Backyard barbecues are great (that’s where Buzz will be this Independence Day holiday) but for those seeking to glam up the 4th of July, here are a few ideas.

The downtown W, conveniently located to Centennial Olympic Park’s festivities and fireworks display, offers a $249 rate from today through Monday featuring two cocktails, lemon and sage body butter from the onsite Bliss spa, free valet parking and access to the VIP fireworks viewing area. Oh, and after all that partying, you can check out as late as 4 p.m.

The Buckhead Ritz-Carlton, just across the street from the Lenox Mall July 4 extravaganza, is putting on an elegant Southern spread.

In the single “Karaoke,” the rapper Drake, who just won best male hip hop artist at the BET Awards pours out his heart during the rap segment:

“Isn’t it ironic that the girl I wanna marry is a wedding planner? It tells me my life’s too much and it moves to Atlanta.”

Buzz has tracked down the Atlanta wedding planner Drake is talking about here.

Jade Lee, right, grew up with Drake in Toronto and is indeed in the wedding planning business. A 2006 graduate of the University of Toronto, she worked in banking before launching her boutique planning firm, Lovelee Affairs.

Lee, who came to Atlanta in 2008, still refers to her childhood friend as Aubrey (his full name is Aubrey Drake Graham), and said she did not know he was penning a piece about her.

When it comes to celebrity news not much is very shocking these days. But the audio RadarOnline.com says it attained of Mel Gibson’s racist rant against his ex-girlfriend just makes you stare blankly into space. Or does it?

Gibson is in the middle of a bitter custody dispute with Oksana Grigorieva over their infant daughter. She apparently taped him during a series of arguments and well, there aren’t enough bleeps to make it printable.

At one point he reportedly is heard saying she looks like a “pig in heat” and it would be her fault if she was raped by a group of men – and no, it wasn’t stated so nicely. He also threatened to burn down the house.

Gibson is no stranger to foot-in-mouth disorder. In 2006, the Oscar winner had an anti-Semitic outburst against the Malibu police when he was arrested for DUI.

This is Wonder Woman's "new look."

A modern gal, that Wonder Woman. Always ahead of her time.

Long before Lady Gaga was running around in leotards as if they constituted an entire outfit, Wonder Woman was keeping the peace in a strapless star-spangled bathing suit with red go-go boots and regal-looking headband.

Completing the look were those awesome bullet-reflecting bracelets and the golden lasso of truth. Just try keeping your evil secrets when Wonder Woman has you wrapped up in that thing!
