Carrie Underwood wedding party arrives in Georgia
A couple of sources have tipped us about the upcoming wedding between country star Carrie Underwood and pro hockey player Mike Fisher.
The latest scoop whispered in our ear suggests the party is getting started over at The Ritz-Carlton, Reynolds Plantation, in Greensboro.
A source who is there now says Underwood’s entourage has begun showing up at the exclusive resort.
The Life & Style magazine Web site includes comments from the couple about the ceremony:
“It’s going to be a good size wedding with plenty of good food and an open bar,” Fisher said. “But nothing too overblown. It’s still in the planning stages, so a lot of the details haven’t been finalized.”
He added that, ”As you might expect, Carrie’s involved in a lot of the details,” and joked, “I’ll just be showing up.”
The magazine quoted Underwood explaining, ”I’m Southern. I like big hair and eyeliner. I want my wedding to be me, so I’ll probably be rocking some big hair and eyeliner… I want [the dress] to be pretty traditional. I think I want flowers on it – not real flowers. [The designer will] probably be someone I’ve worked with before.”
So, presumably the entourage our informant spotted includes hair and makeup folks in addition to friends and family.
We want to point out that our tipsters are not Ritz-Carlton employees, who would all staple their own tongues before sharing information about a guest, famous or otherwise. The Ritz-Carlton is known for never spilling a drop of intel about anyone who stays there – which is probably why people like Carrie Underwood would plan events there.

Why do the good ones always “marry down”? She can do better than that. A hockey player, for crying outloud! I am available and she bypassed me to marry him? Her music will be banned from my list forever more! That’s O.K., Kelli Pickler was my first choice anyway!

I was so proud to have seen Carrie when she first started out with the Idol thing. We go pass her picture on the billboard outside her hometown. Coming from this south central part of Oklahoma, we wish the very best wishes for Carrie and her husband-to-be. We are with you, Carrie.

Hey everyone here is the thought of the decade? Why not leave Carrie and Mike A-L-O-N-E? Let the new young couple have some privacy as their big day arrives? How many people here ( and I am being DEAD SERIOUS about this now ) have had people, rolling stone, OK, or any of those other celebrity magazines @ YOUR weddings or even wanted them there for that matter? hmmmmm ?????? Yes Carrie is a very popular woman and although I don’t know anything at all about Mike Fisher, I am sure he has his share of fans too, but just like any other human being on God’s gracious earth, they deserve their privacy, so BACK OFF!!!!!!!!!

P.S. and for all of those who snub my comment, remember this: The papparzi ( ok i know thats misspelled but that is besides the point ) is responsible for the death of Princess Diana. If they had not been up her @$$ she would prob be with us to this day! Keep in mind of that when you egg these magazines on to be up the skirts of all these celebrities during their specail moments.

I know now that you are going to marry Fish head just to make me mad or jealous. You know as well as I do that God meant for you and I to share our lives together.
I know that you truely love me and you are using Mike to get the kid that I cannot give you. It is not my fault I was injured as a young boy and can’t have kids.
I will never forget all those wonderful days and nights we spent in each others arms.
Did you tell Mike that you and I were together in LA last weekend?
I didn’t think so.

I live in the neighborhood that the Ritz Carlton is located. The hotel is right on the lake and the first people to tell us about her wedding being here were some of the Ritz employees so I don’t think they are too hush hush. I hope for her sake of privacy she has the wedding inside because the lake around the Ritz is going to be surrounded by boats just to try and get a glimpse of the action. What a beautiful bride she’ll be!

1) You thought Oklahoma was in the midwest? Did you actually attend school!
2) I give the marriage a lifetime because of the two people involved. Carrie is as down to earth as they come for being such a megastar. Also, Mike is religious and leads a bible fellowship group of athletes plus he devotes lots of time to charity. It sounds like a match made in heavan!

hey im so glad to see there is something in the news about greensboro ga.. i was born there in 1976 and moved to louisville ky in 1985.. we travel there about twice a year. when i tell someone where im from they look at me stupid… its so nice that she got married there see its not as small as you think… ccongrats
