Will you watch Obama on “The View” today?

425.the.view.102808President Barack Obama sits down with the ladies of “The View” this morning at 11 a.m. on Channel 2.

Will you be watching?

The visit has already been taped, and details are under wraps. Not everyone is thrilled about the leader of the free world joining a daytime coffee klatch. None other than former View co-host Rosie O’Donnell criticized the decision.

“I have mixed feelings about that. I don’t really think sitting presidents should go do fluffy daytime TV shows,” she said in comments quoted on a number of Web sites. “Maybe an hour on ‘Oprah’ or something…I don’t really want to see him on ‘The View’.”

What do you think?

C-host Joy Behar told CNN that Obama was “charming as usual” and added “We had some laughs with him.”

Behar also has a show on CNN’s spinoff channel HLN.

Obama said he chose to appear in the program because First Lady Michelle Obama is a fan. He has appeared on the show before.

“Look, I was trying to find a show that Michelle actually watched, and so I thought this is it, right here,” he said, according to a snippet provided by ABC.

We’ll be tweeting during the appearance. Click here to follow us.

I think its delightful, I love the view and the real talk. Who cares what Rosie O’Donnell thinks, she is so insignificant.

Absolutely not. He needs to be in Washington doing his job and not going on talk television to stroke his overinflated ego.

I think that this is all for political benefit,as he only goes where the tide is in his favor.Just as he’s been campaigning…you won’t see him in conservative shows…ect. He is a “Big Fat Liar” just as the congressman said on the house floor.

Absolutely not, here he is again using tax payers money to flaunt his agendy. Joy Beher is an unamerican and should be banned from T.V. I would not watch either of the shows that she is on. She spews vemon from that botox face of hers every day.

Our president was asked to speak on the 100th anniversary, yesterday, to 45,000 Boy Scouts. He instead, turned down the Boy Scouts, to appear on The View… I didn’t realize The View was such an important show… Not for me, it’s a shame he has his priorities so mixed up and I voted for the man…Bad choice for him, bad choice for me…

It’s funny how people criticize Washington insiders for being out of touch with us but when a POTUS wants to sit down and chat on a TV show that is viewed by millions of us, he is criticized. What do we really want?

White House Communications come in all forms. There is a target audience and that is the Buckhead Betty’s who are home with the kids. I’d rather him come on “The View” and get his message out than interfere with my episode of “Wipeout” or the Braves game. This is no different than recording an address to the nation from the Oval Office.

For those who think he’s not “working”, come on back to this century… the electronic age enables ALL of us to work remotely…. remember Bush reading to the kids on 9/11… ok, bad example, he decided not to work when told about the attacks and just kept reading.

Wendy:

He won the election allright, but I wish he had the courage to go on Fox. No, we can’t do that because the folks there won’t fawn all over him. Obama makes the heretofore most incompetent President in my lifetime, Jimmy Carter, look competent.

I’m sorry, but going on The View to discuss family pizza nights, his dog, his wife’s favorite TV shows and other assorted “fluff topics” is incredibly out of touch with the American public – especially since he get flustered and prefers to cut off conversations about topics like the current sad state of our economy and immigration.

I love it when people use the term “haters” – when you can’t make a valid point, just start name-calling. Sure, it makes you sound tough, but it also shows you can’t throw together a valid argument to save your life.

Both Republicians and Democrats parties have and has had their faults, none have been perfect or even come close, why, because they are human like each of you. We all have our moments. When will the people of the United States learn, that is why we have so much trouble, President Obama is really not the problem, as a matter of fact I see him as being too, too, smart to be president of these US States. God bless America, when things are done wrong you have to pay for it and being, unkind, nasty, jealous, etc. things will never get better, so therefore everyone has to suffer.

He should be running the country not constantly campaigning looking for the next “photo-op”. I don’t care for the View, have tried to watch, but every time I’m disappointed in THEIR prejudiced “views” and cannot see both sides of any issues–it is unfortunate they have the large following they do–

What do we really want!!!! We want a President to do his job and not sit on a daytime television show. His wife likes the show thats why he went on. Watch out, if his wife likes soap operas you just might catch him on one of them one day. Get back to Washington and do the job you were elected to do. And while your at it Mr. President start doing some of the things you promised. I don’t see much change. Oh yes, that was your big slogan wasn’t it. Bad choice, bad choice.

I think it is beneath the office of the President of the United States to appear on such a lame daytime fluff show as “The View”. Obama has done nothing FOR this country. With every policy this administration has passed, he and his fellow democrats have done great harm TO the people of the country and the freedoms that many of us still hold dear. The mindless idiots that elected this inexperienced egotistical “celebrity” are the same ones that will be tuning into “The View” today. They don’t know how to think for themselves. They take everything that these women say as the gospel truth and don’t bother to read about the issues from other sources than the liberal media. The mainstream media purposefully shielded the public from many troubling facts about Obama’s previous associations with known socialists and terrorists( Bill Ayers) prior to the election. His college records are sealed. Why? Does he have something to hide? I’m sure the ladies on “The View” won’t ask him about any of those disturbing aspects of his life. I wonder if he’ll be able to speak without the trusted presidental teleprompter!

Anna: Maybe Congress should be working. Where are all the bills/ideas that the repub leadership has? Oh, could we get that in writing?

Relax people: Right on! The Repubs/naysayers want times to be like they were with Pres Reagan, when there was no internet! Also, see above!

bvillebaron: If he went on FOX, do you think they, the interviewers, could keep their mouths shut and have their brains comprehend what he is saying in answering their questions? EVERY person who goes on FOX who do not share their view gets interupted repeatedly or shouted down. For ALL interviewers: Ask the question , and shut up. Let them answer the question. If they don’t answer (like the Repub leadership on Meet the Press), then repeat/clarify the question. Do you think the wars, economy, immigration, etc can be descibed in 30 seconds, esp since most questions last longer?

dw: have you read some of the blogs? Comprehend? I try not to call people names or stereotype them, but some (left and right) are so far gone that’s sometimes impossible. I know my parents brought us up better!

Finally, since some think that Pres Obama should stay in the White House an work, or that he’s sullying the presidency, what about the Republican leaders doing the same as Obama? While they are not the President does thier position have stature and need respect?

Some thought that the BP bozo should be overseeing the gulf, and when he wasn’t people complained “where is he?” Americans are fickale when it involves Obama.

Celebrity President. This man is more concerned about image and profiling himself in front of the camera than he is concerned about affairs of state. He has had more air-time than Clinton and Bush together did in their full-terms and this celebrity has been in office but eighteen months. How many photo-ops has this man had in just the past 30-days? President Ego.

What a complete joke as a president. He did this instead of speaking to the Boy Scouts. He has the deficit so high that it will take your great great grandchildren to begin paying it off. The economy is floundering and not recovering as “real” jobs are very hard to find. Other leaders around the world know he is a weak president and show him no real respect. He was horrible in the oil crisis, and really did nothing but espouse more of his rhetoric. He wants to give all illegals amnesty because that is the only way he will get re-elected, because independent voters like myself see him for what he really is, just a talker and speech maker. But now he has time to sit down with the “View”. Oh, but it is all the republicans fault. Mr. President, quit blaming everyone else and take some responsibility and help this country instead of bankrupting it. You are a disaster so far. Also, all you “enlightened” people under 30 or so that voted for this Muslim, thanks alot. You wanted change, you got it. Hope your children, your grandchildren and your great grandchildren can handle your mistake. But that is alright, you keep buying in to this puppet for Pelosi and the dems, and when their “health care” laws go in effect you tell me you did the right thing. Good Luck with that.

He’s only a Celebrity President if you make him one. Nobody stopped Clinton or Bush from getting air time, would you have said the same thing if the roles were reversed, No, I didn’t think so.

For those that think he should have spoke at the Boyscout Jamborree, why didn’t you volunteer to speak or have someone in your party speak. If he had spoke for the Boyscout, you still wouldn’t be satisfied, you would have something to say about that too… Really!

Caroline: The President of the United States is the honorary president of the Boy Scouts of America. Three of Obama’s predecessors have made the time to speak at the boy Scouts Annual Jamboree. He’ll be missing out on an historic occasion — the Boy Scouts’ Jamboree marking the group’s 100th anniversary. Apparently it was more important for Obama to make history as the first sitting president on a daytime talk show. The White House said Tuesday that fundraisers, not the TV appearance, prevented the president from attending. So the perpetual Campaigner-in-Chief cares more about fundraisers than Boy Scouts. He is sending a videotaped message to the Boy Scouts. which is quite appropriate for a man who can’t speak without his trusty teleprompter!
