Clemson Game Ball? You decide!

So, fellow Tech fans…who gets the “game ball” from this past Thursday evening?

Josh Nesbitt…Ran for 92 and threw for 83 yards? Gutsy fourth quarter leadership?

Anthony Allen…151 total yards of offense, including the 82 yard run early?

Scott Blair…Threw for a TD on a fake and kicked three field goals, two in the fourth quarter to tie and win?

Jerrard Tarrant…returned the quick kick for a TD and deflected the late Clemson desperation pass?

Derrick Morgan…10 tackles (4 for a loss) and 3 sacks, dominant in the first half?

Did I miss anyone?

Personally, my game ball goes to Scott Blair.  He was responsible for 18 points…not bad for a place kicker!

Scott Blair obviously. He had a hand in half the points.

Nesbitt almost lost the game because he throws like a girl.

Don’t be too hard on Nesbitt. I’m sure he was having an off day.

But the game ball definitely goes to Blair. He came through on all 3 field goals and threw a TD pass. That’s over half the team’s points right there.

Scott Blair, no doubt. Meanwhile, Ok State>UGAg, Uni of Houston>Ok State.all that equals its better to have a phat Johnson than a little Cox.

Scott Blair…no question. However all others were excellent. How about Bay Bay.

Nesbit may have had a rough game, but he cake thru on the last 2 drives with his running and passing. He seemed to just tell everyone to “get on” cause I am going to carry us the rest of the way.

Agreed; obviously Blair. Not to knock JN too much, but if he had been able to pass as well as my 6-year-old grandson the other night we wouldn’t have needed any 4th quarter heroics.
You missed BeBe; who gets an honorable mention along with the rest. The critical pass to him on the last drive was underthrown, but he got up for it over the Clemson DBs. Plus the other catches he made.
GO TECH!! BEAST THE “U”!! THWG!! Tough Okie State beaten by Houston!

Game balls to all of the above AND to CPJ for his coaching which nullified Clemson’s tackles.

Scott Blair and I would also give one to Derrick Morgan. He played like a warrior all night.

How about some daily blogs…why two days after the game? If I lived in Atlanta and had gone to the game, I would have been blogging as soon as I got home. Just to share the excitement. My poor wife had to tolerate my waking her up so I could tell stories about the game for at least an hour after it ended. She was not happy that I kept her awake! Anyway, kudos to Scott Blair for his consistency throughout. I also have to acknowledge Josh Nebitt and the D for reaching deep to find what it took to win and close out the game when all looked lost.

Not much of a blog post there… Please continue to make regular updates so we aren’t embarrassed by the lack of posts… Remember – if you are going to run this blog – run it like you care about it.

Thank you.

The offense scored 1 TD. No one on offense gets a gameball.
Defense – D. Morgan
Special Teams – S Blair

If the 270 pound guys can’t block, somebody needs to get the 310 pounders in the game to block.

So the blog shows up two days after the game. Hopefully it was just an honest mistake late at night and the original blog did not get posted. We need someone like whoever runs the Georgia Fan Blog that posts quickly and frequently. Sad that a Georgia guy can run a better blog than a Tech guy.

how about the official who threw the flag after the Clemson player made the catch at the end of the game? How about the official who lost track of Thomas not breaking the huddle and stand off the field? But never the less, GT will not lose until they meet Fl for the MNC.You know the officials will not help you beat Tebow. Enjoy your season.

Not Disappointed!

Flo-ri-duh st had to crawl in the last 4 minutes to win, including a pick for a td. That was sad. Jacksonville state kicked them up and down the field. Sorry they lost.

Scott Blair, with Nesbitt coming through in a pinch. Thanks guys. You had lady luck last week. Now go out and kick the Canes Butt this Thursday Nite!

All of the above mentioned players did a great job. But the real hero was Dan Radacovich. He is the one that fired chan gomer gailey and hired a real college football coach.

Thank God and Greyhound that DRAD fired chan gomer gailey. That is what is making all this possible. Any Tech fan that ever supported or defended chan gemer gailey in any way sucks as bad as he does.

Definitely not Paul Johnson...

…after all his bravado last week about how we need to be “nasty” he failed to “walk the walk” when Tech was driving for the 4th TD in the second quarter. With first down on the 10 he runs 3 plays, the third of which was just to set up the field goal, instead of going for the juggular and scoring the TD to make it 28-0. I know he said after the game that the team was in disarray at that point since he called a pass play the QB handed the ball off – but that does not excuse at least trying to score rather than just settling for a field goal. And what happened immediately afterwards, Spiller gets a 70 yard TD reception.

Yes, sir, ol Paul talks a good game, but when it came time to keep the hammer down, he didn’t do it!

Offensively you have to give it to the only weapon Tech had: Allen.

Defensively you have to give it to Morgan who was a beast up front.

Special Teams goes to Blair for flat out winning the game but kuddos also go to Tarrant.

Sure, the uga guy posts more often than the GT fan blogger. That’s because it’s his JOB. The AJC pays him to blog 3-4 times daily. The GT guy is a true fan blogger (i.e. unpaid, has another job, etc.). Don’t bash Chris.

BLAIR–that was to ez to ask. The D did what it needed to late, but the O almost killed the D by not doing anything in the 2nd & 3rd quarters. I give a helmet sticker to the whole D for keeping the win at the end of the game. Josh did what he had to do to win when it was soooo needed.

Just for clarification, there was no huddle after the mass substitution, so there was no missed breaking the huddle call on Thomas.

Hey Def Not PJ, the play you’re talking about on 3rd down was not to setup a field goal, it was supposed to be a play action fake that the offense screwed up per CPJ.

The offense really played poorly but still came away with the W. They’ll get better and someone is about to feel the wrath of a big blow out. Don’t know if it’s going to be Miami or UNC but get ready.

I think the official who threw the yellow flag for holding that changed the whole outcome of the game should get the game ball for GT… without that egregious penalty, Clemson runs out the clock and wins the game and Tech never touches the ball offensively again in the game. Yes sir, the whole team should sign the football and give it to the official who won the game for them.

Clemson held every play….that call was correct but all the no calls on all their take downs all night were not correct.

I’m pretty sure Nesbot would’ve loved to hand the ball off late in the game, but CPJ had figured Climpson out, and the fix was the QB keeper. A lotta guts, as usual, from Nesbot to keep plugging when he was really worn out.

Scott Blair for sure. He also continued to make tackles on returns. I don’t know if anybody watched the UGA game, but the Georgia kicker is quiet a contrast. On South Carolina’s return in the third or fourth quarter to midfield. You can watch UGA’s kicker trying to get to the sideline to avoid contact. It was really funny.

I just read in the ajc Sports ‘In Brief’ section that the coordinator of ACC officials said the touchdown from Blair to Thomas and the touchdown from Kyle Parker to Marquan Jones should have both been called back because both plays “featured substitutions that were designed to confuse the opponets” …. Now I’ve heard it all!!! …. Isn’t that what football is all about?? … Why don’t we outlaw a reverse on offense …or maybe make the Blitz on defense and illegal play because these are designed to confuse the opponent…. Better yet, why don’t we just make it mandantory that you have to announce the play you are running both on offense AND defense BEFORE you run the plays so we don’t “confuse the opposition” …..

WHAT is this guy SMOKING??? …. Article says this came from the coordinator of ACC officials, Doug Rhoads……. Surely, that article had to be a joke!!!

Coach PJ, keep up the GREAT job!!! …. I hope you CONFUSE Miami on every play!!!!

Totally agree T pkg! Lets outlaw the play action too. Football is a game of misdirection and confusion. Its called a “Trick” play for a reason! Its kind of embarrassing that this guy represents our conference. Oh well, Beat ThugU and THWG!
