Vonn Bell on Nick Saban: “He’s a DB coach, and he’s going to be coaching me”

Vonn Bell prediction?

Vonn Bell, the 5-star safety from Ridgeland, nearly committed after the completion of his senior season. One of the main reasons he waited was to give a fair shake to his childhood favorite, Tennessee.

His other two finalists are Ohio State and rumored frontrunner Alabama.

“I waited because I wanted to go visit the campuses again, and give Tennessee a chance because they lost their coach at the end of the year,” Bell said. “I want to give everybody an equal and fair shot.”

How does Bell feel about the Volunteers? “They’re in a slump right now but I think Butch Davis … I mean, Butch Jones, is the guy that will bring them out of that slump.”

Bell had a lot of nice things to say about Urban Meyer and his national championship at Florida. But he may have saved his highest praise for Nick Saban.

“Alabama … it just speaks for itself,” Bell said. They are in the national championship again. Coach Nick Saban, he’s a DB coach, and he’s going to be coaching me. So Coach Saban has got guys into the NFL, so his name speaks for himself.”

Bama offer?

January 7th, 2013

After watching Bell play in the state championship I would imagine he may need to call Saban and confirm that he still has an offer to Alabama. He got trucked a couple of times in that game by a 10th grader.

Now we need to offer Taylor Lamb and Josh Barnes from Calhoun because I saw Calhoun beat Ridgeland and Mr Bell sure had a hard time covering Barnes and tackling Lamb and Alex Urbano.

Not sure why people are arguing or making fun of this. This is no surprise here. This guy has been leaning to Bama for some time. Nothing he said is incorrect.

Bama will be getting a great one in vonn bell. i still cant figure out how the state of georgia has about 5 kids in the top 15 prospects in the country and it looks like we will not land one of them. not only that we only have about 4 out of the top 150 and your looking at about 20-25 georgia kids in the top 300 in the country maybe more than that.

Vonn Bell is a traitor to the state og Georgia.

He is also stupid because UGA is actually an accredited top tier flagship state university, unlike Alabama where the only major other than football is construction of mobile homes.

He and his family should be ostracized in everything the do.

Murray will lead UGA to a NC next and Saban will be gone in a flash when a better offer comes in. He’s a great coach but a disgraceful mercenary in the mold of Pertino and Kiffin…

All major SEC schools have MANY guys in the NFL. Plenty of NFL defensive coaches in the SEC….play in the big 10 with Ohio ST? Good luck playing against top WR’s there! But go ahead and dominate and try to stop the SEC from winning the NC. Go to Ohio ST. Meyer needs all the help he can get. I dont think you are good enough to being a NC to OS….if you were a REAL MAN you would go to your favorite TENN. You dont think you can get to the NFL there?! You can get to the NFL playing at UT-Chatanooga if you are good! Go to TENN and stop acting like the only pro players come from Bama. You know why they come from Bama and most ALL other schools? Because they are good enough! You know why a lot come from the top SEC schools? Because they get a lot of GOOD players. If you are good you go pro from ANY D1 school and certainly very easily from the top 60-70 schools. If you are good you are good. You can be good at Appalachian ST! They got several players in the NFL. Even GT does! See? Bama by no means holds the door to the NFL. BY no means do they even have an advantage over many schools.

This changes yearly and sometimes significantly but this was a report in September:I seen one report that said UGA and LSU both had 37. So UGA and LSU have the most. Not Bama…

USC: 44
Miami: 37
LSU: 36
Georgia: 35
Ohio State: 35
Texas: 35
Florida: 30
Alabama: 26
Cal: 25
Iowa: 25
Michigan: 25

Never before have I read so many confessions. Most everyone posting here are certainly not Bama fans. But they obviously follow Bama more than any other school including their (claimed to be) school. They are showing themselves to be a bunch of jealous Bama wanna-bees that would trade their birthrights to get Bama (and thrown in any other thing they pocess) to trade to them the best and #1 Head Coach “NICK SABAN” as the head coach at their school. Short of that they would trade all that stuff listed above to get Saban out of their competitive area (right now they suggest Cleveland in the NFL) so they won’t get their rear ends Saban kicked again. Get over it guys, “IT IS WHAT IT IS” and really it is only a friendly game of football.

Mike, I think it is time to bring in a good Saban bashing.
Your articles are losing their zip. I don’t think a homer Ga article is going to do it.
How about this. ” Saban and Kirby lies to Ga recruits”.
Yea, that’s the ticket!

Yes, I get that Alabama wins championships but I don’t get why these kids just want to be another player on the team and get lost in the shuffle of all the 5* recruits. Why not go to a school where you can play against a team like Alabama and give yourself a chance to be a legend wherever else you go. Nobody remembers many starters for Alabama from 5 years ago but everyone remembers Tee Martin from TN or Nash and Price. None of which would be ‘known’ at Alabama but are legends at TN. I hate TN but used them as an example, could have used 20 different schools to make this point.
