You know, that might be an interesting point to make, Jim, except there are an awful lot of single white mothers out there, too. And another point that could be made is, if black men make such horrible mates why do so many white women want them? The problem isn’t race, it’s respect. It’s education, teaching men how to treat women from an early age. Anger management is a huge problem in this country, not only affecting domestic relationships but all interaction here and abroad. Violence is violence, no matter whom it is directed toward.

I am happy for Ellen. Ellen seems to be hitting her stride and enjoying a wealth on new success. Especially bittersweet considering her sitcom being canceled soon after her self “outing”. I wish her luck as a new judge on American Idol. I’ve noticed she now is a spokesperson for a major cosmetic company and her syndicated talk show banks solid ratings.
Sadly, I wish Oprah would retreat. Overexposed and with Godzilla like tact, Oprah has believes the image of the God to be cast her in likeness.

OMG Nooooooooooooooo.. Who is he? Just playing. This is really unfortunate that celebrities can’t seem to escape these types of circumstances even after their star has risen (somewhat in this case..) I wonder why he was burgalarizing and trespassing in Coweta County? Maybe this is fake and he was wrongly jailed, “LIKE THE CHICAGO POLICEMAN” WHO GIVING OUT FAKE DUI’S.
I read about it on that site you have to decode to read the actual story. It’s a really good piece once you decode it –

Everyone makes a mistake and is susceptible to going back but ultimately she made the right choice and can teach these dumb ass young girls who still support CB (i don’t even say his name anymore) not to accept any old thing in life – even if you love them.

I’m going to give Katt Williams the benefit of the doubt; burglary? Naw, man – something else has to be up with this. Anybody that short with a pressed out hair don’t burglarize; because that would make for some interesting jail time. Who knows what the whole story is, but I’m sure we’ll here all about it in his next stand-up routine. This type of comedic material is priceless. It’s gonna be good, can’t wait to see it!

Thanks Phil!! Micah aka Katt is my family member and before people begin assuming what took place, lets wait for the burden of proof to fall where it may! Micah definitely has no need to rob, burglarize or take anything from anyone. Now the question most likely should be is what did someone owe him that he felt the need to take?!?!?! Contrary to popular relief, he is not broke. Haven’t you ever had a bad hair day?

I don’t think it is amusing to poke at the demise of others. Just because they are in the public eye doesn’t mean they don’t have feelings too. I don’t know what is going on with Katt but I pray he can get through it as he is a very talented comedian. I also pray for his kids.

Everyone hasn’t been to jail, so we wouldn’t have the natural assumption that most of the scum that visit jail on a frequent basis, are forced to shower.
And Katt loves weed, don’t hide it people. Pray for him all you want, the man loves to smoke. I saw him high in the IHOP in Newnan a few weeks ago around 2AM, with all his buddies. I don’t have to personally know him to say he’s got issues. I can see idiots on the streets begging for change and know they have an issue without personally knowing them.

Whether she was feeling her husband or not, what she did was disrespectful. I cannot imagine how it feels to be sitting in the audience amongst your peers and your spouse is intimately kissing someone else in front of thousands of people. That has to be humiliating at best. I’m sure their problems didn’t start on stage with that kiss. However, if he’s done something to disrespect her, then she should deal with that at home not at the Soul Train awards. Whatever message she was trying to send her hubby, I guarantee you he got it. I just hope their 2 little boys are OK.

I think their issues are from something else, as the first post said, she was on Frank and Wanda promoting her CD and when asked about the song she stated that she wrote it at a time when she had some ill feelings toward him and a few months ago that he was almost yesterday(which is the name of the song), she seemed to want to get into it, however Frank Ski cut her off. So, I would say that I don’t think the kiss has anything to with their problems, probably was her way of getting back at him for whatever it was that he did.

There is always more to the story than the public knows. However, if things were rocky before the show and he was in the audience this was not a good look. Performance my ass, I don’t think shes that much of a cougar and Kerry had to be insulted and embarassed when he saw it. Somethings should be left private and she invited the whole world in to humilate him it appears. This was not the kind of thing a mature, married woman with kids does on TV. It was just foul! Toni, did not make a wise choice but this too shall pass. Her problems at home should remain at home but I will say this, If it was my husband and he had sex with my sister, three would have been two fresh dug graves. I would not speak to that sister either. I also would have done an Leona on him and found a hungry dog to feed the little weenie to. I like Toni. She has her hands full with her sons and her career. I think she should have dealt with the problems at home and left his behind alone early.

This is the problem, people want to ASSUME that because someone is famous they don’t have the same vices as the next. Some days I don’t feel like makeup and may want to throw my hair back in a ponytail. This is life. Those who see it any other way are living in a fantasy world.
So what he smokes weed!!! So does the majority of America! That doesn’t make him a loser or a bad person. We’ll leave that argument for another day. What we must do is respect that there are two sides to every story and that Micah is innocent until proven guilty. Katt Williams is not a “thug”(which in my opinion is a racist statement). I like TG and his wife is hot, and I also abhor animal abuse, but I can think of a hundred different ways to stop animal abuse. Joining up with PETA is not one of them. Those dingbats are several disconnected from reality. It’s hard to take them seriously when they’ve asked for the following:
1. Wanting people to use human breast milk instead of cow’s milk for ice cream
2. Wanting people to start calling fish “sea kittens”, with the hope that the association with cute kittens will make people stop catching fish.
I also read that their president once said that even if animal testing resulted in a cure for AIDS, her organization would not support it. Talk about ignorance at it’s finest. Lastly, I see PETA was real quick to jump on the Michael Vick situation due to all the publicity, yet they have been strangely silent on this case so far:

I believe that animals should be treated humanely, but PETA is one of the most morally upside-down organizations on the planet and for Tony G to associate himself with them is truly disappointing.
This is the same organization that equated the slaughtering of chicken with the Holocaust – do an internet search for “Holocaust on your plate.”
There is no moral equivalence between people and chickens… and this kind of thinking shows the moral confusion of that organization.
Again, we should treat animals as humanely as possible, but this campaign, in my view, has misplaced priorities.
That being said, I have no interest in furs, have never owned one, and frankly think they look silly.

PETA ’s philosophy is not Biblical. We are to have dominion over the animals. However, the Bible does not condone cruelty to animals. Using animals for food or clothing is not cruel. Animals are a gift from God and we are to treat them humanely, especially in using them for food or clothing. PETA is off the deep end. They once claimed on a billboard in Atlanta that Jesus was a vegetarian, when it is clear He was not. They are dishonest and whatever they say is suspect. I admire Tony Gonzalez as a football player and his work ethic and espousal of excellence, but am very disappointed in his politics. However, we have the freedom to believe as we like.

Here’s my 2cents….I personally believe her husband did do something. Whatever he did had nothing to do with the kiss. She is a performer. When you marry someone in the game those types of things (kisses) go along with the territory. It helps sale the message of the song. Actors and actresses have to kiss on stage/screen all the time. I believe the hubby was feeling guilty about his dirt and has been sitting back waiting for pay back and came to his own conclusion that that was it or, decided he couldn’t wait around for pay back to come and just jumped ship. Das right!

Now her and Jermaine (who dissed Michael in a song, “You Said” about him bleaching his skin) are using Michael’s death to stay in the limelight. The kiss yes it was done in a performance but not at a restuarant else where so get over it and be entertained. How the hubby takes this I’m sure it is for them to tuckle or had done so prior to the kiss. She was on Kevin Hill years back and she did a scene where she kissed on set and she was married. that never called for a disrespect or no class whatsoever.
Now back to the music ya’ll and be entertained. I love me some Toni and Yesterday is a great song.

Entertainer of the Year – I think Taylor could win this, but think Kenny or Brad will win this. I think Brad should win this. While Taylor has pulled in large numbers to concerts, entertaining tweens isn’t what country music is about. But, anyway, it could happen.
Best Female Vocalist – I think “anyone” could win as that’s the way of awards, but I don’t think Taylor will win. While the CMA’s have consistently rewarded Kenny as being the “best entertainer in country music”, they’ve never made fools of themselve by naming him “best male vocalist”, but he has a ton of trouble staying in tune like Swift. Although he is better vocally than Swift. I think Swift has a better chance to win Entertainer of the Year than Female Vocalist. The members of the CMA’s will doubtfully make fools of themselves by calling her a great vocalist.
Best Female vocalist – should and will go to Carrie Underwood. While Swift has huge sales this year, she still did not come close to becoming a “vocalist”. The entire field of nominees should and would win before she does, but Underwood is by far and away the best in this field and has several more years of this to win. I believe by this time next year she’ll have won it more than anyone in history with only more years to follow.

Kenny played for the 8th yr. in a row, to over a million fans. Swift too, will have many oppertunities to win this award. kenny will take next year off. Kenny Chensey has my vote.

I once dated then lived with a nymphomaniac, not realizing at first that meant she could never be faithful. She cheated with at least four other men and another woman before I’d had enough. It takes a lot to tip the scales when you’re a nympho’s main squeeze.
So, on topic, maybe Fergie is fighting nymphomania.

Fergie needs to have her hairline moved back about 3 inches. She looks like some kinda throwback to the Neanderthals with that lack of forehead space. If her man did sleep with that bimbo stripper I sure hope he slipped her some roofies in her drink , that clownish southern accent would have killed my libido the first word outa her southern ghetto mouth.

For ETOY, it should be one of the guys – either Kenny, Keith or Brad. Those three have the album and ticket sales combined over Taylor. My gut says it will be Kenny for a 5th time taking over the lead from Garth. However, I really think this is Brad’s award to lose. Taylor should feel honored to be included in this group. Those who know the CMA members know that a female has to really out-do a male to win this award. She doesn’t have that yet. Unfortunately for Taylor – country radio are not the ones propping up her album sales or getting her number 1 records – you can thank the pop stations for that and trust me, the CMA voters know this.
Male Vocalist – Brad Paisley. Hands down on this one. I could see Keith stealing it, but a great year and 11 strait #1s has this one all but wrapped up.
Female Vocalist – Carrie Underwood. Carrie has become a favorite for the CMA members and should capture her 3rd straight honor. Don’t be surprised if Reba steals this one though. She has had a great year. Personally I would love to see my fav Martina McBride get back into the win category here, but I really think Carrie has this one and deservedly so. Sorry Taylor, you are a great song writer, but bad vocalist.
Vocal Group – Rascal Flatts. Rather see Georgia bands Zac Brown Band or Lady Antebellum take this one home, but the Flatts get it one more time before these other two bands take over for future shows/awards.
Vocal Duo – Brooks and Dunn. Sugarland deserves it, but are not calling it a career. B&D get the sentimental vote and take home the award one last time.
Album – Taylor Swift – Fearless. No one came close to her album success this year
Single of the Year – People are Crazy/Billy Currington. Chart topping success and a great song.
Song of the Year – In Color/Jamey Johnson-James Otto. Awesome song. Award goes to the writers.

RC is right to an extent on Taylor. She is a great person, but let’s remember how she got into Country Music – because of the internet popularity of her first song. She can write like no tomorrow and deserves the BMI award she picked up yesterday. But that is where her talent stops and even that is becoming stale with her very short topic list. She needs to broaden her writing and get better at singing. Unfortunately for her, once the tween years wear off, she will be relegated to song writing duty mainly. Don’t believe me? Just look at the long list of overnight pop stars who are nothing now. Swift success is in the same boat because of her fan base. It is not traditionally country fans who support her, but fans who will find someone else next year.

The person named Jimmy who posted “LMAO” is 100% right.
I mean, seriously, how can anyone with half a brain that isn’t shared say something like “I learned through talking with my therapist that it is still cheating even if it is with girls, so there’s a rule there.”
First, this was not known until well into adulthood?
Second, this was not presumed (because, you know, we all have ‘common sense’)?
Third, this was not shared even tangentially by a loved one (i.e. parent, aunt, uncle, etc.) at some other point in time
Fourth, it took therapy for this to come to light?
Jiminy crickets!

One thing some of us fell to realize is transitioning from normal life to the public image, “quote un quote,” life style change. Let’s face reality, women can pick and choose any man they want, as well as the man, actor/sportmans. Without being committed, having interactions with so many women and men in your day-to-day activities, there are to many choices. What can the other do for each other? It’s probably better if both just be friends because the “Mind, Body, Soul, and Spirit,” is not to be taken out of contex. Toni and her husband are not teenagers.

These grown folks are MARRIED — not dating or talking. A kiss does not (should not) end a good marriage — too much at stake. There’s more to this story! Toni and her hubby haven’t been seen together in interviews and at shows for some time. More than likely, they’ve been separated for a while. Kissing during an awards show is all “de riguer”. Don’t we expect some interesting duo to get lip-locked or do something sexually charged for the cameras? Come on! Plus, Toni is not just a singer, she’s also an actress…and Trey Songz primarily makes high school-age and college girls (14-24) swoon. That was probably staged. Anyway, Trey appears to be the kind of guy who likes the promo from this incident than actually enjoying a sensual kiss from a woman.

Wow, you completely miss the one that consists of actual music performed on actual instruments by actual musicians. Them Crooked Vultures, a rock “supergroup” consisting of Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters, Probot, Nirvana), Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age, Eagles of Death Metal) and the great John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin. I suppose you do have your finger on the pulse of the pop and hip-hop scene, which probably will sell more albums.

I haven’t seen the interview, but I like Janet. I watched her in Good Times when she was just a little girl, and she talked the same as she does now. As far as Dupri, I knew that would not last. He is just too ugly for her. He probably is real nice, like less than attractive men are, but you still have to look at them. I hope he doesn’t think that she was using him, because when they got together, she really needed someone to worship her, and he did. All women need that at some point in their lives. Good Luck Janet.

Ms Simon, you are an ignorant small minded woman. Maybe we should throw you back to salem and the witch-hunts where you belong. Furthermore, where are these so-called molested children and their parents today? Michael is dead. They can’t be sued by him. The reason they don’t have anything to say is because it NEVER happened and their meal ticket is deceased. Frankly, if I had been molested, I would be the first person to hit Larry King and talk about these “alleged” incidents. But they are silent. Incognito. MIA. There’s a reason for that and only someone as stupid as you miss the obvious.

mitzymy,
How is Jermaine Dupri being unattractive to you an indication their relationship would not last? And we wonder why so many of “us” are still single. Janet Jackson married the stereotypical “pretty light skinned brotha” and a Latino and she still was unhappy and went through hell. I never even heard her talk about being happy dating until she got with JD. Its apparent that great looks do not equal happiness and a good relationship. You need to learn to unwrap the pretty package and see what’s really inside. You might not like it once you do.

I think Michael was born before his time so to speak. I don’t think he molested little boys I think little boys had parents who wanted money and would do anything to get it. A man showing love to a little boy doesn’t mean he is molesting, but some people who have never been loved and have hate built up within themself would see this of course. Actually he paid the family for this to go away because he was just sick of it. For you Simon to say that I not really know is said but you are entitled to your opinion and anyone else who agrees with you is totally wrong I think. I think the Jacksons are a close knit family. I think Janet is Janet she said it best it is what it is. I wish her the best, from a entertainer stand point she is not one of my favorites but it doesn’t stop me from liking her. And those who said her family is disgusting how do you know, were you there? Peace out people.

I also don’t think that Jermaine is the best looking person, but isn’t beauty in the eye of the beholder? If he made Janet happy and she loved him, then that should be all that matters..
David C..A little harsh don’t you think..How would you like to be judged by something that your brother or sister did? I know that I would hate to be judged by things that my family has done..I don’t think that Michael abused any of those children, but that’s just my opinion..I agree with the poster that said, it was a group of parents that thought they had found a way to get money..

I have always been a huge Janet fan but let’s face it, she’s kinda weird. And for the record, that baby voice is fake. It was quick but when they showed her in the studio w/ Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis she was speaking in her normal voice. She got that from her brother and they were extremely close so it makes sense that she’d try to emulate him. They looked alike before all the plastic surgery but she really looks a lot like Mike, post-surgery as well. It just sucks that Jermaine has that massive tattoo on his body now. The ink’s barely dry on that thing and they’re not even together. I don’t know what happened but you can tell she really loves him.
And people need to leave MJ alone!!!! The man is dead now. I will never believe he molested anyone; he was only guilty of putting himself in that position. And not only has his accuser admitted it was all a lie, his father just committed suicide. That alone speaks volulmes.

Janet looks good, she just have lost a step or two in watching preview of video. I only caught the part of interview where Robin said Janet has been now been responsible for her own lyrics. They say lyrics supposed to relate to her life, but that doesn’t seem like her not to have Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis to write her songs which has been that way for years. On the breakup, there was some talk about her and Dupri was supposed to tie the knot, but for them to be together for so long and breakup now, that had to have something to do with it.

To Ms. Simon/David C/ and spot on Karina – the man is gone – respect his family. I am trying to figure out the Simons’, davids, and karinas…If this man really did this – then the parents need to carry the blame. The continuously took their children around him. It was always families that didn’t have anything (thanks-CWilli for pointing that out) you never heard (McCauley) in fact he stated that Michael never touched him – Let’s really look at something – what parent in their right mind if a child was molested by someone – would take a PAYOFF and why haven’t we heard from these kids that should be nearing adult hood claiming that they are ruined because of this – we haven’t because…IT DIDN’T HAPPEN…

I initially liked her; and yes, she’s done many great things. And as a Black woman I am proud of her success. But the power has corrupted her; she’s become nastily self-righteous and a praise-hog.
I hope she takes some time away from the airwaves for a bit–like a few years. She and Gayle–maybe they’ll move to Africa and live happily ever after. Just go away for a while…if not for good. But that won’t happen.
And she is not a racist; au contrare. Oprah has done very LITTLE to benefit Blacks, especially Black women. She rarely has Blacks on her show and has NEVER really touted goods/services by Blacks. Meanwhile, Oz, Berkus, Rachel, Phil, etc. she makes them stars and gives them shows. She has never really supported Blacks unless they were already in the public eye or already friends of hers. [Unfortunately, not many Black female Oprah fans recognize this; they’ve drunk the Oprah kool-aid or attend the Church of Oprah. It’s time for her to go; it really is. She and Gayle.

True American, I think you have it all wrong as most liberals do. We aren’t hatemongers…we never have been. You need to think outside the box and find out what real conservatism really is. However, regarding Oprah, all shows eventually run their course and I think that perhaps the Oprah Winfrey show has run its course. You won’t hear us conservatives saying you liberals are hate mongers because thats not our MO. We don’t work that way. So, Yes oprah will be missed as much as any show is missed on tv. To all of the hateful spirited people who type in their ugly remarks, my advise to you is to keep hiding behind the computer. You all will take any subject and turn it into a race issue especially if the subject is a bout a person who isn’t white. Do you really think that the only color God was able to create was white? People don’t fear God anymore and this is so obvious. Oprah, has done more for people period than she had to. No one really knows who all Oprah has blessed, so why would anyone say she has not helped black people. She may have, but may have done it in private. When you bless someone why should you have to publicize it to everyone? This is why God chooses wisely who he blesses with a lot of money because people are so evil minded. Who have any of you helped lately?

Oh no! What will people do now that they cannot watch the Gospel of Oprah – how will they know what to do, eat, read or think!? Sorry but she lost many a followers when she said -“There couldn’t possibly be only one way to God, there must be millions of ways to God,” and thus has denied traditional Christian faith on Jesus Christ who said, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”.

What great news that the show is finally going away! I haven’t watched Oprah since the late 90s. Remember when her audience members could ask her guests questions? Remember when she covered current events and issues of the day? She was the female version of Phil Donohue— relevant, probing, informative.
Since the late 90s, she’s become a demi-god, and many of you subscribed to her self-created religion. Audience members no longer could ask questions; her topics were non-newsworthy; she began spewing her own psycho-babble and kool-aid; she began talking over experts that she invited to be on her show, not letting them get a word in otherwise; she had a non-stop parade of celebrities on her show; etc., etc., etc.
Oprah ceased from being a journalist and became a self-absorbed, self-created guru to many of you who have blindly followed like an addict looking for crack. Yes, she has helped many. Being generous and drinking your own kool-aid are NOT mutually exclusive things. Anyone who knows the Bible and world history understands that. If you don’t know the difference, I pity you.
It’s about time that you find a more productive way to spend your 4 o’clock hour.

2011, huh? I was laughing at the notion that they may replace her with Michelle Obama. LOL, right?
But then, I got to thinking: Michelle is beloved by women. They have similar views, empathies, and styles. They are both high-profile. And Michelle Obama lives in Chicago and is well-connected there.
There would be an hiatus of sorts in the talk-show circuit until Barack finishes their second term (which will be almost an absolute certainty that he will have, given the current group of potential Republican contenders- with the exception of Mitt Romney… but they’ll NEVER let him be the nominee. He’s not conservative enough and he’s a Mormon.)
But after all is said and done, Michelle might be the pick.

A STRONG BLACK WOMAN!
I really like Tony as an artist, however, there is a certain respect that you should have for yourself as a woman, mother, wife, artist, etc. Whatever, her and her husband were going through (if it lead to this, You HANDLE IT BETTER than him! Like the strong black women were supposed to be!). Irregardless of his indiscretions, this should have been handle in a more tactful way. Hell, we’ve all been scorned and hurt in some kind of way. Do we always have to seek payback? Whatever her reasons were for doing this, I’m sure she has alot to think about now. The public did not need to see that on national television. What kind of message was she trying to send? My respect for her has diminished some!

Agree with some of the comments, however, I think once Oprah became a darling of the mega celebrities and lost touch with her audience and her rating went south. When she first hit the scene, many of the “folk” could relate to her. Even, joe blow felt he could have a decent conversation with her. No it is all flash and glitter. She went Hollywood.
Nevertheless, may the future hold only the best for Oprah. She is truly one of a kind.

Rumor has it that Toni Braxton and Keri Lewis are separated because of this. She should have used better judgement. Trey Songs probably has more groupies than he knows what to do with, not to mention the video models. I don’t believe this will lead to anything between them. She must have jumped out there not thinking straight with this publicity stunt, and it backfired. If I was K. Lewis, I’d be out as well. That was just way too easy, out there for the world to see, and in front of his face. What goes on when he’s not around? There is no excuse for a married woman to behave in such a way. Toni should have demonstrated more class.

I went to see Tyler Perry’s new stage play Laugh to Keep from Crying. I think I could have wrote that play in 20 minutes. Tyler Perry had to have written that play in one day. I just did not find in heart, meaning behind all the singing. I think most of Tyler Perry’s movies are just words with zero meaning.
I think we just got pulled in – into having more black movies and overlooked the fact that most of Tyler Perry movies are not good -there just loud.
When I was watching the stage play I thought there is zero con. to the audiences.

I think overall it was kind of a strange night, with all of the futuristic props and costumes- and the failing sound system ruined the show. Seemed low budget. When I watched Adam perform I was impressed with the opening and his beautiful voice, but when the track and the back up singers chimed in it got messy. I blame the sound coordinators-Adam had to fight to maintain control over that situation. And when he stumbled I felt so bad for him. I wish it had gone better for him. I am a die hard Adam fan and was not at all surprised by his androgynous sexual exploits. That’s how he’s always been-he just tamed it down for AI. He’s being true to himself and I love all the shades of Adam. True fans will stick by him. I just wish he had waited until after the album was released to shock America. Sales for album#1 predict if there is going to be album#2. I will buy anything he creates EVER. I feel he deserved to have a better performance than this, technically speaking. I love his gender bending antics, but I feel it would have been better to wait a little further into his career to try to shake things up so much. He’s got to establish a large base first. Still my favorite singer ever!!!

“True fans” are not enough to keep Adam Lambert up to par year after year like other artists. Tonight was Adam’s chance to shine and win new fans over and sustain his present fan base and he blew it. I am a fan and I was utterly disappointed and embrassed I had phoned in friends and family to watch the performance. WhatI thought would be a glorious moment ended in utter defeat. What in the world was he thinking? Is this the real Adam? What about the sassy guy I saw prancing across stage doing a sexylicious Bowie Medly dance on tour? Where was the sole Adam Lambert giving us those sexy grins and smiles and air humps? Instead, we had an Adam Lambert who was more into entertaining himself and more bent on proving a point, always using glamrock or other artisits as a shield to hide behind to try to justify himself. Tonight proved to me he is a poser. He has no integrity, no humility. His voice was lost. I couldn’t see the blue in his eyes. I just saw this overly confident good-looking singer make a fool of himself and embarrass many fans infront of millions. Sadly, I I can see his overconfidence and ego paving the way to an early grave. He won’t make it. The 2nd album? No way. I am going to listen to it and make sure I like it before I buy it. No more frenzy – the love is gone. He was so disappointing. I am so sad, utterly defeated.

I consider myself to be a fan of most types of music but I have truly never heard more CRAP in my life! What is American music coming too??? PLEASE!!!! All the rap and just plain weird costumes and in my opinion “over the edge” performances. Adam Lambertt is probably the best vocalist since Robert Plant, HOWEVER, his performance was completley inapproiate! His album has not even dropped yet and he basically rubbed his sexual orientation in the faces of America. Not a good idea Adam! I’m not taking away his talent because it speaks for itself, but I was offended and shocked myself. Too much too soon!! Whatever happened to good, wholesome, REAL music!! All this other stuff takes away from the talent of these singers. Rhianna is a wonderful singer with a beautiful voice. She did not need all the dramatics that went on last night. Lady Gaga….I never really liked her much, BUT watching her last night it is my opinion that she is truly a gifted singer and songwriter. I just can’t stand how over the top she is…it turns me off! Whitney was wonderful! Janet was soso, Jennifer Lopez was pretty good. All in all, the night for me was a 5 on a scale from 1-10

Adam Lambert says that “it’s about the music”. If he wants people to like the music he needs to stay focused on the music. I continue to be a fan but the edges are starting to fray. If his performance was for shock value, he succeeded. The sad part is, if he had simply focused on his incredible, over-the-top voice he would have received the same amount of attention. The generation who has pushed her to the top is that same generation raised on Barbie … here’s a thought … Taylor Swift popularity can be traced to the fact that she is really non-threatening … familiar … and like Barbie … attractive without a wit of sexuality. Unless of course you count those cowboy boots and the fantasies induced for some out there. Am I being unkind. No, I just want to leave ‘vanilla’ to the ice cream counter.

I am a big fan of Adam Lambert, love his song & music video from the 2012 movie, however very disapointed in his performance at the AMA’s it was like Fred Astair meets the Rocky Horror Picture show. I have always considered myself to be broad minded however some of his moves were just to way over the top with the female dancer. He is a super entertainer who does not need cheap theatrics like those exhibited last night, and the screaming song put out as his new single was to say the least a scream fest of total crap.

What you guys are failing to remember is that the AMA’s are voted on by the fans. There is a poll that lists each artist in each category. Then the fans vote on the top 3/4. From that list they tally the votes and you get your winner. If you did not vote on any website or send in your vote from any rag-mag, don’t complain about the outcome.

Anybody…. and I do mean anybody….. can go out there and put on a show where you and others are writhing around and grabbing your genitals, insinuating sex acts as well as acting them out on stage, and being mediocre in the process. Omg..Awful was the only word I can discribe the AMA show. I have never seen so many over the top bad performances that Lacked Talent, taste, and was quite scary. Janet was just ok.(nothing new there but I love that shes getting respect again after nipplegate which damn near ended her career) Now for the worst performances by folks who shouldn’t even be allowed on any stage. Lady Ga Ga: Omg. I was so worried that one of those sparks of flame with fly off and either set this crazy woman on fire or burn down the whole damn house! Whats with all that Flame and smoke? My goodness. and the breaking of bottles on the piano? What an Awful message to send to the younger generation. The performance was horriable. she sounded like a wreck. Whatever Hole she crawled out of. Please send her back. She was one of the worst. The fire was scary and a turnoff. that was NOt art but just plain dangerous and stupid. grade F for scarying me to death!
Timberland in those leather pants, omg..dude you need to hit the treadmill or back off the porkchops. grade : D- just for the leather pants that were screaming from his weight.
Rhianna..What the hell was that? I have seen better performances at a night club with folks who can actually Sing. she looked and sounded a mess. grade..F- I dont get her at all.
Michael Jackson I love him. but giving awards to a person who has won so many while he was alive is very unfair to continue to give and he is not here to acknowledge it. besides it wouldnt have meant anything much. He had the world in his hands. Giving awards to dead folks is not fair to the living. sorry. MJ is gone. give someone living a chance.
Didnt even watch emenim or 50cent. cant stand either one of those clowns.
Didnt see Adam Lambert(was so turned off after Timberland I cut off the tv and went to bed) but heard it was over the top..Suprised? He was over the top on AI. why was folks suprised?
Black Eye Peas? OK..whatever.
JLo..LOL..not sure what that was.

@ rod……With the Jay-Z/Alicia Keys duet, maybe you should fact check. Alicia Keys and Jay-Z are from New York. Alicia Keys is known to be a fan of hip-hop. Not all hip-hop is Lil Wayne and Soldier Boy. If you took the time to listen to the lyrics of the song, you would discover that the song is speaking about people who have made it big in New York, things that are associated with the city, and the irony of how people can become successful in NY, but at the same time that there is a lot of poverty and shadiness in the city as well. And to bash “rap” and praise “LAMERT”? After that performance your opinion about hip-hop, or any other genre for that matter, would be invalid. I mean a dude or woman for that matter, grabbing someone and rubbing there face in their crotch on a nationally televised show? And people are still mad about Janet’s “nipplegate”? Where are the standards period? Adam Lambert is talented and has a great voice, but to perform like he did was not necessary. Anyone who would say that was art and great and whatever other positive accolades given, really has no valid negative opinions about any other person’s performance. Just accept the fact that you like one thing and others don’t, and others like one thing and you don’t.

Public television should NOT be airing the filth that we saw with Adam Lambert’s “production”. I don’t want to hear that it is free speach, people are too uptight, get over it, etc. That looked like soft core porn. Way worse than a “nipple slip” or a 4 letter word. Many of the performances “pushed the envelope” but the last one was way over the line. Offensive, vile and disgusting.

Yeah Gloriana. I was very happy they got it over the overhyped GaGa. I’m tired of watching her see how much of a freak she can be. What was with the body suit with the strategically placed extra straps and junk.
Adam Lambert. I like him, I like his music. That performance – not so much… I was really surprised he did that on nationally tv.

OMG, what a horrible show. Absolutely NO talent from anyone. JayZ and Alicia were good, Janet was horrible and what was she wearing, OMG! And J-Lo, she needs to stick to acting, she was way to heavy to move around that stage, awful! Eminem wasn’t bad, can’t stand 50. Adam Lambert was too much, Shakira-awful awful awful…Kelly Clarkston can sing, but she didn’t choose a good song and she might need to shed a few pounds to work the stage. That solo number Alicia Keys did, she could have kept. And Kanye West has put Taylor Swift on the map BIG time. She has talent, she’s cute and she’s sweet, but she’s not all that! Come on now…Overall, the entire show rates a D-

I cannot describe how embarrassed and disappointed I am in the American music scene and the networks that give it airtime. Not only did most of the music suck, what the “artists” do to attract attention is embarrassing. As one who grew up as a kid outside the country I was always proud that America’s music and art scene was emulated by the rest of the world. Today, I shudder at the image we portray to our kids and the rest of the world.

Ah Yes, I now see why I have ALWAYS swayed toward the genre of music that is NEVER recognized or awarded in the public mainstream. The bands I listen to are FANTASTIC but no one has ever heard of them. At least no one that listens to the mainstream media crap that is top 40, Country or “Alternative” (Alternative, hmph, what a joke… its just as mainstream as top 40 is)
I’ll stick with my unique blend of music and enjoy it.
Oh… and I am SO glad Michael Jackson didn’t win artist of the year being that he hasn’t done ANYTHING recently. That would of been a complete Joke had he won.

Adams performance was just a pathetic attempt to try to shock people. There was nothing new or shocking about his performance. People putting Taylor S. down need to check some facts. Kanye didn’t put her where she is-she put herself there. The girl outsold most artist this past year. So glad to see someone can make it big with their music and not have to act a fool to do it!

I really am shocked at how little talent was on display last night. It’s no wonder aging, past-their-prime rock acts keep drawing big crowds. As old and creaky as they are, they still are more entertaining than most of the modern stars.
I miss the days when an act “made” it in music by having talent and working their way up through the club circuit. Today there is too much emphasis on looks and not enough on musical talent. Maybe when music sales slip so low they barely have a pulse the record companies will wake up and figure this out.

Look folks…the music industry is fake. 20 yrs ago you had to have talent, nowadays, you must be able to be packaged and with that package comes an expiration date. The Taylor Swifts and Jonas Brothers of the world fade after a few years and are replaced with the next interchangable part.
As for Adam Lambert, all this guy talks about his being gay. Before the show he was asked about how one of his “friends” was quoted by saying his shows are not GAY enough. I guess he decided to GAY it up for the masses. Look I do not understand these folks need to SHOW out. Its not going to change minds or make people feel better about you to act this way.
American Music Awards, Grammy’s and all award shows are frauds. Never about talent like it used to be…its all about sales and marketing.
Again…is Taylor better than MJ? I rest my case.

Considering Lambert gave much lip-service to wanting fame due to his vocal abilities. he decided to go with the typical unoriginal fall-back plan of “shock and sex.” Not sure Lambert, his mgmt or ABC have a brain cell to spare between them. They all dropped the ball big time and set Lamberts career back a year or two. Maybe derailed it permanently!! Not that I’m too surprised. Fame and arrogance has come early to Lambert.

Adam Lambert’s performance was 100% disgusting. Are you serious????
Janet Jackson looked liked she was going hunting for wolves What was she wearing? She sounded horrible when she wasn’t lip synching.
Jermaine Jackson looked like “Plastic Man”.
Jay Z and Alicia Keys were the best last night and I don’t even like hip hop. They tore it up.
Rihanna looked a hot mess and sounded even worse.
J Lo I didn’t get it.
Timbaland loose some weight. Step away from the twinkies
Lada Gaga was downright scary.
Whitney Houston looked 100% better. I think she sounded horrible.
Mary J Blige what the hell???
Carrie Underwood. Pretty girl, didn’t get her performance.
Daughtry sucked last night.
Kellie Clarkson sounded wonderful, looked BLOATED.
Eminem/50 sucked.
Anybody else, not worth mentioning.

The performance was not suitable for public television. There is a reason the the FCC exists. It appears you feel anything should be allowed and the answer is to just look the other way.

Timbaland loose some weight. Is this even possible?
Jesus people learn to use these words correctly. It kills me so many people do not understand loose from lose.
Loose- free or released from fastening or attachment: a loose end.
free from anything that binds or restrains; unfettered: loose cats prowling around in alleyways at night.
Lose- to come to be without (something in one’s possession or care), through accident, theft, etc., so that there is little or no prospect of recovery: I’m sure I’ve merely misplaced my hat, not lost it.
to fail inadvertently to retain (something) in such a way that it cannot be immediately
Read a friggin book sometime instead of sitting in front of the idiot box.

I can’t believe prime time aired the filth that we saw with Adam Lambert’s “performance”. It was very distasteful and with young children watching it was inappropriate. Way worse than a “nipple slip” or a 4 letter word. Way much over the top:offensive, vile and disgusting. There is a time and place for everything most definitely not on prime time tv with so many different age groups watching. Adam should be fined and required to make a public apology.
