Havana Sandwich Shop opening pushed to January

This from a comment on a blog I wrote on June 8, 2009, from William Benedit:

“Dear loyal customers,
Thank you again for your continued support of the opening of Havana Restaurant. After many months of looking for the perfect location, we are happy to say Havana has found a home!!!
The new address is 3373 Buford Hwy Atlanta, GA 30329. We will be located 1/2 mile north on Buford Hwy at the entrance of Northeast Plaza Shopping Center. 404-636-4094 The projected opening date is January 1, 2010.
We will keep you posted on the progress. When we are closer to the opening date, we will e-mail coupons to everyone.
We are very excited about opening the restaurant and serving each and every one of you.”

Have enjoyed the Havanna Sandwich Shop since the 80’s. Ah yes…me an a buddy would swoop in for lunch with at Cuban Steak, wash it down with a MooseHead and smoke a doobie on the way back to work on North Druid.

BlondeHoney! Cool down! The folks at Havana wouldn’t like you anyway. Havana is a down to earth family place. You’re not nice. (And probably a pain in the ass.) Enjoy eating at home by yourself. Your loss.

Looks like 2 Cuban restaurants will be opening on Buford Hwy soon! I’ve been going to Havana Sandwich Shop for years, and have received great food and service from day 1. I know of Debbie and Willie, but I must admit the man I remember the most is the older gentleman behind the counter, Mr. Benedit. He made all of his customers feel like family. I’m sure his son, Willie and his daughter-in-law Debbie will carry on that tradition. I look forward to eating at both places.
