Fred Schneider has teamed up with RuPaul and the Foo Fighters in the past and now has his sights set on a new collaborative partner.
Or maybe the B-52s frontman was kidding when he said he was angling for a guest appearance on her cooking show.
His latest project, with the rock band The Superions, features the single “Who Threw the Ham at Me?” (Watch the nutty video here).
“But I’m a vegetarian,” Schneider sighed. Oh, well.
He hammed it up, pardon the pun, with close friends Tuesday night at Bistro Niko. He’s in town for “Fred Schneider’s Spring Thang Bingo Dance Party,” a benefit for Pets Are Loving Support (PALS) and the Georgia Music Hall of Fame.
The dinner party was hosted by PALS supporter Cathleen Smith Bresciani, Schneider’s close friend of more than 20 years. (”We met when we were 10,” he quipped).
During the soiree she passed around a few of the adorable frocks she creates for four-legged fashionsistas. See them for yourself at www.dixiedogwear.com. All proceeds are donated to PALS, which provides vet care and food for the companion animals of the critically ill in metro Atlanta.
And see Schneider for yourself at the Gold Room on Friday. Tickets are $20 for general admission, $40 for admission and seven “Disco Bingo,” cards and $75 for VIP admission that gets you into the upstairs lounge for a meet and greet with Schneider. Doors open at 6 p.m. and Bingo starts at 7 p.m. See www.palsatlanta.org or call 404-876-7257 for tickets.
