The New Senoia Raceway is ready for its closeup
The “Footloose” remake starring Andie MacDowell, Dennis Quaid, Julianne Hough and Kenny Wormald, has been here filming in several locations.
The deadline to sign up is today if you’d like to help fill the background of two big scenes, at the New Senoia Raceway on Friday and at the Cowboys nightclub in Kennesaw on Oct. 11 and 12.
A scene coordinator told us they need between 1,500 and 2,000 background folks for each day of filming for these scenes.
Everyone – and we mean everyone – is invited to the racetrack. Because the race scene will depict a family, day-time outing, people are invited to bring their kids. For the scenes to be filmed at Cowboys, you need to be 18 or older.
There are no requirements for these particular scenes. No acting experience is needed and the scene coordinators aren’t looking for any particular “look.” Basically if you have a pulse, come on. Just don’t bring cameras onto the set or pester the stars for autographs.
In lieu of payment the folks serving in these background roles will be entered into drawings for prizes including spa and restaurant gift certificates and trips to places like Florida, Jamaica and the Cayman Islands.
The grand prize is a six-day, five-night trip compliments of Rosner Travel to The Sunshine Suites in Grand Cayman, with round-trip airfare for two on Cayman Airlines from Tampa, airport transfers and tickets to an attraction.
On Oct. 11, 94.9 The Bull will be on hand to entertain you in between takes.

In other movie news, Betty White is in town filming “The Lost Valentine,” co-starring Jennifer Love Hewitt. The folks at Rathbun’s say the beloved octogenarian stopped by for dinner and visited with other diners. The crew was downtown Wednesday, and transformed the Capitol building into a 1940s train station.
“The Fast and the Furious V,” starring Vin Diesel, was shooting in the Edgewood area, and “Wanderlust,” starring Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd, has moved north to Clarkesville. We reported the other day that Aniston signed autographs in a local Ingles, but Access North Georgia reported that the production is causing “traffic concerns.” By the way, OK! magazine has reported that Aniston’s technophobia led her past and apparently present honey John Mayer to bag his Twitter account. We’re not sure how you’re supposed to find out about his next surprise show at Eddie’s Attic.

Sounds awesome – thanks for sharing!
For the record, the surprise John Mayer show, @ Eddie’s Attic, was not free…it was $10, which he gave back to the entire wait staff there.
