Reese’s loves dark chocolate

Stop the presses, or whatever you stop these days in cyber world. I don’t care if Bacchanalia chefs open a pizzeria, or if Trois is remaining open, serving a bacon-infused bourbon cocktail that’s all the rage.

Reese’s has launched a dark chocolate peanut butter cup. Did I pray for this? I think so. The top-selling candy bar in the United States just went dark, and a preliminary taste test, done under the strictest scrutiny just moments ago at my desk (I swear I only ate three), proves that I’ve been right all along: YUMMERS. The taste reminds me of the days when I used to dip my spoonful of peanut butter into the bag of dark chocolate chips (wait a minute — I still do that).

But there’s more: from now until December 31, while supplies last, specially marked packages of Reese’s products will offer a “Reese’s Loves You Back” instant-win promotion that will give away up to $2.5 million to consumers in cash prizes towards gas and grocery items. So eat up. Dark chocolate is good for you.

You are not the only one who prayed for the Dark Chocolate Reese’s cup.

I also wrote them several times over the past year. Now I did find that in certain regions of the US, last year they had a special Halloween dark chocolate cup, but it did not release nationally.

I’m glad they have it and if they are prudent, they will add it to their permanent line up of products…

Ymmmmmmm…..

I’m willing to try it..The only thing is that I don’t like dark chocolate..Actually, I could live without chocolate 99% of the time..OK, go ahead and say that I’m crazy because I don’t care for chocolate..I have been told that all of my 47 years..

Ooh — I’ve dipped a peanut butter-coated spoon in dark chocolate chips before too. Good to know I’m not alone. I also recommend dipping bits of Valrhona dark chocolate in Smucker’s natural peanut butter. So good.

I’ll try the new dark Reese’s. I hope I like it better than the Newman’s Own dark chocolate peanut butter cup. It’s weird, because most of the Newman’s Own products are really good, but that one is oddly lacking in flavor.

Stan, I might be crazy, but when you do go to cooking school and open up your restaurant, I’ll be there to try it..:)

It would be wonderful if they could incorporate a healthy dark chocolate like Xocai into the product line. Xocai has a healthy cold processed dark chocolate that tastes great and is great for you. No added refined sugar! For more information try out lovemyxocai.com and take the tour.
