Tyler Perry’s next project involves all-star cast
Tyler Perry has assembled an all-star cast for the production of “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf” that he is set to direct, Clutch magazine reports.
The cast will include Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Whoopi Goldberg, Phylicia Rashad, Jurnee Smollett, Kimberly Elise, Kerry Washington and Macy Gray, the mag says.
Shooting for the film inspired by Ntozake Shange’s 1975 play starts in New York early this summer, and it should be released by early 2011.
In other Tyler Perry news, a red carpet premiere is being held next week in The Bahamas for “Why Did I Get Married Too,” which was shot there. If you happen to be vacationing at the Atlantis Resort in Nassau on March 29, you might notice the festivities.

Reality. CHECK.Monday April 5th went to see the movie.Struggle through out the night. Mind Wrestled.It wasn’t until today that I begin to intercede for every single person that watched this movie on the day I went.Oh My GOD.This happens in Real Life.I pray that the one and only TRUE LOVE That only GOD Himself can give begin to manifest in the Hearts of Men and Women. You people are pathetic. Black and white will always be an issue. The Family That Preys (watch it). It’s a good movie. There are lots and lots of movies nowadays that have no black people or one or two just to save face. But we all watch and love them nonetheless. If you don’t like Tyler or his movies, don’t watch, ignore, and keep your negative comments to yourself. Did we not just celebrate Easter and the resurrection of Jesus? Umm, love thy neighbor…isn’t that something he said?
