T.I. sued by concert promoter

We might have to start calling him T.M.I.

Rapper T.I. is in the news yet again. This time Black America Web reports he has been sued by a concert promoter in Alabama who said he lost his life savings when T.I. failed to show up for a planned performance.

You can read that story here.

In other news T.I. gave the AJC a mention (shout-out is probably too strong a word) in this new single, “Get Back Up” featuring Chris Brown.

You can listen to it here.

The entertainer also known as Clifford Harris was spotted at the Atlanta Hawks game on Thursday night. That’s him, wearing a pair of stylish specs, above right.

After Nov. 1 and for the next 11 months, T.I.’s whereabouts will be pretty predictable and perhaps less newsworthy, given that he is returning to prison after a drug arrest while on probation for a drug charge.

Pretty soon, though, we’ll be looking for news of a “comeback” tour.

So I guess all of these “outings” is like someone before going into rehab. Strange turn of events. His “people promised us an interview but never produced their client. Maybe he was “too good” for our magazine – http://www.prisonworldmagazine.com Maybe on his SECOND STINT they will be more forthcoming. We shall see. Welcome to our world…again.

Poor T.I. seems to invite trouble into his young life.

Mebbe, this next stint in the crossbar hotel will give him time to reflect on his wrong choices. Man up T.I. and be a model of decency for young people when you return back to society. It’s time to let go of your innner thug.

Forget TI….lost my respect for him….if that was me violating parole, I would not have the luxury of going to a Hawks game…they would have sent me directly to prison….oh TI, you fooled no one with that staged stunt over at Colony Square…

Mr. Ed; I love the “Crossbar Hotel” reference. that was hilarious…lol But seriously, this guy does need to grow up in a major way. After he paid his way out of a long prison sentence previously, he is lucky to have only gotten 11 month this time. Us “regular” people would not have even been given that chance if we were caught buying an arsenal of guns in a parking lot. Perhaps he will learn his lesson this time. And yes, even Stevie Wonder could see that the Colony Square suicide jumper thing was totally staged. I mean.Come.-on. Are the people int he legal system idiots or what???

Lindsey Lohan gets rehab and TI gets prison! The pendulum of justice continues to swing left for African Americans.

Reverende, are you serious? You must be smoking the same thing TI was smoking when he violated probation. Probation from a flimsy sentence to begin with.

Wow. This isn’t a black white thing, it’s about being a celebrity and having money.

Why did the concert promoter utilize ALL of his personal funds for such a volatile business venture? Losing his life savings is just the result of a bad business decision, financially. If he was doing business properly his losses wouldn’t of been so severe. Also, the article doesn’t state whether or not tickets had been pre-sold. The promoter could’ve lost money if the concert didn’t generate enough income if TI showed up anyway. He couldn’t sue for that, would just have to take the hit.

TI is not the first, nor the last Artist to not show for a show, this is the music business and often times these contracts aren’t approved by the artist or his handlers/staff. This could easily be an attempt to capitalize on miscommunication and I am doubtful this case will be settled in the promoters favor.

I am not a TI fan nor hater, just found the article interesting from a business standpoint.

You might think that with those big arse glasses he would have seen more trouble coming his way. C’mon..those aren’t stylish..he looks like a moron. Just because you pay a lot of money for something doesn’t mean it looks good. I can’t understand why it’s so hard for him to appreciate FREEDOM. And Reverende this isn’t the same..Lindsay never had a gun rap, and I don’t think they ever even charged him for the weed he had back then. How Tiny aka Ms. Piggy hasn’t done some time is also a miracle, so for the most part he is still getting off easy. To me his biggest offense is parading himself in front of kids and preaching about something he can’t adhere to. Hypocrite!!!! He should never be allowed within 100 yards of a school….

@ Reverende. Are you joking or just stupid? T.I. as a convicted felon was on probation for attempting to buy illegal firearms. As a convicted felon he cant own legal ones! He got a sweetheart deal served a lot less time than someone without a lot of money would serve. He decided to thumb his nose at the legal system by drivng through LA and making an illegal u turn while holding drugs and in the company of a convicted felon. He’s going to jail for choices that he made.He tried to say he has an addiction after the fact..It nothing to do with black or white it to do with poor choices. And to his credit he has never blamed his issues on race. From one black dude to another one get the f@ck over it.

Totally a double standard, IKR with REV ! Give Lindsey a “Go to Jail” card. I don’t feel sorry for her. It’s just like these adult females having sex with minors. The crime is no different !! They all need punishment !! Equitable punishment !!

Reverende-

It isn’t a black/white thing, T.I. is a felon under federal custody. Lindsay is under state custody. There’s a huge difference in the two when you violate probation/parole. He hadn’t even faced charges in L.A. yet, this is just what the federal judge who gave him parole felt he deserved.

On another note, I agree with Pebblebeach. I used to love him, now I despise him. I will not buy another cd or let my children listen to his music. I’m sick of buying cds and supporting these drug addicts and losers. I think everyone deserves a 2nd chance, but not a 3rd, 4th, 5th….

You look like an a$$ when you go on all these talk shows and say how you appreciate a 2nd chance and tell children don’t do drugs, then you’re caught with them again! Moron and his wife…why is no one trying to take the kids from these losers????

OK. Let’s see …. Hilton, Lohan THUG were using drugs and he gets a bigger sentence …….. Hmmmmmm … Oh that’s right … His first conviction was for an already convicted FELON trying to bye MACHINE GUNS … Could that be the difference …… Could Be….. Once a THUG always a THUG. I hope he doesn’t break down and start crying again when he goes to jail like he did last time …..

State or Federal sentence makes no difference to me Lohan – TI, both need jail time for the crime. Think about it, Your “Butts” would be under a jail for committing any of these crimes. We know TI’s a Thug , but what is Lohan ?? A Crazed Druggie ?? She’s no better – She can do Rehab in prison for breaking probation. She’s Yall little “Darling Princess” ?????

Standard, I thought the same thing when I saw those stupid eyeglasses. I love how the defense attorneys are trying to completely change Ms. Michael’s look from thugette to 35-year-old secretary. What a joke. That woman deserves every day in prison she’ll get when the jury convicts her.

No T.I. wouldn’t stage a suicide to help in his case. Are you serious? That almost tragic incident wouldn’t have helped him in any way at that point. Stupid comments…get a life and you wouldn’t be concerned about his life…look at your own…HATERS!

Sorry to say but T.I. is the result of his own life choices and 11 months in prison will not change him.
Rehab is a better option to help him break the life journey he is on which will lead him to destruction.
He has come from a life of horror so the only freedom will come by his choice to break the cycle or
he will be doomed to a life that is on a dead end.

Im wit both Reverende & JB. Money is why both Ms Lohan and Mr Harris is getting off easy. Its a crying shame but I do believe Lindsey being a white women does play a part because she has also violated probation multiple times because of her addiction. SAD :(
