Teamwork! One Falcon rescues another after a snowy crash

Teamwork, on and off the field! John Abraham tweeted this photo

The Falcons didn’t take a snow day today, but practice didn’t exactly go off without a hitch. Player Kroy Biermann had to pluck his colleague John Abraham from a snow bank not far from the team’s practice facility.

Abraham chronicled the ordeal on Twitter.

Abraham's caption for this photo was merely, "Damn." He quickly followed with a tweet saying, "I'm the passenger so I wasn't being unsafe trust me I gt kids ain't tryna go no where any time soon."

“Just got on 985; should be to work in 20 (minutes),” he tweeted about 9:45 a.m. That was quickly followed by “We literally just crashed two exits away.”

Never fear, though. Biermann came to the rescue. “LOL. Teamwork,” Abraham tweeted about 10:15 a.m.

Others made it in after some rough sledding.

Trekking through the snow to get to the facility with (Sean Weatherspoon),” player Michael Palmer tweeted about 8 a.m. ”This is crazy.”

A little later, Weatherspoon tweeted, ”Just made it to Flowery Branch!” and then, “Seems like everyone is safe, Atlanta Falcons are at work!”

In other Falcons news, players Brian Finneran and Coy Wire are scheduled to participate in the Doggies on the Catwalk charity fashion show this Friday, where they will model creations by Grady High School UrbanCouture students. Atlanta Public Schools (and all other metro systems) canceled school today, so the players’ fashion fittings planned for today had to be canceled.

We’re confident things will work out. After all, the fashion show’s time was moved up and lineup arranged so that Wire and Finneran can take the stage at 7 p.m. and then split. They must be in their hotel rooms by 7:30 p.m., given the big game on Saturday.

And finally, since they are headed for a playoff game against the Green Bay Packers this Saturday, the Atlanta Falcons were looking to spend a little quality time with fans today.

Those plans are on hold, given the snow.

Players Curtis Lofton and Kroy Biermann were scheduled to make appearances at some Verizon Wireless stores today, while Falcons cheerleaders and Freddie Falcon were supposed to join in the fun.

The appearances have now been rescheduled for Wednesday, all from 6 to 8 p.m. Here is the lineup – for now. Some details may still change.

A player is scheduled to appear at the Lawrenceville store, 890 Lawrenceville Suwanee Rd. in Lawrenceville. Lofton was going to appear at this store today; a different player might be subbed in for Wednesday.

Freddie and the cheerleaders are taking it easy today. They'll see you Wednesday.

Freddie will appear at the Howell Mill store, 1801 Howell Mill Rd NW, Suite 700.

A player is scheduled to  appear at the North Point store, 7301 North Point Pkwy in Alpharetta. This was supposed to be Biermann but again, a different player might be subbed in. (Who knows, Biermann might have a part-time gig with the DOT by then!)

Festivities with games and cheerleaders are planned for the Kennesaw store, 423 Barrett Pkwy. and the  Morrow store, 1947 Mount Zion Rd.

We’ll keep you apprised of any updates.

Why didn’t we see that level of Falcons teamwork when “The Inarticulate, Drug-Using, Felonious, STD-Transmitting Dog-Killing Thug” was our Quarterback?

Rise Up out of that snowbank Falcons!

RISE UP!

Then, go take an English class to learn how to refrain from ending your sentences with prepositions.
