President Barack Obama’s visit to the view had all the heft of a cotton candy making contest.
But hey, what did we expect?
The headlines: He is not going to Chelsea Clinton’s wedding (wasn’t even invited!) He has Jay-Z and Frank Sinatra on his iPod but no Justin Bieber. He knew Lindsay Lohan was in jail but had no idea who Snooki of “Jersey Shore” fame is. He dodged a question about whether Mel Gibson needs anger management counseling.
Aside from a few slightly probing questions from resident conservative Elisabeth Hasselbeck, “The View,” with its wildly applauding audience, gave the president the friendliest of welcomes. (See photos from the show’s episode here.)
The Shirley Sherrod controversy entered the discussion briefly, with Obama praising her as a “wonderful woman” whose personal story demonstrates the nation’s progress with race relations. The president had harsh words for the 24-7 media cycle (he didn’t mention Fox News but may as well have) but also for his own administration, which sacked the USDA official before reviewing all the facts.
In general the appearance, featuring a return by Barbara Walters, who is recovering from heart surgery, felt like a prolonged campaign speech, with the president listing his administration’s triumphs on matters like the sweeping financial and health care bills.
Walters, a veteran journalist, asked the only really tough questions, touching on the president’s sagging poll numbers, for example.
No one brought up immigration, even as the new Arizona law goes into effect, hobbled to a degree by a judge’s ruling blocking some of the provisions.
Did you watch? What did you think?

Thank goodness we have a leader that can think on his own and speak articulately. Folks, remember that W appeared on Dr. Phil and on a fishing show. Needless to say, he didn’t speak specifics on any policy issues. President Obama was right in reaching out to the audience of The View and giving an account of his job performance. There’s a reason why noted historians have already ranked this president in the top percentile of all past presidents. (W. is in the bottom five.) In 18 months, President Obama has given us health care reform (something leaders since Teddy Roosevelt has tried to accomplish), tightened regulations on Wall Street, and has steered this nation away from all out economic depression.

Thank you President Obama for loving the USA so much that you are willing to clean up the mess that you inherited from the Bush-Cheney regime! And to the idiots that expect things that were so broken to be fixed in less than two years, get a grip. Don’t let hate blind you towards forces (Fox News, Republican Party) that only have the interest of multi-millionaires at heart.

I’m so SURE that had Sara Palin been elected as President of the US, we would have NO problems, economy would be at an all time high, all the jobs lost would be filled, businesses would be thriving and Osama Bin Laden would be in custody of US Officials. Sound stupid???? Not if your a Repub, Tea Partier or left winger. They have all the answers and the world will be problem and debt free once they take office!!
WOW, for real

Wow, I have never seen since hate and upside down stories. We blame everyone but ourselves. Don’t vote for Obama, 1/2 the time most of people don’t vote anyway. Whites and blacks talk…but what I do see is that alot of these comments talk about racist… white/black people won’t vote for Obama again. Ok. People don’t think Obama is doing a decent job but did Bush 1, Bush 2 or Reagan do a better job. Both Bushs took you into a war…. One Reagan ignored a health epidemic for so many years and so many die (AIDS). Wow… this much hate from a television appearance.

This is for all of you on the right that call yourself “Christians or conservatives”. I am a Christian and I support and will always support president Obama. I know he cares about ordinary people like me, he is not interested in being politically correct or secure his re-election in 2012. I am my brother’s keeper and my president is also my brother’s keeper. This president has not stopped working since before he got into office. all his life he has been involved in serving his community. We all know what George W. Bush was doing through his youth (nothing productive because all was given to him). All of you that hate him and refuse to see the truth of his intentions because you probably watch Fox News and listen to all the lies, fabricated information, and plain hatred that is preached. All these types of programs that are negative or unfruitful to America are the cancer that will keep America down. either that or you probably had listened to ignorant, rich and or racist parents or relatives that have taught you to hate everything and everybody that does not look like you. This is called ignorance people and it proves that you feel threatened by intelligent black people that aspire to do great things in life. I will be praying for you!
God bless Obama!!!!!
