Actress-activist-philanthropist Jane Fonda, who announced on Monday that she’s quitting Atlanta for Los Angeles, is apparently not wasting time getting a move on.
Her 4,700 square-foot, three-bedroom, three full bathroom Poncey Highland loft is being marketed for immediate occupancy, said Laura Crumley, who’s dealing with potential buyers or tenants.
“Her stuff is moving out tomorrow,” Crumley told Buzz, noting that some pieces of furniture may remain if the place is leased rather than purchased. By the way the asking price for a lease arrangement is $10,000 per month.

Lest some enterprising event planner seek to lease the spot and then throw bashes billed as a “Party at Jane’s,” Crumley said she did not think the building’s covenants would permit that sort of endeavor.
Anyone interested in buying or leasing the loft should contact Tina Hunsicker at Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International Realty at 404-931-3944.
So, what do you get for $4.5 mil or $10K? Two

fireplaces, two balconies, four parking spaces and lots of room. Fonda, who’s been here for nearly two decades, bought up four units and had them converted into the modern home, decorated in a spare, futuristic fashion. The building was constructed in 2000.
More photos of the home are posted on Fonda’s blog, along with her commentary about each room.

“This is my entry hall,” reads one caption. “To me it is a womb with a narrow birth channel and then you enter the wide open sunny loft to be born again.”
She also notes unimpeded views of the Atlanta skyline from her top-floor perch, (”When the sun rises the buildings turn pink. And sunsets can be spectacular.”), the mirrored canopy above her bed and the art she collects by Thornton Dial.
And, given her constant four-legged companion Tulea, it should come as no surprise that the home is in a “very pet-friendly” building.

Without question it’s a beautiful space. It remains to be seen if the loft is worth the 4.5 million dollar asking price. Even with it’s celebrity owned status, I very much doubt it.

“Get over it”, I wish she would go to the grave. I don’t have to forgive crap from her, she is a waste of life. Who cares if she apologized? That was most likely a fake apology to make herself look better. I am in the service and I can not stand her or people like her. It has NOTHING to do with being redneck, it has EVERYTHING to do with not betraying your own people or your country.

She’s leaving Atlanta because of the lack of education and ignnorance of rednecks like you that haven’t left the 1960’s.

Does it have a Vietnamese tank in the backyard or at least a hammer and a sickle for home repairs and gardening? She betrayed our country. I hope no one buys her house.

Some of the vitriolic posts about Ms. Fonda’s anti-war activities, which I am old enough to remember as I am near her age, are downright ignorant. She was hardly the only protester against the Vietnam war, just one of the more famous ones. I also recall that most Americans of the time felt about Vietnam like most people today do about Iran and Afghanistan: we don’t like being at war, but we back the troops being sent to fight it 100%.
Ms. Fonda apologized long ago for her more egregious acts during the Vietnam era. I suggest that the Jane haters weigh her act of contrition along with all the positive things she has done since that time, especially during her tenure here in Georgia, and then reconsider their ancient grievances. How would their own post-war lives measure up? IMO it’s time to be gracious — to forgive and forget, and to move on.
As for me, I will miss Ms. Fonda’s presence in Atlanta and her active participation in the local non-profit organizations she founded: The Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention and The Jane Fonda Center at Emory University. I wish her well in her new home and life in California. Come back real soon, y’hear?

All of you commie apologists, how about a few kind words for the 19 year old men who came back in body bags while fighting for her right to free speech in our country? She could have said anything she wanted to back in the States and gotten away with it. Instead she chose to use her fame across enemy lines to try to demoralize the very people fighting for her as a citizen of this country.

This woman has given millions to the needy. She was young, naive and down right blonde in the 60’s. I am sure that none of you haters of Jane ever made a mistake. I was born and raised in Atlanta. My great, great grandfather was Chief of Police in Atlanta around 1908. I am sad to see such hatred towards a person for a mistake she made almost 50 years ago. It makes me want to leave Atlanta.

What happened here was that Jane thought her days as a movie star were over. She was getting on towards retirement age and it was just easier for her to marry old Ted and settle down h’yar in “Alana”–hopefully, I’m sure, forever. BUT, it got old after a while, they split up, she got an offer for a movie playing an old lady, which is the only role left for women her age. Then she got a face lift, which she said she’d never do, and BAM! Back to La La land! She’s way too important, now that Ted isn’t in the picture anymore, to live in the South for NO reason. Y’all try to understand!

Danny G, the ignorant hate for Ms. Fonda is not just an Atlanta thing. There are morons all over the country who love to hate her and anyone else they can come up with. America long ago became a country so full of hate and ignorance that it is little better than a 3rd world country in many ways. It’s gotten suddenly much worse since President Obama took office. The uneducated redneck racists have always run their fat mouths whenever they could but the more educated racists who had always kept their yaps shut because they were afraid to be singled out and didn’t have anyone important enough to rage over have been able to come out in the open and expose themselves for the lowbrow fools and dimwits they’ve always been.
These are the people who puke their stupidity freely about Jane Fonda. But trust me, she’ll find plenty of the same in LA.
Trust me, leaving Atlanta is not the answer. It’s EVERYWHERE in this rat’s nest of a country we live in. You’ll need to set your sights much farther than just getting out of Atlanta.

To all those who keep characterizing Atlanta folks as thugs and rednecks: if it’s so bad, why are you here? If everyone in Atlanta is a redneck because he/she is white, and a thug because he/she is black, sounds like the real ignorance is the ignorance you brought with you. Please go back to your previous town and take your condescending attitudes with you.

I am sorry but she sat on anti-Aircraft guns in North Vietnam, and cheered at the thought of our brave men being shot down. She caused many of our POWS to be tortured and gave aid and comfort to the enemy. She has never publicly said she was sorry or apologized. As far as I am concerned she should have been tried for treason and is a criminal. Good riddance.
I am not debating the morality of the war. To protest at home, in retrospect, probably brought a bad situation to an early end, however to go and commit the acts she did, while our brave men were engaged in combat, is unfathomable.

Jane Fonda did no such thing. You’ve had a lot of time to watch the history channel or read a book since the Vietnam War Billy. Jane Fonda has worn her heart on her sleeve for years, putting her life in danger to bring attention to the same exact human rights issues that we are facing today. She has been an advocate for low income and at risk young women and truly walks her talk. She shouldn’t have to listen to your ignorant prattle, it’s stupid and has certainly been addressed millions of times between then and now.

I am aware of where she lived, the entire area of Ponce De Leon, and Highland, having lived here nearly 40 years.
Unfortuneately, due to the collapse of the economy, the loss of any “Middle Management” arena of endeavor, and that vacating of any form of manufacturing, most notable all of the GM Plants, Ford Plants, and Heavy Industry:
I personally wouldn’t even consider the area “Middle Class” anymore, and far from “Upper Middle Class”, even being a stone’s throw from either Emory or the Carter Library (no matter how one feels towards him): as far as a ‘Privleged Area’, I’m sorry, the answer here would be an unqualified ‘no’.
I really don’t blame her for leaving, because everybody whom would be anybody, else, has since the Olympics, as well.

It is a historical fact that Fonda espoused support for a hostile force holding American POWs at the very site of their barbaric captivity during a time of war. I bet you “get over it” Jane lovers are the same folks horrified at the Abu Garib treatment of terrorists by the U.S. To bad L.A. is as far as she is going.

Lets see, Atlanta was once known as the most racist city in the world. Now people want that image erased from our minds because it happened in the past. Yet these are the same people that still want to bury Jane Fonda for something she did in the past, which she apologized for. Are these the same people that continue for fly the STARS AND BARS in the name of culture, yet refuse to apologize, but rather condone actions of past racial discrimination associated with Atlanta. Take a look in the mirror. Rather yet why waste your time, because if that is how you feel you’re beyond hope.

Jane recently posed for photos in the AJC wearing her “Hanoi Jane” photo silk-screened on her T-shirt.
She’s still unapologetic for her anti-American rhetoric, befriending the Viet Cong enemy, and instigating the death-by-beatings of 3 POWS and near-death beatings the already badly treated POWs in the Ho Lo Prison who refused to cooperate with her Viet Cong `photo op` and false statements about their `good` treatment. THIS SHE MAKES LIGHT OF BY posing in her “Hanoi Jane” T-shirt!!!!!!!
Colonel Carrigan’s personal account of TRAITOR Hanoi Jane’s death-sentence for 3 POWS:
From 1963-65, Col. Larry Carrigan was in the 47FW/DO (F-4E’s). He spent 6 years in the
‘Hanoi Hilton’,,, the first three of which his family only knew he was ‘missing in action’.
His wife lived on faith that he was still alive. His group, too, got the cleaned-up, fed and
clothed routine in preparation for a ‘peace delegation’ visit.
They, however, had time and devised a plan to get word to the world that they were alive
and still survived. Each man secreted a tiny piece of paper, with his Social Security Number
on it , in the palm of his hand.
When paraded before Ms. Fonda and a cameraman, she walked the line, shaking each
man’s hand and asking little encouraging snippets like: ‘Aren’t you sorry you bombed
babies?’ and ‘Are you grateful for the humane treatment from your benevolent captors?’
Believing this HAD to be an act, they each palmed her their sliver of paper.
She took them all without missing a beat.. At the end of the line and once the camera stopped
rolling, to the shocked disbelief of the POWs, she turned to the officer in charge and handed
him all the little pieces of paper..
Three men died from the subsequent beatings. Colonel Carrigan was almost number four
but he survived, which is the only reason we know of her actions that day.
