Rue McClanahan (left), who played the sassy Southern belle Blanche Devereaux on the ’80s sitcom “Golden Girls,” is in a N.Y. hospital recovering from bypass surgery.
According to ETOnline, the TV star got a physical after complaining of shortness of breath. Her doctor found that she had a heart problem that required bypass surgery.
A rep says the surgery was a success, and she’s expected to be released within a couple of weeks.
Castmate Betty White (the lovable, yet naive, Rose) continues to appear in movies, while Bea Arthur (the brainiac with a deep voice Dorothy) died earlier this year.
