourself and others. I no how to conduct myself and people acknowledge that and give me highest respect. I have met people of all races on my job and some of them are different than me and have even met some nene leakes in white people. There are a lot of white women that display behavior just like black women and if their comfortable with it so am i as long as there is a mutual respect. People shouldnt have racist stereotypes like this it only prohibits progress. A nene leakes kinda person may one day stand up for you.

I think it is sad that for some reason every article posted on the AJC that has comments somehow gets into a racial issue. The sad part is this is 2011 and some of the comments on here makes me think we are back in the 50’s. I don’t see anything racist about her mentioning she was intimidated or a little afraid of Ne Ne. The lady just gave her honest opinion. Once she got to know her on an individual level the fear went away. So, what is the bid deal? If you must know, I am an African American male.

Was Nikki intimidated by stereotypes that are perpetuated regarding black women? Why would NeNe’s size be an issue as some of the ignorant comments have eluded to? Black woman are not by nature anorexic or emaciated as ‘white’ america expects one to look- she is a strong, outspoken, smart woman in my opinion. She calls it how she sees it- simple. I’m sure Nikki just felt a little nervous about her celebrity being overshadowed by NeNe. Thats not intimidation- thats just the breaks! And on a side note- I dont side with the comment about white people being intimidated in the office- MOST white people are however afraid of the unknown. All of the negativity & positivity about NeNe Leaks is only making her richer. She is an ACTRESS on RHOA, like the rest of the other ladies on RHOA & the other RH shows, people get over it. If people that watche RHOA thinks that is how women are portrayed in Atlanta, then they are idiots. Just like the title of the show, REAL HOUSEWIVES, only 3 are actually married. What Nikki Taylor said was probably taken out of content to just sell papers. Nevertheless, who cares. If acting up on the RHOA gets you paid as oppose to stealing, murdering, selling drugs, etc., so be it. Why does RACE or COLOR ALWAYS have to be in every topic.

NeNe is hood, vulgar, and lacks class, and so is Lisa. I would hope that NeNe performed the way she did on the show just for ratings. Same for Lisa, no one can be that morally wrong and skankish in real life, Lisa that is. So people it is made for tv, not to start a racially heated blog war!
