NeNe Leakes has a new nose and has been appearing in a play. The reviews – of the nose – aren’t great.
“I think @NeNeLeakes might have just committed a Jennifer Grey,” a Twitter post from a user named Heidi Mara reads.
“I like your new nose,” reads a tweet from someone calling him or herself Return of Cirque. “Where did you buy it?”
Those are the nicer comments.
RadarOnline.com says the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” cast member is on nose job #3 and has other work done.
“Her friends and family are worried that she will get addicted to plastic surgery, but sadly the producers of the show are not discouraging because they think it adds some drama for the fans,” the site says, quoting unnamed sources.
Leakes posted this photo of herself on Twitter
Leakes, a frequent tweeter who is usually pretty candid about what’s going on, isn’t responding to the critics. Instead she’s been talking about her recent trip to New York, where she’s playing “Pinky Bell” in a show called “Loving Him is Killing Me.”
Her new look is apparent in recent a photo she posted from backstage, and in a post she seems to be remaining positive.
“New York state of mind!” she wrote. “Go NeNe go NeNe! Tryin’ to pump myself up y’all.”

The new pic is fine (she looks younger in the lower pic), but very different. A nose job shouldn’t change your overall appearance that drastically where people say, “what happened”. The side by side pic looks so drastic because she also lost a lot of weight from one pic to the next. I think people will get used to it.
She looks younger after losing the weight, but the nose job makes her features seem a bit harsh in the side pic……love the hair though….

I hate to say this, i really do, but i’m going to. First off, i’m white. It seems whenever a black person starts to get successful in show business they start to get surgery to make their features look more caucasian. It is sad that is the case because black women are beautiful the way they were born. Looking more caucasian is not needed to make themselves more beautiful. They are beautiful the way ther are.

This is exact reason why her family is falling apart. Nene’s focus is in the wrong place. Her oldest son just dropped out of college and she goes Gonzo on us. What is the problem? NeNe has reached “The Point of No Return” meaning once she became famous she realized her life was not making her happy. So she ditched her husband hooked up with a professional football player, then realized that wasn’t enough. So she begins work on her face starting with the nose, which was not well thought out because now her lips (which we kinda over looked before) appear huge.
The NeNe people related to now no longer is there. The viewers have to get used to this new look with that same raunchy loud voice, which spells (disaster).
People will talk about it for a week then start complaining that they want her off the show. Happens all the time. What would have been smart would have been for her to be a little low key this season so we could wonder what was up, instead she has put it ALL out there and it is NOT interesting.

You don’t even know the definition of racist because if you did, you would see that there is nothing racist in my commentary. You will have a tough time indicating anything racist about anything I have said (once you know the definition). Please come up with some better adjectives.
I did not say Barbie was tan, but if you are compelled to check and report your findings, feel free to do so. You are just making up things that have nothing to do with the dialog in an effort to prove me wrong and are failing miserably.
In NeNe’s case, her thought process was probably along the lines of: I have this Negro looking nose and I would much rather have the nose of a Caucasian. No Caucasian goes to a plastic surgeon and says please make my nose look more like a Negro nose. That would be going in the opposite direction. You can’t apply racism to that in any way, shape or form since that is not the definition of racism.
People do not tan to look more like Negro. People tan to appear more attractive to others. In American culture, pale skinned people are sometimes considered to have health problems and not suitable mating partners. In some cultures pale skinned people are considered more attractive – but not here. People are naturally and physically attracted to other people that appear healthy. This is is part of the biological response inherent to humans. In our culture, a tan can make one appear healthier and more attractive for mating.
People that tan are not trying to appear more like a black person – they are trying to appear more attractive.

I thought you were the realest person on the show and I enjoyed watching you for it, old nose and all (and it really was a cute nose). I know you’ve shared with your T.V. viewers that you’ve gone thru some things in your life and that could explain alot about why you did what you did. Oh well. Forgot to mention that Mattel did come out with Malibu Barbie in response to the realization that tan people were deemed more attractive than people with no tan (the Hollywood influence).
They have also come out with a Barbie that has a Ken tattoo on her backside. This is also an adjustment by Mattel to make Barbie more appealing to what is acceptable behavior in some parts of our culture – getting your current boyfriends name emblazoned on your butt. I guess so Ken can observe it while he is railing her from behind.

We should be focusing on topics that bring attention to the massive homelessness, unemployment, education and overall malaise that the city is going through, but the AJC does not throw that out there for us. My Mom always told me, ‘If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything’. But I will comment on the situation in general. Being insecure or not feeling a particular amount of self-worth is normal to an extent. We have all experienced it at some time in our lives. This is why we hate that we can’t lose weight, can’t afford new things that we don’t NEED, or because that certain girl/guy that we’re ‘feelin’ isn’t feelin us. But when we cross that line and start throwing money at quick fixes in the attempt to be ‘happier’ with ourselves, this is the beginning of a behavior pattern that is possibly detrimental to ourselves, our relationships, and so on. When you hear someone say that money doesn’t buy you happiness, it is so true. We should all think of money as a tool to pacify. That is it! It does make life easier, but not BETTER! FAMILY + FRIENDS + EXPERIENCES = LIFE
People that are seeking plastic surgery for these superficial reasons should always have some ongoing psychological treatment.

This whole “discussion” is quite comical to me! I agree with Renia. I’m not sure why there is a misconception that the AJC is a liberal paper. By in large, many of AJC’s blogs are breeding grounds and bouncing boards for a bunch of racists, neanderthals who get orgasmic pleasure by spewing their idiotic, thoughtless, and baseless hatred. But let me make one thing clear to all of you…Black People come in all different shades, all different hair textures/colors, some have big noses and some have very slender noses (have y’all looked at Kobe Bryant’s nose lately??). American “Black People” are some of the most racially mixed people on the planet.
So my point is…don’t arrogantly assume that she is trying to have a “white” nose. I think she was trying to reshape her nose in an attempt to look more “acceptable” to the mainstream. Sadly, she missed the mark! Her God-given nose was just fine. Tis’ a shame. I hate to see anyone change themselves and lose themselves at the same time.

@SET whatever you’d change with money, I think it’s important for ethnic folks to keep their appearance intact. Work out, keep your hair done & get your clothes tailored but as a community I think it’s important to maintain your ethnic appearance when you reach levels of success b/c it’s important for the people who look like you to be represented. I know she probably has some lingering esteem issues (like MJ) because of her upbringing and father and being raised by relatives. I htink anytime you have multiple surgeries (3) that speaks to thinking you know what you want, then still not being happy, and then when you keep having it done, it’s more in your head – you’re just never going to be happy with the way you look – she needs to get over that. Maybe some counseling instead of surgery.

There was nothing wrong with her nose before; now she has messed her face up. People need to leave plastic surgery alone and stay out the mirror looking or flaws to fix under the knife.
