Carrie Underwood wedding party arrives in Georgia
A couple of sources have tipped us about the upcoming wedding between country star Carrie Underwood and pro hockey player Mike Fisher.
The latest scoop whispered in our ear suggests the party is getting started over at The Ritz-Carlton, Reynolds Plantation, in Greensboro.
A source who is there now says Underwood’s entourage has begun showing up at the exclusive resort.
The Life & Style magazine Web site includes comments from the couple about the ceremony:
“It’s going to be a good size wedding with plenty of good food and an open bar,” Fisher said. “But nothing too overblown. It’s still in the planning stages, so a lot of the details haven’t been finalized.”
He added that, ”As you might expect, Carrie’s involved in a lot of the details,” and joked, “I’ll just be showing up.”
The magazine quoted Underwood explaining, ”I’m Southern. I like big hair and eyeliner. I want my wedding to be me, so I’ll probably be rocking some big hair and eyeliner… I want [the dress] to be pretty traditional. I think I want flowers on it – not real flowers. [The designer will] probably be someone I’ve worked with before.”
So, presumably the entourage our informant spotted includes hair and makeup folks in addition to friends and family.
We want to point out that our tipsters are not Ritz-Carlton employees, who would all staple their own tongues before sharing information about a guest, famous or otherwise. The Ritz-Carlton is known for never spilling a drop of intel about anyone who stays there – which is probably why people like Carrie Underwood would plan events there.

Carrie didn’t speak to Life & Style. They lifted a quote from an interview Carrie gave with People mag and made it seem like she spoke directly with them. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if the Mike Fisher quotes were stolen too.

Congratulations Carrie. I hope you will be immensely happy. For all of you putting a time line on their union, I hope you are all wrong and I applaud her for getting married and not just “shacking” up like so many of todays entertainment industry stars. Try to book a room at the Ritz for this weekend and you’ll find there is not a single available room. Try to book one for next weekend and you’ll find a plethora of choices. Unless the weekend after 4th of July has become a widly populer travel weekend to destinations like the middle of Georgia, it’s not too far fetched that the rumors of her wedding taking place there are true.

She is an awesome role model for teen girls. She even said that Mike has helped her to improve her walk with the Lord – sounds like a good man to me! Gill, Oklahoma is NOT in the midwest. The midwest officially is comprised of the following 12 states – Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Ohio and Wisconsin.

There are some authentic “bad girls” in country music. I think of Gretchen Wilson, who was previously the female bouncer in the roadhouse where she first sang professionally. Actually, if you want to get technical… Oklahoma is a southwestern state. If you look at a map you will see that it is just as southern as Arkansas, Tennessee etc.. which are considered “southeast”. Not a big deal, just surprised that folks don’t know geography.

I live in the neighborhood that the Ritz Carlton is located. The hotel is right on the lake and the first people to tell us about her wedding being here were some of the Ritz employees so I don’t think they are too hush hush. I hope for her sake of privacy she has the wedding inside because the lake around the Ritz is going to be surrounded by boats just to try and get a glimpse of the action. What a beautiful bride she’ll be!

2) I give the marriage a lifetime because of the two people involved. Carrie is as down to earth as they come for being such a megastar. Also, Mike is religious and leads a bible fellowship group of athletes plus he devotes lots of time to charity. It sounds like a match made in heavan!
