Former President George W. Bush and wife, Laura, will be here Thursday.
Former President George W. Bush, who has been making the rounds in support of his new book, “Decision Points,” will be here in Atlanta to sign it on Thursday.
Former First Lady Laura Bush, who was in town not long ago supporting her book, “Spoken From the Heart,” will return to Atlanta accompanying her husband. (Here’s a blog post from her visit earlier this year, during which she dined at South City Kitchen and made time for some antiques shopping.)
The former first couple will appear at 11:30 a.m. this Thursday at the Buckhead Borders, at 3637 Peachtree Rd. In order to meet them, you need to obtain a wristband in advance. Wristbands are available beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday at that Borders.
To receive the wristband you need to purchase both “Decision Points” and “Spoken From the Heart.” (Limit of two books per person). It sounds like security will be tight during their visit. During the appearance, you’ll need to leave all bags, purses and phones in your car.
For more information call the store at 404-237-0707.

I wasn’t a fan of former President George W. Bush. Since he left office, I’ve gained a little more respect for him. Whether we’re seeing the real him or a good marketing man for his book, I don’t know. I’d be interested in meeting him on Thursday. (Quietly, I don’t really want to buy Laura’s book, but I would like to read his)

I’m not a big Bush fan, but I respect him for not criticizing President Obama. That shows a lot of class on his part (unlike Dick Cheney who is just a load of wet steaming garbage).
I do like Laura Bush (even if she has questionable taste in men).

Steve,
Really? You, like most Libs, have a basic lack of understanding when it comes to the US constitution. GWB won every recount……and as such, he won Florida’s electoral votes. So, in effect, the US constitution was responsible for the election of GWB.
Hell if your Democratic Party stooge Al Gore had won his so-called home state, he’d been elected. Fortunately for the rest of us, the people of the great state of Tennessee saw through his Marxist BS.

Hey all you whining lefty liberal Socialists out there: your man Obama has turned out to be the worst President in modern times! He’s even worse than Jimmy Carter, and that is really saying something. Obama is an empty suit. No conviction, no passion, no leadership, no guts. Bush, on the other hand, had all of these attributes. The problem is that the leftist media portrayed him as an idiot, and you fell for it. Oration doesn’t equal leadership.

Wow! I thought this article was about the Bushes; not President Obama. Some of you probably dream about Obama since you make him a part of every discussion. It is possible to dislike someones politics and not hate the person you know. Admittedly, I was ready for Bush to step down from office, but I think that he and Mrs. Bush display a lot of class -something that most of you bloggers seem to know nothing about!

They are worth so much money because they…wait for it…inherited it! They’ve never had to work for a thing, unlike the Obamas who both came from lower-middle-class families and earned their own fortunes. Of course, some of the folks posting here are threatened by people of color who are high-achievers. It’s unfortunate, but true. I don’t hate the Bushes, but W. was a horrible president and I very much resent his bad choices as President. And I can’t imagine spending money for either of their ghost-written books because, frankly, they both bore me to tears.
