California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, in town for Emory’s commencement exercises on Monday, made the most out of his trip here.

(Click here for a gallery of photos from his appearance at Emory.)

We hear he enjoyed plenty of Southern hospitality and a bit of the local VIP scene, attending an exclusive “cigar party” Sunday night hosted by Kirk Posmantur, head of Axcess Luxury & Lifestyle. Local notables in attendance included Mayor Kasim Reed, Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle, Woodruff Foundation president Russ Hardin and Rutherford Seydel, part owner of the Thrashers and Hawks.

On Monday, after inspiring the new graduates at Emory, The Governator dined at Tuk Tuk, the elegant Thai restaurant in the Brookwood Place shopping center, at a luncheon hosted by Georgia State University President Mark Becker. That crowd included Hardin, Ann Lally of After-School All-Stars and Atlanta …

Ne-Yo made Mothers Day special for his own mom and dozens of others.

His Compound Foundation hosted the third annual Celebration of Mothers on Sunday. The elegant brunch event, which featured live performances and a keynote message from State Rep. Alisha Morgan, was held at Opera nightclub in Midtown and saluted the efforts of foster mothers throughout Georgia.

Monyetta Shaw says her man is kind and respectful thanks to the "amazing" job by his mother

“Our initial thing is about helping out kids in the child welfare program,” the R&B artist said.

He was accompanied by lady friend Monyetta Shaw, who confessed her man is a bit of a mamma’s boy. “She did an amazing job,” Shaw said of H. Loraine Smith, the artist’s mother.

Smith and Ne-Yo’s sister, Nikki Smith, took a spin down the red carpet as the event kicked off.

“This is a very happy Mothers Day,” Loraine Smith said. “I have both of my children here.”

Ne-Yo said the …

Paula Deen to judge Miss USA

6a00d83451d79a69e200e55205f2528833-800wiButter-loving celebrity chef Paula Deen will be among the judges at the the next Miss USA pageant. The Donald Trump production, at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, is May 16.

“Y’all I am so excited!” said Deen, who tweets just like she talks, in a recent Twitter post. “I’ll be in Las Vegas in about a week. I’m so looking forward to the pageant and to meeting all those great young women.”

Not to be confused with the far more chaste Miss America pageant, Miss USA is being promoted on a flashy Web site that says, “See you in Vegas, baby!” and features racy photos of the contestants wearing sultry come-hither looks and little else.

The Georgia contender, by the way, is Cassady Lance, 25, of Savannah. Like the other young lovelies she appears in a provocative pose clad in lacy lingerie.

From her photo, we are guessing Lance is probably not a regular at either The Lady and Sons, Deen’s meat-and-three palace in downtown …

“Housewives” celebrate at baby shower

A photo posted from Phaedra Parks' shower shows her looking "like a goddess."

Several cast members from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” got together over the weekend to celebrate new member Phaedra Parks’ new baby, due in July.

We hear the fete, was held at the Park Tavern, which was festively decorated in blue and white (Parks and her husband are expecting a boy).

Parks “looked like a goddess,” one attendee told us, and indeed a photo posted from the event shows a radiant Parks in a glamorous, deep blue dress with white flowers in her hair.

The Bravo cameras were rolling, of course, so look for the celebration on an upcoming episode. Because the event was held on Sunday, the weekend of the Kentucky Derby, guests were encouraged to arrive in hats. Almost everyone did.

Kim (Zolciak) got there late, and wasn’t wearing a hat,” our source told us. But, the leggy blonde, a mom of two, apparently dispensed helpful parenting advice.

Other cast members, including Lisa Wu Hartwell, …

Jane Fonda’s pad: yours for $4.5 million

Actress-activist-philanthropist Jane Fonda, who announced on Monday that she’s quitting Atlanta for Los Angeles, is apparently not wasting time getting a move on.

Her 4,700 square-foot, three-bedroom, three full bathroom Poncey Highland loft is being marketed for immediate occupancy, said Laura Crumley, who’s dealing with potential buyers or tenants.

“Her stuff is moving out tomorrow,” Crumley told Buzz, noting that some pieces of furniture may remain if the place is leased rather than purchased. By the way the asking price for a lease arrangement is $10,000 per month.

Lest some enterprising event planner seek to lease the spot and then throw bashes billed as a “Party at Jane’s,” Crumley said she did not think the building’s covenants would permit that sort of endeavor.

Jane Fonda moving to L.A.

jane_fonda_300Just after hosting her “World Fitness Day” event downtown over the weekend, Jane Fonda says she’s leaving Atlanta for Los Angeles.

(Here’s a photo gallery chronicling her time in Atlanta).

“This is a hard blog to write,” she posted. “I have been in Atlanta for 19 years. It has been my home and I have been very happy here. I came here with Ted Turner and when we separated, I stayed. It’s been 10 years since then. I built myself a loft that I truly thought would be my home till I died. I love it so. My daughter, my soon-to-be son-in-law and my two grandchildren live here. My two non-profits are here: The Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention and The Jane Fonda Center at the Emory School of Medicine where the focus is on adolescent reproductive health and sexuality. So you see, my decision to move to Los Angeles has not been easy.”

She says she went out to L.A. for knee replacement last year and decided she “still wanted to work in film.”

She says she has some …
