If PETA gets its way this will be "Tofu Fried" instead
Here’s the latest from the folks who wanted a robot bulldog to replace Uga on the UGA sidelines and a robot groundhog to replace Punxsutawney Phil on Groundhog Day.
PETA wants the Grammy-winning Zac Brown Band to make a little tweak to “Chicken Fried” and make it “Tofu Fried” instead.
“We’re writing today in the hope that you’ll extend your love of freedom to animals,” the animal rights group wrote in a letter to the Georgia rockers. “In your song ‘Chicken Fried,’ you praise the simple pleasures of life—a cool drink, a home filled with love, enjoying the sunshine—all pastimes denied to the millions of cows, pigs, chickens, and other animals raised for food on factory farms every year.”
To help seal the deal PETA said it’s “sending the band a basket of delicious, protein-rich faux meats.”
No word on whether tofu products are set to appear on the band’s next album.

PETA has gotten nuttier over the past few years. Also- why do they hate plants so much? All they want to do is eat plants? That is very cruel.

I think PETA exists just to b**** and fuss to everyone. Change a song indeed. I hope ZBB writes a song about it – something like “I’ll leave the tofu, for little ol’ you”. Tofu Fried indeed. And you wonder why people don’t take PETA seriously.

Anyone who hands out flyers to children at school showing animals being slaughtered with the intention of upsetting them, are terrorists, nothing more. They should be jailed.

Well at least we know where all the crackheads have gone to work, cause it’s become overly obvious they are smoking ALOT of something at PETA and it ain’t pot. Surely no one takes them serious anymore. What a bunch of morons!

Well, I for one, never ate chicken or anything else “chicken fried” before I heard the great ZBB.
Now I hate chickens. I eat them every chance I get.
PETA is right on. That song has brainwashed me. It is my own little Helter Skelter.
Thank you PETA for your help!!!!

PETA exists to raise money. Thats it. They get a few rich wackos to give them seed money and then they spend their time getiing people to join and donate so they can spend more money pissing off farmers, fisherman, slaughterhouses, and fur farms. Man has been surviving on animals since the beginnning of time and now its all of a sudden we are supposed to change because they say so? Its a substitute for true religion with these people. Pass the A-1 please.

PETA needs to learn how to pick a good fight, instead of just flailing around like a blind retard.

Peta needs to get a life! Everybody is not a vegetarian. I guess it is inhumane to raise chickens for eggs? After all, it must be very painful on the hens to lay that big ole egg!!!!!

PETA members, what about us, persecuted, innocent plants that are grown, cut, boiled and eaten with no rights at all. We can’t speak up either. Why do your sacred animals eat us . . .

I wish PETA would get and clue and get out of people’s business.
They need to stick to real cruelty issues and stop tryin to tell people what to eat and what to wear.
I love fried chicken, a good rib eye steak, beef stew, buffalo burgers, roast beef, and on and on and on. So I expect to hear from PETA.

These PETA people are frickin idiots! If they want to live that way, then fine , go do it but don’t try and cram your lifestyle down my throat! I know Zac and there is NO WAY he’s going vegan. He didn’t hire Chef Rusty to feed the guys tofu sandwiches! The only good chicken is a DEAD one thats been on the smoker for about 2 to 3 hours and smothered in bbq sauce! And while your at it, wrap it up in some smoked bacon from that DEAD pig! I think ZBB should have a big order frpm Jim & Nick’s delivered to Peta’s office.

This is to say the least, laughable! I Live in Habersham County, well known for our Chicken Farming but since the release of “chicken fried” we have not been able to keep up with the rise on demand of chickens! So please take what PETA is saying to heart and just decide to eat plants and become mal-nourished!
And remember— Work Hard… Millions on welfare depend on YOU!

I sincerely hope everyone who reads this understands that the majority of animals raised on farms in the US are treated humanely. As a livestock producer struggle to understand PETA’s standpoint and where they get their false information. PETA is wanting to abolish all animal agriculture in the US and force their beliefs on the rest of us. I personally enjoy my chicken fried and I hope that the Zac Brown Band will continue to do the same.
