Anthony Williams was a fan favorite during his stint on “Project Runway” as much for his quick wit as his fashions, including the blue frock he created for Heidi Klum to wear on the cover of Marie Claire magazine.
If you have been missing his snappy one-liners, fret not, “The Diva” as he calls himself, will be meeting and greeting at 2 p.m. Saturday at Macy’s at North Point Mall in Alpharetta.
If he has his way you may be seeing Williams on air again soon. He told us in a phone interview this week that he is just back from Los Angeles, where he auditioned for a role as a talk show host. He isn’t supposed to give details.
He also said he’s designed a dress for an actress he considers to be “the girl version of me.” He wasn’t giving up her name. Aw come on.
“Jennifer Hudson,” he spilled after the gentlest of prodding. “She’s my muse. She has no clue I exist but I don’t care. I’m going to send it to her.”
He said he’s kept in touch with his fellow contestants and has watched subsequent ones snip and zip their hearts out.
“Most people didn’t compete enough as children,” he said, analyzing the show as a learned observer. “That’s why they’re such sore losers as adults!”
That’s the Anthony we love.
During his appearance at North Point Macy’s he’ll help you glam up for the winter and holiday seasons. The first 50 people to arrive get a special gift, and everyone will enjoy refreshments and music. His must-haves for fall include charm bracelets and oversize totes. Given the economy, he realizes not everyone can purchase pricey designer duds, so he advises sprucing up the basics with great accessories.
In his down time when he is home, he likes to keep things super casual.
“To be perfectly honest with you, I go to the Farmers Market and I buy two pounds of crab legs and have a good ole crab festival,” he said. ”I’m in the public eye so much that when I’m in my home, I like it to be simple.”
