Usher’s OMG Tour to kick off this fall

usher-raymond-vs-raymond-album-coverOMG!

Usher is heading back out on tour. The Atlanta R&B star has announced on his website that he’ll take his show on the road this fall.

The OMG Tour kicks off in Seattle and includes 25 dates.

After kicking off on the west coast on Nov. 11, Usher will make his way back back east, and will perform for a hometown crowd on Dec. 5 at Philips Arena.

Tickets go on sale Sept. 17.

We got a little sneak peek at what fans can expect, when Usher took the stage on Aug. 6 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre during a charity event benefiting his foundation. He sounded great and seemed happy to be on stage, energized by the enthusiastic crowd.

See full details about his upcoming tour here.

In this economic downturn, I am surprised anyone would be able purchase expensive concert tickets. Other people out there have much more disposable income than me.

Usher is a class act. He won’t pull a foolish stunt like T.I. and get arrested for alleged drug charges.

Usher performed last week in Daytona for the American Music Festival – ticket sales were really slow – they were selling them 2 for 1 week of show. Prices I think were around $50 per ticket.

Did anyone go to that Daytona festival? I wonder how he did. I have seen Usher twice; in ‘04 and ‘08 both times he was phenomenal. He is a GREAT performer. He does not just stand on stage and sing, not that there is anything wrong with someone who does. He plays the piano, dances, has great costume designs. He is so talented. Have been a fan since middle school! I will see him on tour again only if tickets are not too expensive. The only reason why I saw him at the Tabernacle was because I won those tickets and he was charging $100 per ticket for that tour! It amazes me that during a recession musicians still have such high prices when they tour! At least T.I. gave a concert last year for only $20.00 (including lower level seats) and it was great that so many people could afford to go. Philips Arena was packed. When T.I. decides to grow up and really put his family first, that is when he will make smarter choices in life.
