Clemson loses two Georgia WRs in the same day

Monday was a rough day for Clemson in the state of Georgia.

Two wide receivers from the state that had been committed to Clemson decided to go to other schools.

Lassiter High School’s Ryan Jenkins flipped from Clemson (where his brother plays) to Tennessee (where his father played).

Demarcus Robinson also ended the year’s wildest recruiting soap opera.

The AJC Super 11 wide receiver from Peach County High School originally committed to Clemson, switched to Florida, changed back to Clemson, de-committed last week from the Tigers at an all-star while wearing a Florida hat, was set to announce for a fourth time on NBC on Saturday but canceled because he wasn’t ready, then announced on Twitter on Monday that he would be enrolling that same day at Florida.

Jenkins made up his mind after visiting Tennessee last weekend. “After spending time with the coaches and walking around the campus, I knew Tennessee was where my heart was,” he told the AJC.

It wasn’t easy to make the phone call to Clemson. “You know, it was very tough, because it’s a big lifetime decision. But at the end of the day, it’s a business and you have to do what’s best for you.”

His brother, Marty Jenkins, plays defensive back at Clemson. “He told me to just go where I am happy. He’s happy for me.”

His father, Lee Jenkins, played at Tennessee and later in the NFL. “It’s cool to play where my dad played. But even if my dad didn’t play at Tennessee, I would still be going there.”

What grabbed his heart about Tennessee? “It was just everything – my relationship with the coaches, the atmosphere and energy up there, just the whole feeling I go when I was up there. I knew that was where I wanted to be.”

Jenkins is a Tennessee legacy but didn’t have an offer from the team’s previous staff, headed by Derek Dooley. Jenkins is a 4-star and ranked as the nation’s No. 298 overall prospect by ESPN.

Demarcus Robinson … will he know which way to run once he catches a pass? Fortunately, he has a 50% probability of heading in the preferred direction. That said, this bids fairly well for his opponents.

Obviously, he didn’t base his latest decision on bowl performance.

Just goes to show you how bad Dooley was…here is a GA kid, whose father played for the Vols, rated as a 4 star and he didn’t even offer the kid. Pathetic! Must have got his coaching “smarts” from Barbara’s side of the family.

Robinson needs to be on the same field/team as Ruben Foster, neither could get themselves out of the rain.

Ha ha ha everyone jump all over UGA when they lost a couple of recruits look at Clemson talk about a sinking ship Robert Nkemiche , Ryan Jenkins , David Kamara , and now Robinson that is much worst than what UGA lost i really like our chances with Mon Adams now don’t see Clemson as a threat .

PR…………PMS MURRAY is 4-10 against top 25 teams. Wisconsin……did I really see that WISCONSIN put up 70 against Nebraska. What did UGa score? 45? It was 45-31 and Wisconsin was 70-31? WOW they scored the same against UGa as they did WISCONSIN. LMAO.

Tech in January of 1991 beat Nebraska for the National Championship 45-21. UGa couldn’t even do MORE against Nebraska than TECH did. LMAO.

Great the Robert Nkemdiche article has been REDUCED to 12 post and comments shut down. HAHAHHA………..Robert I hope you are not an Obama fan otherwise you will not like Ole Miss. Didn’t you see the protests on campus after Obama won re-election?

Ryan – I am hearing (totally unconfirmed) that Montraveous Adams won’t make the grades to get into UGA. If true, short of sending him to Georgia Military or another prep school, I still see Clemson as a threat. Lots of schools accept kids who cannot get into UGA. I hope it is not true but I guess we will find out inside of a month.

@A person….

I probably should not respond to someone who is an alum of no school, but lets’s see…..UGA beat (this year) Florida, who was # 5 at the time and a game we had to win to play in the SEC Championship game and we beat Nebraska who had 10 wins and was in the top 25. You should probably change your posting name, smart enough….huh?

Murray was 2-2 against top 25 teams this year.
MURRAY will be the HEISMAN Favorite in 13…………Murray will hold ALL the UGa passing records and and and Padding My Stats against crappy teams MURRAY will ….I REPEAT……Will NOT win the SEC CG or a National Cahmpionship……..doubt he even gets an Invite to “The Downtown Athletic Club” at the end of the season.

Y’all are far too kind. I really do hate UGA with every fiber of my being!

In all seriousness, if I were an offensive player, Florida is not where I’d choose to go until they can prove that they can run a competent system (setting education aside, as UF is a terrific school). They scored a lot of points in a few games this year, but it had to do with their defense giving them a short field. Driskell made our passing game look like Tom Brady was running it. Yeesh.
