What restaurant would you like reviewed this month?

A recent trip to Rumi’s Persian restaurant on Roswell Road reminded me that it’s time to ask for this month’s reader’s nomination for a review — eating at favorite restaurant will do that.

Barg (pictured) is a marinated beef drenched in the flavors of butter, onion, lemon and saffron sometimes served with shireen polow — saffron-scented rice mixed with almonds and tart barberries, then sprinkled with dried sumac.

Kebabs and lamb dishes are the obvious specialties, but badenjoon, a rich veal-and-eggplant stew served with chelow (the light, cloudlike plain white rice that is Iran’s staple ingredient) shouldn’t be missed.

Last month “Stan” suggested I do a real take on fast food and folks are still commenting. Lots of other great recommendations came, too — and they are now on my list. What’s on your mind this month for a review?

I would love to see a review for “Uptown Cafe” located in historic Lawrenceville. It’s a mediteranean restaurant. Seating is VERY limited. I would suggest going for lunch on Saturday (menu is the same all day).

I said Le Petit Maison in Sandy Springs last time, and hoped to have tried it myself before this round, but still have not been!

Tsk tsk, phar :) I’ll throw Brooklyn Cafe in again, as well, but it might qualify for more of a neighborhood joint. Not for me to decide!

Meridith, how about reviewing the reopened 57th Figher Group next to PDK? Heard that it reopened and hoping that they continue the tradition of serving great beer-cheese soup and escargot. They also used to serve a great prime rib.
