Backyard barbecues are great (that’s where Buzz will be this Independence Day holiday) but for those seeking to glam up the 4th of July, here are a few ideas.
The downtown W, conveniently located to Centennial Olympic Park’s festivities and fireworks display, offers a $249 rate from today through Monday featuring two cocktails, lemon and sage body butter from the onsite Bliss spa, free valet parking and access to the VIP fireworks viewing area. Oh, and after all that partying, you can check out as late as 4 p.m.
The Buckhead Ritz-Carlton, just across the street from the Lenox Mall July 4 extravaganza, is putting on an elegant Southern spread.
A special dinner buffet, offered from 5:30 to 9:15 p.m., will include delicacies such as Southern fried chicken salad, apple and jalapeno scented cole slaw, 48-hour smoked beef brisket with peach barbecue sauce, a summer raw bar, ginger barbecued quails, truffle baked mac and cheese, strawberry shortcake and “magic” cupcakes. It is $58 for adults, $29 for children 5 to 12 and free for children under 5.
The Mansion on Peachtree will host hotel and restaurant guests for a viewing of the Lenox Square fireworks from the 45th floor, where patriotic music and a champagne toast will complete the scene. Downstairs at NEO, executive sous chef Scott Hemmerly will be preparing smoked beef brisket and grilled Springer Mountain chicken, grilled potato salad with smoked bacon and parsley emulsion and watermelon cucumber gazpacho. It’s $75 per person, and dinner reservations are available beginning at 5:30 p.m.
The Mansion’s Stars and Stripes Package includes the dinner for two, fireworks festivities and breakfast the next day. It’s $409. The Peachtree Road Race Recovery Package includes fireworks viewing and a $150 treatment credit in the 29 Spa. That package is $339.
