Laura Bush is just as dingy as Sarah Palin. There is nothing spectacular abou her. Michelle Obama is the best First Lady!!!! Then Ladybird Johnson…Next Jackie Kennedy & Hillary Clinton. Other first ladies were airheads like Laura.

What has the current first lady done? Plant a garden? How can you say she is the best first lady when she is only a year into it. She wants to curb obesity, but statistics show obesity is still on the rise. L Bush worked with many children for prevention of gang activity and also literacy in the schools.

I may not care for George but I love Laura. I think any first lady who has to read the garbage written about them, their spouses and families and keep on smiling deserves our respect. I would have a hard time smiling if all the vitriol that has been spewed about the Bushes and Obamas was written about my family.

For a little perspective… I’d vote for Dolley Madison as the best First Lady. She had to be forced to stop rescuing valuable White House furnishings, paintings and documents (the people’s belongings) and leave the building while the British were setting it on fire.

* Note 1030am response, all the educators I know are still at school either teacher or wrapping things up in the classroom. Maybe she is commenting during recces, but regardless this lady is an idiot. To hate on Laura just because you don’t like her politics or her husband’s shows ignorance. Almost every first lady has served with class and dignity and as mentioned earlier all presidents and their better halves should be respected. And for people like Lynn who probably thinks respect and liking someone are the same thing. I hate Carter but I respect the man, can you grasp that?

Well Laura is pro-choice and in favor of gay marriage. Sounds like a reasonable person to me. It’s too bad that she didn’t have the courage to go public with her opinions until after she left the White House. Stepford Wife Syndrome is a common affliction among wives of republicans.

Oh come on folks. No need to compare one First Lady to another. As far as I am concerned, most all of our First Ladies have done wonderful things during their tenures. They have been gracious in light of the nastiness of politics they have to live with each and every day. Many of them raising children, in addition to their duties as First Lady. I think they all deserve respect and accolades, regardless of their husband’s party affiliation.

She enjoyed the house special last night did she? How many people who went hungry yesterday because hey had their jobs shipped overseas by Dubya? How many people went hungry yesteday because they spent every cent they had on Medical bills? How many people lost their homes and life savings due to the deregulation her husband granted to the banks & lending institutions. Hey “classy lady” why dont you take that $ youre making on your book deal and donate it to the middle class you $crewed the 8 years your party ran our country into the ground? You want a good example of a good first lady then look at Elanor Roosevelt. She actually helped the poor and needy during and after her her husbands administration instead of making huge amounts of money on a book deal and subsequent book signing tour like your Laura Bu$h. Perhaps she would be better served writing a book about landscaping. Because as everyone knows theres plenty of dirt surronding a Bu$h. Classy First Lady? LMAO!

I was not a fan of the Bush presidency for many, many reasons. That said, our current and former presidents and their families remain representatives of this country and should be shown proper respect regardless of whether you agree with their policies or not. By all means, vote against the ones you disagree with, but it’s not appropriate to belittle their spouses (Nancy and Hillary were particularly pilloried) or make nasty and inapprpriate signs about them (like painting Obama as a tribal warrior, for instance).

By that rationale, Laura Bush deserves our respect, and she has always appeared to be the model of class and graciousness. So even though I voted against her husband twice, I hope that she had a nice visit to Atlanta, enjoyed the food at South City Kitchen, and had some nice conversations with polite Atlantans. She’s been through a lot over the last decade and I’m sure she’s got some good stories and insight. And, she just seems like a nice person.

Laura is by NO means the best first lady. Lynn Educator is teaching your children. Be afraid……… very afraid. Talk to your kids each day to set them straight about the propaganda with which the public school system tries to brainwash them. Mine, I am proud to say, understand that our first seven presidents made a far greater contribution to this nation than Che Guevara and Cesar Chavez. They know that the jury is still out on man-made climate change and that nations cannot spend themselves rich (i.e.: The War on Poverty, The Great Society, and The New Deal). My kids didn’t learn any of this from Lynn Educator or any other public school propagandist our tax dollars are wasted on.

I’m sorry but Michelle Obama does not dress the part of a First Lady. She shows way too much skin. The White House and the Presidency are very conservative institutions and much respect should be shown. Michelle Obama is The First Lady and should dress like one not like she is going to an Oscar Awards Show. Washington not Hollywood.
