Actress Vivica A. Fox will be the keynote speaker at Fort Valley State University’s freshman convocation next week.
Fox, who is engaged to local club promoter Omar “Slim” White, will address the young scholars at 6 p.m. Jan. 26 in the C.W. Pettigrew Center auditorium.
No word on whether White will also be making the trip to Fort Valley, a town south of Macon and west of Bonaire and Perry. The two attended the opening of R&B artist Ne-Yo’s new Buckhead boutique on Tuesday.
Fox, of South Bend, Ind., earned an associate degree in social science from Golden West College. Her many big and small-screen credits include “Independence Day,” “Set it Off,” “Kill Bill, Vol. 1,” “Ella Enchanted” and “Soul Food,” along with TV Land’s “The Cougar,” and VH1’s “Glam God.” series.
