Atlanta has its share of paleterias — Mexican popsicle shops. One of my favorites is LottaFrutta, where owner Myrna Perez whips up flavorful fruit sticks, from mango to pina. Bambi Paleteria in Smyrna is a fun place to beat the heat, too.
But I’ve yet to try an alcoholic version of one anywhere but at home. Fine Cooking’s August/September issue freezes up some fun with a story on “Cold Comfort,” where bellini pops made with peaches and prosecco, as well as a pop made with heavy cream, lemon and citron vodka sound like tempting treats.
So now, the search is on: Who’s making popsicle cocktails in Atlanta?

Tous Les Jours Bakery on Lawrenceville-Suwannee Road in Gwinnett County has the BEST homemade frozen fruit pops.

Recipe, Meredith, Recipe! Your pops sound good and we are headed to Florida. I would love to have a drink on a stick as I stare at the ocean. .

Ok, I went to the link in the article (embarrassed look on my face) and there is no ration presented for the alcohol. Does any one know what percentage to go with?

Atlanta Native: Are you sure? I just dbl checked and the recipes all call for a specific amount of alcohol (1 and 1/2 cups for the Bellini pops and 2 TBSP of citron vodka for the lemon cream pops).

I am clearly unable to follow links today, probably the jell-o shooters are slowing me down.
Rachel Ray snarfed the rest, so I’m sobering up now.
