Biggest Game of the Year Coming Up!
ACC Title Game is the Biggest of the Season
Make no mistake GT fans…the #1 goal of the team this season is the win the ACC title game.
A win there would propel the Jackets into their first BCS bowl game and their first major bowl since the Citrus when we secured a share of the 1990 National Title. A win would give us a chance to finish the season with a BCS win that would propel us to a potential Top 5 finish as the owners of a 12-2 record.
A win in the next two games would be a national statement heard well beyond Georgia’s state borders.
Let the UGA fans bark and chase their tails all they want. They have no impact on our chances for a conference title and Orange Bowl bid. They’re simply not relevant now that our game with them is behind us. We control our own destiny and path…not UGA.
As Paul Johnson has said more than once since he arrived on campus, “Good teams don’t lose two games in a row.” We have the chance to prove that tomorrow.
Speaking of Paul Johnson
I got a good laugh out of the recent “drama” resulting from his Coach’s radio interview comments. Those of us who have heard the interview know that he said it in jest and it was blown out of proportion in the local media. But we also know that he’s correct…partially.
Its not Paul Johnson’s responsibility to worry about your quality of life as a GT fan. Its not his responsibility to help you deal with UGA fans who don’t have any manners or won’t display good sportsmanship. He’s right…you have two choices…grow a thicker skin or do something about it yourself.
But we also know, listening to his comments, that Coach Johnson finally understands the nature of this rivalry. This isn’t Army vs Navy where the teams hate each other for 60 minutes on the field and then ultimately respect each other after the game. He got a good personal taste of UGA behavior both on and off the field last Saturday. And like he has said…he has a “long memory”.
This bodes well for the rivalry and for GT fans in general. It seems that Coach Johnson is getting some emotional investment in Clean Old Fashioned Hate.

Anyone else remember the recent story in the media about the guy who dressed up as an elf and bluffed a bomb threat at Southlake Mall?
Well, he’s apparently a UGA fan and this one might actually top the guy who ran through Hartsfield International Airport a few years ago and caused that scare.
That’s right…another UGA fan doing the Dawg Nation proud! I couldn’t make this stuff up if I had to!

I think Tech fans wanted the Georgia game but in fact Tech needs this game. The ACC title would do so much more for the program in tangible ways (prestige, recruiting, etc.) that beating u[sic]ga wouldn’t have done. It still hurts that we lost to the Buttlickers, but oh well…we are the ones playing tomorrow night! THWG and Go Jackets!

ACC Chumpionship Game – between 2 teams who just LOST both to SEC also-ran 5-Loss Teams – cannot give away their tickets for free. No Tech fans (neither of you) are going either. And, no one will watch when they can see Big XII Championship Game Texas at the same time as Tech plays the Climpsum Farmers.
ACC is a joke without even a Top 10 team in either the Coaches’ or the AP Polls. Again this year as every year.
